Definitions
- the invention relates to a translucent plate member having an outer frame, the a plate-shaped base body at its outer edge surrounds all sides, wherein the base body consists of at least one plate blank of a translucent hollow panel, which is made of thermoplastic material, preferably polycarbonate, two im Having spaced apart layers and these interconnecting webs has and by the cover layers and webs contains limited hollow chambers.
- Such translucent plate elements are used in construction and horticulture in greenhouses and cold frames in place of provided with window glass as a translucent body Glass windows used.
- rectangular, translucent plate elements consists of translucent, plate-shaped base body each of a rectangular plate blank a highly transparent hollow chamber panel of highly transparent polycarbonate, during the Frame of four, on the straight longitudinal or transverse edges of the respective rectangular, highly transparent Hollow chamber plate plugged, straight aluminum profiles with U-section and four arranged at the corners of the plate member Kunststoffeck time is formed, the connect the aluminum profiles with each other in pairs.
- the one out of the four aluminum profiles and the four plastic corners existing frame surrounds the outer edge of the rectangular, highly transparent hollow panel on all sides and covers the open ends of the hollow chambers outwards.
- the aluminum profiles of the frame are made of highly transparent with the hollow panel Polycarbonate only mechanically connected by clamp connections.
- a high-transparent hollow chamber panel made of polycarbonate in an extrusion process consists of two mutually parallel and spaced apart, planar cover layers or thin films and from numerous to the two outer layers or films vertical and parallel to the extrusion direction of the hollow chamber plate webs, the are arranged transversely to the extrusion direction at a distance from each other and the two outer layers or film together and keep at the same time at a distance.
- the extruded, highly transparent hollow panels made of highly transparent polycarbonate in the English-speaking world referred to as polycarbonate structural sheets) contain numerous, in the extrusion direction elongated and transverse to the extrusion direction side by side arranged hollow chambers, which lie between the two cover layers of the hollow chamber plate and separated by the webs or laterally limited.
- the hollow chamber plate At the edges running transversely to the extrusion direction the hollow chamber plate are the cells formed by their hollow chambers in each case to the outside open.
- the cell walls formed by the polycarbonate outer layers and webs The hollow chambers are very flexible and lead even at very low wall thickness, due the cellular structure of the hollow chamber plate, a high inherent rigidity of the hollow chamber plate.
- Extruded highly transparent cellular sheets of the same thickness, based on the mutual Distance between their two outer layers, have in comparison to extruded aluminum profiles relatively large, production-related deviations in the plate thickness.
- Highly transparent polycarbonate sheets are compared to the same size and size equally thick glass plates made of conventional window glass much lighter and practical unbreakable. In addition, they have an excellent because of their cellular structure Thermal insulation and low sound conductivity.
- the translucent plate element encompasses the U-profile in each case an edge region of the relevant polycarbonate hollow panel, wherein the base of the U-profile, the open ends of the hollow chambers at the plate edge of the hollow chamber plate covering, while its two profile legs of the top or the bottom the hollow chamber plate are arranged adjacent and parallel to the top or the Extend underside of the hollow chamber plate.
- the two profile legs of the metal profile at their free ends over the entire length of the U-profile in each case except for one another To press distance to each other, which is smaller than the minimum plate thickness of the polycarbonate cellular board.
- the hollow chamber plate is through the free edges of the profile legs squeezed on their facings and webs, with the compressed and up Buckling claimed, elastic webs of the hollow chamber plate not very durable clamping action create this connection.
- plastic dowels are each provided with pointed, blade-shaped ends, with which they are transverse to their insertion direction extending webs of the hollow chamber plate when inserted into the respective aluminum U-P profile cut through to their subsequent to the top clamping section between the two cover layers of the hollow chamber plate transversely to their webs in the respective edge region to introduce the hollow chamber plate.
- the known translucent panel elements cover the aluminum U-Pprofile of outer frame with their base portions in each case the open ends of the hollow chambers at the edge of the plate the respective, made of a highly transparent polycarbonate hollow panel Panel blank outward without sealing the hollow chambers at their open ends.
- forms inside the hollow chambers for example by condensation or rain, causing moisture, which is microscopic with airborne small spores after a short time in the edge region of the respective highly transparent plate blank leads to unsightly algae growth.
- the highly transparent panel cut in intense sunlight so far heated that the algae inside the Hollow chambers die off, it remains a black coating on the insides of the hollow chambers reducing and reducing the translucency of the highly transparent panel blank unattractive appearance with it brings.
- This black coating on the insides of the hollow chambers is at each renewed occurrence of moisture inside the hollow chambers in each order one piece larger and can not do without destroying the translucent plate member the hollow chambers are removed, because these are covered by the aluminum profiles of the frame and therefore are inaccessible.
- disassembling the translucent plate element in his Items would have the mechanical connections between the polycarbonate hollow panel and the aluminum profiles of the frame are dissolved, resulting in no destruction of the respective Hohicroplatte or their outer layers is not possible.
- the object of the invention is to provide translucent plate elements having a reinforced Own edge and in which the hollow chambers of the respective translucent plate blank the plate-shaped body are sealed to the outside.
- a translucent plate member in which an outer frame surrounding a plate-shaped body at its outer edge on all sides and wherein the base body of at least one plate blank of a translucent Consists of a hollow panel made of thermoplastic material, preferably polycarbonate, is made, two spaced-apart cover layers and these together has connecting webs and contains through the outer layers and lands limited hollow chambers.
- This translucent plate member according to the invention is characterized in that a along at least a part of the entire edge of the body with this in one piece connected plastic frame is provided, which consists of a plastic whose melting point is lower than that of the hollow chamber plate and the open at the edge of the body Hollow chambers of the respective plate blank closes and seals to the outside.
- translucent plate elements are the outer ends of the hollow chambers in the edge region of the base body by the integral with the base body plastic frame not only sealed but also adigeichtet, so that during the use of the Plate element also no microscopic spores can penetrate into the hollow chambers.
- the main body in Edge area for closing the hollow chambers compressed and with a hollow chambers tightly closing plastic frame is overmoulded.
- a highly transparent, elastic plastic existing and elastically compressed at its edges Basic body is provided, which is integral with the on the elastically compressed edge the base body sprayed plastic frame is formed.
- the plate blank of the main body is formed by a hollow chamber plate of highly transparent polycarbonate and the molded on the elastically compressed edges of the body plastic frame consists of a glass fiber-added, UV-stabilized polystyrene.
- the hollow chambers are before inserting the respective plate blank dried in the injection mold and any microscopic spores from the Hot air filtered out. Subsequently, the hollow chambers are closed by the injection mold and at their outer ends with the plastic frame overmoulded, so that in the air existing microscopic spores no longer from the outside into through the plastic frame can penetrate tightly closed hollow chambers.
- Figure 1 shows a rectangular, as a window trained plate element in plan view and Figure 2 is a section through the translucent Plate element of the figure along the line II - II in Figure 1.
- the translucent plate member 1 has an outer frame 2, which is a plate-shaped Base body 3 at its outer edge surrounds all sides.
- the main body consists of a plate blank of a translucent hollow chamber plate 4, which in turn made of thermoplastic Plastic, preferably highly transparent polycarbonate.

- the hollow chamber plate 4 contains through the cover layers 5, 6 and webs 7 limited hollow chambers 8.
- the hollow chamber plate 4 is flat at its outer edge and compressed flat with this Received edge region 9 in the sprayed onto this edge region 9 frame 2.
- the flat in this edge region 9 compressed hollow chambers 8 are of the plastic frame 2 closed and sealed to the outside.
- the plastic of the plastic frame 2 has a lower melting point than the highly transparent polycarbonate of the hollow panel. This plastic is preferably a glass fiber-added, UV-stabilized Polystyrene.
- the hollow chamber plate may also consist of acrylic.
- the frame 2 can all be for the connection the translucent plate member with another translucent plate member or a sidewall of a cold frame or a brick wall, etc. required fasteners, like hinges and the like, included. The same applies to handles and others Actuators for moving the plate member or for locking the plate member in a certain position opposite a side wall of a cold frame or a brick wall Etc.
- the frame 2 can be self-contained to the inherent rigidity of the translucent To increase plate element.
- the frame 2 but only two opposite each other Bars exist that the hollow chambers of the plate blank only at the transverse to the longitudinal direction Close the hollow chambers extending edges of the plate blank.
