Definitions
- the invention relates to a betting system for number bets, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- US 4 494 197 A or JP 2-281 370 A is the use of computers for the Acceptance of bets or for the issue of tickets at the In principle, betting acceptance known.
- the bets are in particular for sports betting, and for placing bets For example, data regarding race or game as well as Bets entered; those issued after the bet was accepted Tickets have corresponding data and usually also one specific ticket number. A possible profit arises based on the outcome of the respective sporting event given times.
- a betting system was proposed in DE 195 02 613 A, considered the closest prior art to accept number bets, for example one Calculator suggests, further including a drawing calculator as part a central computer system is provided; the draw calculator is used to draw winning numbers using a random number generator assigned to the formation of random numbers that be used to determine the winning numbers.
- Numbers can include other symbols such as cherries, aces, crowns, be bet as possible winning symbols.
- DE 37 36 770 A discloses a gaming device a central station for determining the winning numbers and with connected Participation stations with input devices as well as with a random number generator in the central station to generate winning numbers generate, whereby the winning numbers of past games can also be called up are.
- the invention provides a betting system as defined in claim 1.
- Advantageous configurations are specified in the dependent claims.
- This betting system can be extremely short Time intervals in succession, for example every 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 15 minutes, draws are made, taking stimulating, exciting number betting across multiple draws be made possible because a draw is almost immediately on the A number bet can follow.
- the drawing calculator assigned random generator continuously generates random numbers and makes it available to the computer system. At given times namely at the drawing times, for example every 5 minutes, are clocked at a certain clock frequency from which series of random numbers given by the random number generator the winning numbers "pulled", of course one Comparator unit is provided to the during a draw already extracted winning numbers with the newly extracted ones Compare winning numbers to rule out that (at this Draw) one and the same number a second time as a winning number is "pulled".
- Unauthorized numbers can also be eliminated , for example if only numbers from 1 to 49 ("6 out of 49") can be bet. Because the central computer system at least one central betting data store and at least one contains a betting data management computer, it is ensured that a central draw is carried out electronically for all bets and that bets a uniform treatment be subjected to acceptance and profit evaluation.
- the random number generator can be used for other applications already known ways can be realized with a program; However, studies have shown that such random generators can sometimes show tendencies towards certain numbers. Accordingly, it has proven to be particularly advantageous if the Random number generator a separate one connected to the drawing calculator Circuit is. Such a hardware random number generator can, for example, to a serial interface of the drawing computer be connected.
- the circuit of the can be used to generate random numbers
- Random generator contain a diode or a resistor, their noise amplified and fed to a pulse shaper becomes.
- the pulse shaper can, for example, by a differential amplifier or comparator or one Schmitt trigger be formed, and he gives one if there is certain levels in the noise-derived input signal a pulse of a given amplitude.
- the impulses thus obtained are random, also as far as their length is concerned, and when scanning with a corresponding frequency, for example by clocking with a correspondingly high clock frequency on an AND gate e.g. binary coded numbers that make up the winning numbers can be "pulled". It is conceivable to always have two Take digits for a number, e.g. from 01 to 49, whereby for the first digit (the tens digit) only allows the digits 0 to 4 (the digits 5 to 9 can if necessary can also be converted into numbers 0 to 4).
- random generators are known per se are working on the basis of noise, cf. e.g. DE 29 45 580 A, GB 2 309 392 A or EP 843 289 A, however, acts these are different applications from number betting systems.
- winning results for certain, predetermined Combination bets for single and / or multiple draws saved. This "sees" in the event of a profit evaluation by the Bet data management computer for the saved weather results to determine the individual matches, and then using e.g. winning results stored in tables the respective total profit is determined. For any Determining the profit on a ticket to be checked the betting data management computer compares the read ticket betting data with the winning numbers stored in the betting data memory of the draws in question, and at least partially He determines the profit achieved based on the stored information.
- the ticket can be at a cash desk in the area be presented to a betting office, where then immediately the profit paid out or as a stake for subsequent ones Betting can be used.
- betting data can be used to accept bets manually can be entered via a keyboard, or a pre-printed, completed betting slip to be presented by machine is read in, when the bet is accepted by the Operator and a ticket if confirmed by the bettor is printed out.
- a preliminary check can be made to accept the bet carried out with regard to incorrect betting information , for example, if only a certain number of numbers are bet if only certain combination bets are possible, or if only a predetermined maximum number (e.g. twelve) of Draws for which numbers can be bet in advance, is possible.
- the present betting system advantageously includes Appropriate checking facility for the parameters of the desired bets or a test unit for accepting bets, their bets or the maximum possible Payout of winnings is below a predetermined maximum amount or for accepting bets with a maximum total winning payment for all bets per draw under a given Forms maximum amount. With such betting limits will be accordingly the stake was also kept low.
- the drawing computer is preferably a test module for monitoring assigned to the proper function of the random generator, in the event of a fault, e.g. an interrupted one Connection between the random number generator and the drawing calculator, the acceptance of bets is generally blocked.
- a fault e.g. an interrupted one Connection between the random number generator and the drawing calculator
- the betting data management computer can be used to determine the winnings Assign unique numbers for the accepted bets or assign. If necessary, the unique numbers can also be associated with data associated with certain people, where then also an automatic profit determination and credit of one any profit for the associated people would be conceivable.
- Fig.1 there are a number of acceptance points 1, denoted in detail with 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 .... 1.n, the an different locations, with a central computer system 2 networked, for example in a conventional manner Dedicated lines, but also other communication connections, such as e.g. Internet, satellite connections etc. can be used can.
- a manual and / or automatic acceptance of number bets may be provided, where the number bets, for example, with the help of pre-printed, completed betting slips, as is known become.
- FIG. 2 shows the structure of such an acceptance point in more detail 1 illustrates, for example, one or more Self-service terminals 3 (in detail with 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 ... 3.n) are provided in parallel, at to a person who wishes to place a number bet, completed betting slips presented; these betting slips will be in particular automatically read in, for which conventional, not Readers or scanner devices illustrated in more detail are present, and there will be the respective bet, for example is already stated on the betting slip, in the form of banknotes or coins at the self-service terminal 3 inserted.
- Self-service terminals 3 in detail with 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 ... 3.n
- These self-service terminals 3 pass over a WAN telecommunication connection with the central computer system (2 in Fig.1) with the help of a separate person responsible for this Communication computer or transfer computer 4 in Connection so that the central computer system 2 the required Reviews, especially regarding a betting limit, as well as a unique, central ticket number assign and release the printout of the betting ticket.
- acceptance point 1 is in the local network (LAN) at least one cash register computer 5 available (of course can also be provided several cash register computers), where from bets are received by an operator.
- the Betting data is entered here, for example, using a keyboard, however, it can also be a reading unit for reading in already completed betting slips are available, and the money for betting purposes, the operator directly accepted.
- FIG. 3 schematically illustrates the central computer system 2, which over the WAN network with the acceptance points 1.1 to 1.n is networked, and that as an essential element Draw calculator 10 contains.
- This draw calculator 10 is a Random generator 11 assigned, which is designed as a hardware component and for example with a serial interface of the Draw calculator 10 is connected.
- This random generator 11, which are illustrated in more detail below with reference to FIG. 4 should continuously generate bits on a random basis, generated by the Draw calculator 10 are implemented as random numbers, and from those at the time of the respective draw the winning numbers "to be pulled. For example, in the present Betting system numbers bet between 1 and 49, and six winning numbers are drawn per draw, i.e. it deals is a "6 out of 49" number betting system.
- At least one betting data management computer then communicates in the local network 12 with the drawing calculator 10 and a central betting data memory 13 and further again via a communication computer 14 and the WAN network with the individual Acceptance points 1.
- the management computer 12 leads in connection with the respective Acceptance points 1 the individual, hereinafter based on the 5 steps explained in more detail during the acceptance and verification of bets as well as in the draw and then in the Profit evaluation through.
- the present system is more advantageous Conceived in such a way that the management computer 12 is always active at the request of the individual acceptance points 1, for a offered bet on correctness of the parameters and on Check validity with regard to given betting limits, and a unique ticket number if the bet is accepted to be allocated centrally; or in the case of the presentation of a Bet tickets after a draw to check if and which numbers were correctly bet, i.e. whether and how many matches with drawn numbers, and how high for each Ticket is the payout in the event of a win.
- the management computer 12 always takes effect to the central store 13 where the individual profit or Draw numbers as well as data related to the calculation of profits are saved.
- the present betting system is based in particular on the fact that there is a for each bet any use is possible, as long as the maximum possible win for this bet under a predetermined limit remains, and so long for the numbers bet, specifically taken individually for each of these numbers, when adding them up all possible payouts, i.e. taking into account all bets already accepted for a draw, a maximum profit limit is not exceeded. This For example, if the numbers 3; 13; 33; 43, one of these numbers, e.g.
- the random generator 11 generates, as mentioned, continuously and in randomly bits or numbers, and this series of numbers the drawing calculator 10 extracts at the time of a drawing the respective number is timed as a drawn winning number.
- this series of numbers the drawing calculator 10 extracts at the time of a drawing the respective number is timed as a drawn winning number.
- the draws can easily in extraordinary short time intervals follow one another, e.g. every five minutes, so that it is possible immediately after placing a bet waiting for the drawing result, what about this temporal Closeness is associated with a high tension.
- Place number bets combined over multiple draws about in the way that one or two numbers during three consecutive draws are drawn. For example can be a number on "Trebles" (a combination of three) Be bet over four draws, then for a win at least three draws must contain the number bet. If the bet number is drawn for all four draws, there are four winning three combinations.
- the random generator 11 can, for example, according to FIG be constructed such that a diode circuit 15 is provided , the voltage containing the so-called "white” noise the diode is tapped and fed to an amplifier 16, which amplifies this noise and a comparator, Schmitt trigger or the like.
- Pulse shaper 17 supplies, where appropriate a reference signal is fed to a further input 18, so that when the reference signal is exceeded by the output signal of the amplifier 16 a pulse at the output 19 of the pulse shaper 17th is delivered. This pulse delivery is therefore random, and she stems from the noise of the diode 15.
- the bet can be entered by reading a completed one pre-printed betting slip, as mentioned above, on one Self-service Terminal 3 may be offered, but it can also be desired on the till computer 5, in which case the operator either a completed betting slip in one Reads station 20 with a reading unit or via a Keyboard, as shown at 21 in Figure 5, which inputs betting data.
- the operator For this entry of the betting data by an operator it is expedient to record the recorded betting data in a step 22 to check and confirm there - especially when entering via the keyboard - an input error could also occur. Above all, any other can also be done in step 22 Changes to the number bets are made.
- Betting data recording this betting data over the WAN network to Administrative computer 12 sent in the central computer system 2 as 5 with block 23 is illustrated.
- the central Computer system 2 or in its management computer 12 now the betting data on the basic correctness of the parameters (About number of numbers bet, number of desired Drawings etc.) as well as with regard to the individual maximum Profit (based on this one bet) as well as the maximum Total profit (based on the previous for each Drawings already accepted bets), cf. step 24 in Fig. 5, and when the bet is accepted, this bet is (provisionally) included in a betting list for the current draws (Step 25 in Fig.5).
- step 26 Price of the betting ticket and the possible profit to the acceptance point 1 sent and displayed there on a screen.
- the bettor can now consider again whether he actually made the bet wishes, or whether he wants to change them. If applicable in step 27 a confirmation of the ticket and thus the Bet.
- step 29 payment of the stake is requested, and thereafter the Step 30 the betting ticket, provided with a ticket number in Barcode form, printed out for the bettor.
- This betting ticket contains all betting data in a conventional manner, i.e. the numbers wagered, as well as the draw or the wagered Draws, if necessary the specification of special combination bets etc.
- step 31 of FIG. 6 the time until next draw is calculated, this time in each Acceptance points also appear to let the bettor know about it are always informed.
- step 32 six individual, different numbers with the help of the random number generator 11 and the drawing computer 10 "drawn" in the manner described, and the numbers drawn become 33 in the next step transmitted to the management computer 12.
- step 34 accept betting tickets be blocked, during which time in the individual acceptance points 1 a drawing animation is running to get the bettor in the "clearing" of the winning numbers in a descriptive manner showcase.
- a block 35 schematically illustrates that the individual acceptance points 1 when presenting tickets in With regard to a profit check, the drawing results in each case be communicated by the management computer 12 and vice versa will be based on the imported betting ticket Pay also the management computer 12 in the central computer system 2 communicated. Because of this, the management computer 12 accessing the drawing results stored in the memory 13, by comparing the bet numbers with those drawn Winning numbers, by finding any matches and further, based on these matches, accessing data regarding payouts made for the respective matches and winning cases in the central Memory 13 can be stored in tables, the winnings are calculated (block 36). With a block 37 is then in Fig. 6 schematically indicated that the block of acceptance of Betting tickets is canceled again, this step itself - understandably will run parallel to steps 35 and 36.
- the management computer 12 forms a test facility for the desired bets regarding general Parameters as well as the possible exceeding of the maximum bet win. Together with the transfer computers 4 and 14 it forms also a test facility to check if a Connection to an acceptance point 1.x this acceptance point 1.x block from accepting bets. This function results simply from the fact that bets in the acceptance points only at an upright communication link between them and the central computer system 2 can be adopted.
- a test unit can be assigned to the drawing calculator 10 to the proper functioning of the random generator 11 and its connection to check the draw calculator 10 continuously. In the case If there is a fault, a message is sent to the administration computer 12 submitted so that this immediately at all acceptance points 1 the acceptance of bets is blocked.
- Such largely Independent acceptance points or "shops" can use the central Computer system, but there can be a distribution liability for the winnings provided in the form be that until lower winnings the acceptance point for the payment of the winnings is liable, and that from a predetermined Limit liability passes to the central betting office, which also in the settlement between the acceptance point and the Central is taken into account.
- step 24 in Fig. 5 where the offered bets are checked for any limits a test is carried out as schematically is illustrated in Figure 7.
- box 38 the Bet or possible payout determined, and it is queried at 39 whether a given one for the respective Acceptance point specific limit, the so-called "shop limit", is achieved. This may be a maximum bet or trade the maximum possible ticket prize payout.
- this limit it will in the acceptance computer system as well as in the central computer system, for example by setting a flag, as shown in Fig. 7 40 is specified. If the shop limit is not reached , it means that any profit by the receiving office would have to be paid out, as in box 41 is noted.
- the program then runs as described above 5 generally described, assuming the bet according to step 25 explained there.
