Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung sind eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zum Entfernen von langfaserigen Fremdstoffen aus Tabak vor dessen Weiterverarbeitung zu Zigaretten. Die Vorrichtung weist mehrere parallel nebeneinander angeordnete Walzen 5 auf, die an ihrem Außenumfang mit einer Vielzahl von radial nach außen gerichteten Nadeln 7 versehen sind und in gleicher Drehrichtung umlaufen. Die obenliegenden Umfangsflächen der Walzen bewegen sich dadurch im wesentlichen in derselben Richtung und bewegen den auf die in dieser Bewegungsrichtung hintersten Walze aufgegebenen Tabak nacheinander bis zu der vordersten Walze. Kleine Tabakteilchen, die zwischen den Walzen durchfallen, werden darunter aufgefangen und dem übrigen Tabak wieder beigemischt. Langfaserige Teile wie Jutefasern und Bindfäden werden von den Nadeln mitgenommen und um eine der Walzen gewickelt, so daß sie sich nicht mehr ohne Fremdeinwirkung von dieser lösen können. Es ist vorgesehen, die Reinigung der Walzen 5 über eine Reinigungsvorrichtung 10 durchzuführen.
