Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for applying partial surface coatings to a breathable, waterproof film having the features of the preamble of the claim 1.
  • a device for applying partial surface coatings to a breathable, waterproof film having the features of the preamble of the claim 1.
  • Such a device is e.g. from US-A-5,827,579.
  • a medium, breathable Film can be laminated on both sides (i.e., with an outer layer and with a lining).
  • the double-sided surface coating should not affect the breathability of the film.
  • the textile handle of the film in comparison with one-sided laminated films not be worse.
  • the device according to the invention for applying a partial surface coating Based on the screen printing principle shown in CH 648 497 and CH 663 310.
  • the device has at least one first application device for direct or indirect Applying a flowable plastic compound on one side of the film or on a support on.
  • the first application device preferably has at least one first application nozzle and a first, movable sieve.
  • the movable screen is between the applicator nozzle and the film or disposed between the applicator nozzle and the carrier.
  • the first sieve is in sync with the Slide or movable with the carrier.
  • the flowable plastic mass is first applied to a carrier, for example applied in the form of an endless belt or in the form of a cylinder and then transferred from the carrier to the film.
  • a carrier for example applied in the form of an endless belt or in the form of a cylinder and then transferred from the carrier to the film.
  • Under application nozzle is in connection with the present application understood any device for applying the plastic compound.
  • the inventive device For coating the other surface of the film has the inventive device at least one second application device arranged on the other side of the film.
  • the second application device is used for direct or indirect application of the flowable plastic compound on the other side of the slide or on another carrier.
  • the first and the second applicator are aligned or alignable, so that surface coatings on the two sides of the film at least partially congruent are.
  • this device for producing a two-sided partially coated, breathable and waterproof film.
  • the device has arranged in the direction of the film after the applicators Arrangements for laminating the film on both sides. This results in a device for producing triple laminates (three-ply fabrics).
  • the second applicator preferably has at least one second applicator nozzle and a second movable sieve.

With the alignable arrangement of the first and the second screen the partial surface coating on one side of the film can coincide with the partial surface coating on the other side of the film are applied. On This way, both sides of the film each coated or uncoated surface sections generated.
  • the breathability of the double-coated film is therefore in comparison to the breathability of a film coated on one side only. Also is the handle of a 3-layer laminate with a middle film according to the invention clearly better than a film with non-congruent coatings coated on both sides Foil or comparable to the handle of a film coated on one side only. It is also conceivable to provide other order arrangements, the congruent double-sided coating allow. Instead of sieves, e.g. Gravure rolls are used that serve to accommodate the plastic material and are mutually alignable.
  • the first application device consists of a sieve and the second applicator works on the gravure principle. typically, becomes a screen roller on one side and a gravure roller on the other side used.
  • This arrangement is particular in view of the stability of the coating process advantageous. Due to the closed surface of the gravure roll, this can be particularly serve well as a pressure roller.
  • Another advantage with this arrangement is that starting from the gravure roll as a pattern in a simple manner, the screen roll can be produced can. By making the screen roll starting from the previously engraved gravure roll is ensured that the arrangement of the sieve openings in the screen roller arranged identically are like the depressions in the gravure roll.
  • the gravure roll and the screen roll are in the manner described above mutually aligned.
  • a film is typically a breathable, water-impermeable film such. Goretex or Sympatex. Breathable and water-impermeable in this context, that the film lets water vapor through to a certain extent and that the film in normal use, e.g. as a garment is waterproof.
  • the first and the second sieve from sieve drums which are rotatably mounted.
  • the sieve drums rotate in opposite directions.
  • the surface coating becomes direct abandoned by the screening drums on the film.
  • the film runs between the two sieve drums therethrough.
  • the two sieve drums are arranged so that their axes in one Plane perpendicular to the film.
  • the screen drum on one side of the film thus serves at the same time as a pressure roller for the other screen drum on the other side of the film.
  • the screening drums are mutually both in the axial direction and in the direction of travel the foil alignable.
  • the axes of the two sieve drums can be aligned in this way be that they are in the same plane.
  • the alignment of the screening drums in the direction of the film can be achieved by a suitable choice Rotational speed of the drums are achieved. In operation is the rotation speed the two sieve drums are the same size, so that the two sieves move synchronously.
  • the movement speed can be selected differently until the sieves are aligned with each other. Aligned in this context means that the Screen openings of one sieve at the moment of application of partial surface coating congruent with the screen openings of the other screen.
  • the screen openings typically form a dot matrix. But there are also other arrangements e.g. Lines, conceivable.
  • the first and the second are Screen formed identical.
  • two identical screening drums can be used.
  • the identical choice of screen pattern ensures that a congruent partial surface coating can be produced on both surfaces of the film. It However, it would also be conceivable to provide fewer screen openings in one screen than in the other Sieve, so that the two sieves are not completely identical.
  • a servo motor In the case of screening drums, it is particularly advantageous to drive them with a servo motor.
  • the servo motor allows the alignment of the two screens in the direction of the film.
  • fabrics, knitted fabrics or nonwovens are used as lamination.
  • a partial surface coating is applied to both sides of the film.
  • the surface coatings on the two sides of the film are doing so to each other aligned so that the film coated on both sides and uncoated on both sides Has sections.
