Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hearing aid according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a conventional hearing aid contains a microphone, that directly picks up the ambient sound and turns it on corresponding electrical sound signal generated.
- This electrical Sound signal is given after suitable amplification, whereby the respective user of the hearing aid has the amplification factor and so that you can adjust the volume, through a speaker spent.
- Hearing aids are also known, in addition to a microphone for direct sound recording at least one more Have signal pickups that after another Recording principle works and also generates a sound signal, that can be output through the speaker.
- Such signal pickups are, for example to inductive transducers that are capable of a telephone, ring lines or computers with inductive Loops output electromagnetic signals record via an inductive coupling and in a corresponding convert electrical output signal.
- a selector switch is provided with which the carrier of the hearing aid can determine which of the respective sound signals, so the sound signal from the microphone or that of another Signal pickup to be heard.
- This type of signal switching lies in the fact that the wearer of the hearing aid is predominant Most of the cases the microphone for direct sound recording will use as the inductive sound sources and the like naturally much less often available stand. There is therefore a risk that the carrier of the hearing aid for the sake of convenience, in the presence of an inductive sound source to switch to the corresponding signal sensor.
- Such hearing aids become worn just forget that your hearing aid has the option offers such an alternative signal recording.
- the possibilities of such a combination hearing aid only incompletely used or the carrier of the Hearing aids often do not enjoy better signal quality of the inductive signal pickup or the like.
- a hearing aid that has at least one in addition to the microphone further, according to one of the alternative recording principles mentioned working signal pickup is off DE-A-25 10 731 known. It is a sound transducer (Microphone) and an induction reception converter are provided, whose signals via an automatically controlled gate circuit be fed to an amplifier such that the signals converted by the induction reception converter evaluated in a control circuit controlling a changeover switch and in the case of reception worthy of the amplifier the gate circuit are supplied, which of the Signals received transducer additionally recorded signals optionally with undiminished or reduced level above the gate circuit guided and in the event of failure inductively transmitted Information with undiminished level to the amplifier be activated.
- a sound transducer Microphone
- an induction reception converter are provided, whose signals via an automatically controlled gate circuit be fed to an amplifier such that the signals converted by the induction reception converter evaluated in a control circuit controlling a changeover switch and in the case of reception worthy of the amplifier the gate circuit are supplied, which of the Signals received transducer additionally recorded signals optionally with und
- the signals of the sound receiving transducer are either hand-held between three Switch positions movable switch either in the first Position of the switch with undiminished level and also in the second position with reduced level fed to the amplifier. In a third switch position of the switch is the sole transmission of that from the Induction receiving converter allows recorded signals. This gives the hearing impaired the opportunity to of your choice when receiving from an induction loop additional acoustic information via the sound receiving transducer, e.g. also environmental noises, unchanged or weakened or completely hide them.
- a disadvantage of the hearing aid according to DE-A-25 10 731 is that the signals coming from the sound receiving transducer and the signals coming from the induction receive converter the switching process between the incoming signals for continuation however, only one of these signals to the amplifier based on the reception worthiness of the induction reception converter coming signals: recognizes the control circuit a sufficiently strong signal from the induction reception converter, this signal is in the gate circuit placed on the amplifier and what was previously there Signal from sound transducer is around the gate circuit around with the switch with the three switch positions (unimpeded signal transmission - signal transmission with damping - no signal passage) placed on the amplifier input.
- the object of the present invention is a hearing aid with improved user comfort compared to known hearing aids to accomplish.
- the invention accordingly proposes the monitoring device the sound signals from the microphone and all signal pickups to have these sound signals monitored for their respective Check signal quality and by means of Switching device at least that sound signal for amplification to select the one that currently has the best signal quality having.
- the hearing aid automatically switches over to the signal pickup, depending on the respective sound source provides the best signal quality. If the wearer of the hearing aid for example, begins to make calls, records the Monitoring device according to the invention based on the output signal of the inductive signal pickup that the signal quality the inductively emitting sound source in the form of the telephone device better than that which can be achieved with the microphone Signal quality is and amplifies instead of the microphone output signal the output signal of the inductive transducer.
- the wearer of the hearing aid therefore does not have to switch manually to the desired signal source, which on the one hand makes it much more convenient to use of the hearing aid and on the other hand offers the advantage that the possibilities of the hearing aid are much better are exploited or always an optimal listening pleasure can be achieved is.
- the Monitoring device by means of the switching device such sound signal that a signal mixture of several Sound signals corresponds approximately to the same good signal quality. It is thus possible, for example, to use the microphone recorded direct sound of a telephone with the sound signal to mix the inductive signal pickup and thus the Improve overall signal quality if necessary.
- the monitoring device is determined the signal quality of the respective audio signal, for example by comparison with one for the sound signal in question specific reference value. However, it is also possible to get one To provide signal processor or the like, the compares the sound signal in question with a specific envelope or determined by spectral analysis whether the signal is of sufficient quality.
- Switching from one sound signal to another or changing the mixing ratio of several sound signals is preferably according to the invention with a predetermined Hysteresis or delay time carried out in order to prevent the timbre of the from the speaker output sound changes too often, causing irritation of the Wearer of the hearing aid reduced or avoided completely can be.
- the type or duration of the hysteresis can, if necessary set by the user of the hearing aid at will or be changed.
- the microphone of the hearing aid and the one after supply other pick-up principle working signal transducer usually sound signals with different output levels.
- the invention therefore sees another Embodiment a level adjuster before for the sound signals of the microphone and all other signal recorders each allows a separate level adjustment, whereby the monitoring device the level adjustment device so controlled that when switching from a sound signal to another or when mixing several sound signals essentially the same output volume can be achieved can. This will irritate the wearer of the Hearing aid when switching or changing the mixing ratio largely avoided.
- the hearing aid also as a hands-free device for e.g. a phone can be used.
- a such a type of speakerphone even works then when the speaker of the phone is handsfree is completely reduced so that only the wearer of the Hearing aid is able to put the participant on the other end heard on the phone line.
- the phone the incoming call is not inductive, but by means of infrared, Ultrasound or other suitable means of transmission handsfree works also via one to the respective transmission medium designed signal pickups in the hearing aid.
- Such a “hearing aid” is not just for people suitable with hearing loss, but for people without hearing loss as a speakerphone z. B. in motor vehicles or in the office for "frequent callers".
- a particularly preferred one Use of such an inventive "Hearing Aid” consists in providing an additional one Communication channel for computer or PC users.
- Many PCs today are equipped with a so-called sound card, by means of which language can also be generated. Become these sound signals inductively, by means of IR or ultrasound, etc. issued by the PC, an acoustic communication channel provided with the computer that no other Disturbing person in the immediate vicinity. The reaction the computer user can be done via the keyboard, so that there is also no interference with other people.
- Such a thing Hearing aid according to the invention is also for computer and video games that work with the ones they produce Background noise is often very distracting.
- the hearing aid according to the invention has Sound signal sources a microphone 10 for direct sound recording as well as two further signal pickups 11 and 12.
- the Microphone 10 is, for example, an electrostatic microphone and generates an electrical sound signal in a known manner.
- the first signal pickup 11 is concerned for example, an inductive transducer that is in the Is able to pick up electromagnetic waves inductively and generate a corresponding sound signal.
- the signal pickup 11 can thus be used to accommodate e.g. a phone output electromagnetic signals used become.
- the second signal pickup 12 is, for example an infrared sensor that is suitably modulated infrared Receives signals and converts them into a sound signal.
- the respective sound signal of the microphone 10 and the two Signal pickups 11 and 12 are connected to a respective one Input connection of a switching device 20.
- the switching device 20 is capable of one of the adjacent ones Select audio signals and a corresponding output signal to generate that fed to an amplifier 30 becomes.
- the amplifier 30 has a known structure, so that further explanations are unnecessary.
- the switching device 20 is still able to at least two of the supplied audio signals are mixed signals to generate, which is then fed to the amplifier 30.
- the output signal of the amplifier 30 is at a loudspeaker 64 so that the wearer of the hearing aid is able to is the respective amplified sound signal or sound signal mixture to listen.
- a monitoring device is also in accordance with the invention 25 provided on which also the respective sound signal the microphone 10 and the two signal pickups 11 and 12 is present.
- the monitoring device 25 monitors these sound signals to their respective signal quality and selects at least one via the switching device 20 Sound signal for further amplification, which is currently the best signal quality. If two or all three these signal sources have an approximately equally good signal quality have, the monitoring device 25 causes the Switching device 20 for generating a suitably mixed Tone signal.
- the monitor 25 compares each sound signal e.g. with a specific for the sound signal in question Reference value, only if the relevant one is exceeded Adequate signal quality is assumed for the reference value becomes. However, the signal quality can also be achieved using a signal processor determined by spectral analysis or the like become. If the signal in question is an identifier contains, which is only sent with sufficient quality, can the monitoring device 25 contain a circuit the on such (possibly continuously included or only sent at the beginning of the transmission) and "releases" the signal in question.
- the monitor 25 a circuit that each Change only after a predetermined period of time or with a certain hysteresis.
- This hysteresis can be further developed by means of a selector switch or the like changed by the user be so that each user of the hearing aid the optimal Select the mode of operation of the monitoring device 25 yourself can.
- FIG. 2 is a second embodiment of the invention shown that is from the first embodiment characterized in that a level adjustment device for each sound signal 21, 22 and 23 is provided.
- the other elements of this hearing aid correspond to those of the Embodiment of FIG. 1, which is why a renewed Explanation of these elements is omitted.
- the microphone 10 usually has a different sensitivity than that two signal pickups 11 and 12.
- the additional Level adjustment devices 21 to 23 it is the Monitoring device 25, however, possible the output level the sound signals so that when switching from one sound signal to another or when mixing several Sound signals essentially the same output volume can be achieved. From Fig. 2 it can also be seen that the level-changed output signal of each level adjustment device 21 to 23 fed to a device 24 the selection or mixing of these are compared Performs signals.
- both embodiments - Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 - lets easily in cooperation with the hands-free system on the phone a hands-free function for the Realize hearing aid wearer.
- the voice of the participant at the other end of the line is inductively connected to the Hearing aid transmitted. That spoken by the hearing aid wearer is on the microphone of the speakerphone on Telephone transferred to the subscriber on the other end of the line.
