Claims (20)

  1. Schalldämpfungsverfahren, das aufweist:
    (a) Bereitstellen einer Schalldämmung (10), die eine geformte dreidimensionale Faservliesbahn umfaßt, die organische Mikrofasern (12) und mindestens 15 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14) enthält, wobei die wärmeaktivierbaren Stapelfasern (14) an verschiedenen Kontaktstellen aneinander und an die Mikrofasern (12) gebunden sind, und wobei die Faservliesbahn eine Dicke von mindestens 0,5 cm und eine Dichte von weniger als 250 kg/m3 aufweist; und
    (b) Anordnen der Schalldämmung (10) zwischen einem Quellenbereich und einem Empfangsbereich, so daß eine Hauptfläche der Dämmung (10) vom Quellenbereich zum Empfangsbereich laufende Schallwellen auffängt und dadurch wesentlich dämpft.
  2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn ferner Bauschstapelfasern (16) aufweist.
  3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn 0,75 bis 20 cm, vorzugsweise 1 bis 10 cm, und stärker bevorzugt 2 bis 5 cm dick ist.
  4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn eine Dichte von etwa 6 bis 200 kg/m3, vorzugsweise von etwa 10 bis 100 kg/m3, und stärker bevorzugt von 15 bis 30 kg/m3 aufweist.
  5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn eine Biegefestigkeit von 1 bis 40 psi (6,9 × 10-3 bis 2,8 × 10-1 MPa), vorzugsweise von 5 bis 20 psi (3,5 × 10-3 bis 1,4 × 10-1MPa), stärker bevorzugt von 10 bis 15 psi (6,9 × 10-2 bis 1 × 10-1 MPa) aufweist.
  6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn ein Flächengewicht von 50 bis 4000 g/m2, vorzugsweise von 150 bis 2000 g/m2, stärker bevorzugt von 200 bis 1000 g/m2 aufweist.
  7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn einenLuftdruckabfall von 0,1 bis 15 mm H2O, vorzugsweise von mehr als 0,2 mm H2O), stärker bevorzugt von mehr als 0.3 mm H2O aufweist.
  8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn eine prozentuale Faserdichtigkeit von 0,5 bis 4, vorzugsweise von 1 bis 3, stärker bevorzugt von 1,5 bis 2,5 aufweist.
  9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn einen mittleren effektiven Faserdurchmesser von 2 bis 20 µm, vorzugsweise von 5 bis 17 µm, stärker bevorzugt von 7 bis 16 µm aufweist.
  10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Faservliesbahn 20 bis 80 Gew.-% organische Mikrofasern (12) und 15 bis 70 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14) enthält, bezogen auf das Gewicht des in der Bahn enthaltenen Fasermaterials.
  11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, wobei die Faservliesbahn, bezogen auf das Gewicht des in der Bahn enthaltenen Fasermaterials, 20 bis 80 Gew.-% organische Mikrofasern (12), 20 bis 70 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14) und 1 bis 30 Gew.-% Bauschstapelfasern (16), vorzugsweise 20 bis 70 Gew.-% organische Mikrofasern (12), 30 bis 50 Gew.-% gekräuselte wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14) und 3 bis 6 Gew.-% gekräuselte Bauschstapelfasern (16) enthält.
  12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die wärmeaktivierbaren Stapelfasern (14) eine Länge von 15 bis 75 mm aufweisen.
  13. Schalldämmung (10), die eine geformte, dreidimensionale Faservliesbahn aufweist, die enthält:
    (a) organische Mikrofasern (12); und
    (b) mindestens 15 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14), die an verschiedenen Kontaktstellen aneinander und an die Mikrofasern (12) gebunden sind.
  14. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 13, wobei die Faservliesbahn 0,75 bis 20 cm dick ist, eine Dichte von 6 bis 200 kg/m3, eine Biegefestigkeit von 1 bis 40 psi (6,9 × 10-3 bis 2,8 × 10-1 MPa), ein Flächengewicht von 50 bis 4000 g/m2, einen Luftdruckabfall von 0,1 bis 15 mm H2O, eine prozentuale Faserdichtigkeit von 0,5 bis 4 und einen mittleren effektiven Faserdurchmesser von 2 bis 20 µm aufweist.
  15. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 14, wobei die Faservliesbahn 1 bis 10 cm dick ist, eine Dichte von 10 bis 100 kg/m3, eine Biegefestigkeit von 5 bis 20 psi (3,5 × 10-2 bis 1,4 × 10-1 MPa), ein Flächengewicht von 150 bis 2000 g/m2, einen Luftdruckabfall von mehr als 0,2 mm H2O, eine prozentuale Faserdichtigkeit von 1 bis 3 und einen mittleren effektiven Faserdurchmesser von 5 bis 17 µm aufweist.
  16. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 13, wobei die Faservliesbahn 20 bis 80 Gew.-% organische Mikrofasern (12), 15 bis 70 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare Stapelfasern (14) und 1 bis 30 Gew.-% Bauschstapelfasern (16), vorzugsweise 20 bis 80 Gew.-% organische Mikrofasern (12), 30 bis 50 Gew.-% wärmeaktivierbare gekräuselte Stapelfasern (14) und 3 bis 6 Gew.-% gekräuselte Bauschstapelfasern (16) aufweist.
  17. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 13 oder Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei die organischen Mikrofasern (12) aus schmelzgeblasenen Mikrofasern mit einem Durchmesser von 1 bis 25 µm bestehen.
  18. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 17 oder Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , wobei die schmelzgeblasenen Mikrofasern einen Durchmesser von etwa 2 bis 15 um aufweisen, und wobei die wärmeaktivierbaren Stapelfasern (14) Kräuselfasern mit 1 bis 10 Kräuselungen pro cm sind.
  19. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 16 oder Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, wobei die wärmeaktivierbaren Stapelfasern (14) 3 bis 5 Kräuselungen pro cm aufweisen, und wobei die Bauschstapelfasern (16) gekräuselt sind und 1 bis 10 Kräuselungen pro cm aufweisen, Feinheiten von 3 bis 75 Denier und eine mittlere Länge von 2 bis 15 cm aufweisen.
  20. Schalldämmung (10) nach Anspruch 16 oder Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, wobei die organischen Mikrofasern (12) schmelzgeblasene Polypropylen-Mikrofasern sind, die in der Bahn in einem Anteil von etwa 55 Gew.-% vorhanden sind, wobei die wärmeaktivierbaren Stapelfasern (14) Zweikomponentenfasern mit einem Copolyestermantel und einem Polyesterkern sind und in der Faservliesbahn in einem Anteil von etwa 40,5 Gew.-% vorhanden sind, und wobei die Bauschstapelfasern (16) gekräuselte Polyesterterephthalat-Bauschstapelfasern mit einer Feinheit von 50 Denier sind, die in der Faservliesbahn in einem Anteil von etwa 4,5 Gew.-% vorhanden sind.
