Definitions
- the invention relates to a starting device for a Internal combustion engine according to the type of claims 1, 8, 9, 10, or a method for starting the internal combustion engine after Genus of claim 13.
- DE 89 14 904 U1 discloses a starter motor which in Operation of the internal combustion engine simultaneously as a generator serves.
- the starter motor has a two-stage for this Planetary gear, which is in the first phase of the starting process a high torque and in the subsequent starting phase lower torque available at higher speed makes.
- a Starting device known that has a starter that has a starter.
- the starter is designed so that a safe Cold start even at low outside temperatures (up to about -40 ° C) is feasible. This is usually a Starter speed of at least 120 revolutions / min for the Starter provided.
- Low-emission concepts such as, for example in California are mandatory with do not meet such starters.
- the starting device according to the invention for a Internal combustion engine has the advantage that when Cold start of the internal combustion engine a significant reduction the harmful components in the exhaust gas, in particular of Hydrocarbons. This is advantageous without changing the conventional 12 volt electrical system Vehicle possible.
- Embodiments of the invention are in the drawing shown in simplified form and in the description below explained in more detail.
- 1 shows a schematic simplified representation of a starting device according to one first embodiment of the invention
- Figure 2 a schematically simplified representation of the starting device according to a second embodiment of the invention
- Figure 3 a schematically simplified representation of the starting device according to a third exemplary embodiment according to the invention
- Figure 4 is a schematic simplified representation of the Starting device according to a fourth invention Embodiment
- Figure 5 is a diagram of a Speed curve of the internal combustion engine starting from the start of Internal combustion engine plotted over time
- Figure 6 a Diagram of a history of hydrocarbon emissions from the Internal combustion engine starting from the start of the internal combustion engine plotted over time.
- FIG. 1 is a schematically simplified representation a first embodiment of the invention shown.
- first starter 1 for one Internal combustion engine 3 of a vehicle overlaps, for example a toothing of a starter ring gear 4 on a crankshaft 5 (Drive shaft) of the internal combustion engine 3.
- a second starter 2 acts on the starter ring gear 4.
- the transmission of that provided by launches 1, 2 Torque is not closer, for example illustrated sprocket, which in a not shown Engage the teeth of the starter ring gear 4.
- the two Starter 1, 2 are at one end of a not shown Mounted crankcase of the internal combustion engine 3 and have via a freewheel, which the starters 1, 2 before too high Protects speeds when overtaking the internal combustion engine 3.
- the two starters 1, 2 by one conventional 12 volt vehicle electrical system, for what for example, a single starter battery is sufficient. If necessary, several starter batteries can be provided become.
- the starting process is carried out by means of the two Starters 1, 2 divided so that the first starter 1 Internal combustion engine 3 starts from standstill and this to about 150 l / min to 250 l / min, preferably to about 200 l / min, accelerated. Then the second takes over Starter 2 the further acceleration of the internal combustion engine, the first starter 1 being deactivated.
- the first starter 1 is therefore dimensioned so that a safe cold start of the Internal combustion engine 3 is possible, for example, down to -40 ° C.
- the first starter 1 thus takes over a "tear-off function" since it the internal combustion engine 3 while overcoming the inertia and the Accelerated from standstill.
- the second Starter 2 can be designed weaker in terms of performance because it only a further run-up of the internal combustion engine 3 to one predetermined target speed of, for example, about 800 l / min must guarantee.
- the second starter 2 will therefore be described below referred to as "ramp starter 2".
- After reaching one high speed levels using the ramp starter 2 of about 800 l / min is then injected for the first time Fuel in the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine by means of a injection system not shown the Internal combustion engine 3. Starting internal combustion engine 3 and thus the combustion is only after reaching a relatively high speed levels of the internal combustion engine 3 carried out. Due to the division of the startup process on two starters 1, 2 it is possible to use these on the respective To optimize the application or to adapt it accordingly.
- FIG. 5 Such a starting sequence of the internal combustion engine 3 is shown in FIG Figure 5 marked by a line II.
- the starter accelerates the Internal combustion engine only to, for example, about 200 l / min, after which an injection of fuel for the first time subsequent combustion in combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine he follows.
- This point is marked with EI in FIG. 5.
- EI in FIG. 5.
- the invention provides for the injection of fuel only at a relatively high speed level of for example about 700 l / min to 1000 l / min, preferably at about 800 l / min.
- a relatively high speed level for example about 700 l / min to 1000 l / min, preferably at about 800 l / min.
- An injection or combustion of fuel at this high speed level leads to a particularly good combustion with extremely low emissions, especially of hydrocarbons. Is particularly clear this is shown in Figure 6, in which the course of the Internal combustion engine 3 emitted hydrocarbon emissions starting from the start of the internal combustion engine 3 over time is applied.
- Line I marks a course as it results from the usual start method according to line I in Figure 5 results.
- Line II in FIG. 6 shows the course of hydrocarbon emissions as it appears after the start sequence according to the invention according to line II in Figure 5 results. As line II shows, there is a significant reduction in Hydrocarbon emissions.
- the starting sequence according to the invention is not based on the Limited use of two starters. Instead of the two Starter 1, 2 can be sufficient even a single starter, as in the further exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 2 to 4 is described in more detail. All the same or equivalent Parts are with the same reference numerals of the first Embodiment marked according to Figure 1.
- FIG. 2 shows, there is only a single starter 11 provided that via a gear 10 to the starter ring gear 4th is coupled.
- the gear 10 is a continuously variable transmission 10, which the translation continuously change from starter 11 to starter ring gear 4 can in order to match the torque when starting up adjust or reduce.
- Such stepless Gearboxes are known to the person skilled in the art under the term CVT (Continuously Variable transmission) is well known.
- CVT Continuous Variable transmission
- the regulation of Torque delivered by starter 11 via transmission 10 takes place in such a way that there is a high torque at the start, which with increasing speed of the internal combustion engine decreases continuously. It is possible with only one Starter 11 a first injection of fuel a high speed level.
- FIG. 3 shows a third embodiment of the Invention, in which also only a single starter 11th is provided.
- the starter 11 has two pinions, one first smaller diameter pinion 14 and a second diameter larger pinion 15, the first pinion 14 on a first diameter larger ring gear 44 and that Reduce the second pinion on a second diameter Starter gear 45 can attack.
- the first pinion 14 with large translation as a reduction gear, for example from First attack 1: 100 on the first star gear 44 to let.
- the change or decoupling of the pinion 14 from the first Starter ring gear 44 for example by moving by an actuator 50 or the like, after which the second pinion 15 engages in the second ring gear 45.
- the intended low gear ratio from the second pinion 15 to the second Starting ring gear 45 is, for example, about 1:20.
- FIG 4 shows a fourth embodiment of the Invention, in which also only a single starter 11th is provided.
- the starter 11 is, for example a conventional starter, which is known as the "starter" Internal combustion engine 3 to about 150 l / min to about 250 l / min, preferably accelerated to about 200 l / min.
- Starter Internal combustion engine 3
- Internal combustion engine 3 built generator 60 (alternator) use the reverse, d. H. in reverse mode, is operated in order to then function as an electric motor or Electrical drive the internal combustion engine 3, for example a V-belt 61 coupled to the target speed of about 700 l / min to about 1000 l / min, preferably to about 800 l / min accelerate.
- the generator 60 thus takes over the function of the second starter 2 in the first embodiment according to the figure 1.
