Definitions
- the invention relates to an insulation displacement contact element according to the preamble of claim 1.
- An insulation displacement contact element of the generic type is previously known from DE 31 16 731 C2.
- This contact element consists of a flat sheet metal blank made of leaf-shaped, springy contact material mutually parallel outer edges, a window-like punching with a self-contained arc-shaped outer border, which merges into the parallel outer edges of the sheet metal blank, and a contact slot with an insertion opening, starting from the window-like punching, with mutually facing inner cutting edges, which are attached to the inside of contact legs are formed by a crescent-shaped free cut surrounding them.
- the self-contained outer border surrounding the window-like cut-out is bent around a bending line that extends above the insertion opening transversely to the axial direction of the contact slot by 180 ° on the back of the insulation displacement contact element and lies flat against the crescent-shaped recess around the contact leg receiving fork legs.
- the known insulation displacement contact element is to have contact legs which, with several degrees of freedom of movement, deflect resiliently or should contact the metallic conductors of the lead wires to be clamped in to compensate for tolerances.
- bending center zones are to be formed at the end of the clamping contact leg facing the insertion opening and at the opposite end of the fork leg, around which a spring-elastic pivoting is possible.
- the disadvantage here is the relatively high stiffness of the insulation displacement contact element, despite the bending center zones, due to the double-walled nature of the 180 ° on the rear of the insulation displacement contact element curved, self-contained outer border surrounding the window-like cut-out.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of further improving the spring properties of the generic insulation displacement contact element.
- the invention provides that the outer edges parallel to the contact slot are provided with cutouts in the area of the wire contacting zone of the contact slot.
- better spring properties are achieved with the same size of the insulation displacement contact element according to the invention in relation to the previously known insulation displacement contact element.
- it is also possible, with the same spring properties to reduce the size of the insulation displacement contact element according to the invention compared to the previously known insulation displacement contact element, or to use a spring material as the contact material which has poorer spring properties compared to the standard material.
- the cross sections of the lateral contact legs in the area of the wire contacting zone become smaller, which results in smaller moments of inertia and resistance and results in a higher deformability.
- the contact properties are thus improved by twisting the contact legs and adapting them to different wire diameters. Overall, a significant improvement in the spring properties can be achieved.
- the features of claim 5 relate to the formation of an insulation displacement contact element with a U-shaped slot crossing with its base slot, which embodiment has a significant improvement in the spring properties with respect to such an insulation displacement contact element, the outer edges of which run continuously parallel to one another.
- the features of claim 6 ensure that when such an insulation displacement contact element is installed obliquely in the housing of a terminal block, no supporting forces act on the housing. At the same time, an improvement in the bending stresses is achieved through greater stiffness of the insulation displacement contact element in the region of the V-shaped insertion opening.
- the insulation displacement contact element 1 according to the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1 consists of leaf-shaped, resilient contact material with a contact slot 2 provided with a V-shaped insertion opening 3. This has two opposite parallel cutting edges 4 on the inner sides of the contact limbs delimiting the contact slot 2 5 on.
- a non-stripped line wire 6 is pressed into the contact slot 2, the insulation 8 of which is cut by the cutting edges 4 and the metallic conductor 7 is electrically contacted by the contact legs 5.
- an insulation displacement contact element 1 is inserted into a housing of a terminal strip made of plastic, not shown, wherein the insulation displacement contact element 1 is arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the lead wire 6 or at an angle thereto, which is preferably 45 °, with others Angles are possible.
- the outer edges 9 of the insulation displacement contact element 1, which are preferably parallel to the contact slot 2, but also run obliquely to one another, are provided with cutouts 10 in the area of the wire contacting zone of the contact slot 2, that is to say the longitudinal central region of the contact slot 2, the length L of which is approximately the length 1 of the wire contacting zone of the contact slot 2 and its width B corresponds approximately to the width b of the contact material of the contact limbs 5 present between the cutouts 10 and the contact slot 2.
- the recesses 10 are provided with inclined surfaces 11 running against one another on the end sides.
- the inner end 12 of the contact slot 2 opposite the V-shaped insertion opening 3 is provided with triangular lateral cutouts 13 which enlarge the width of the inner end 12 compared to the width of the contact slot 2 and merge into a semicircle 14 that closes the latter.
- the lateral recesses 10, which are arranged essentially continuously in the longitudinal central region of the contact slot 2, and the triangular cutouts 13 and the semicircle 14 at the inner end 12 of the contact slot 2 result in improved suspension in the contact area.
- the contact properties are additionally improved with regard to their spring properties in that the twisting of the contact legs 5 and an adaptation to different diameters of the lead wires 6 are improved. Overall, there is a significant improvement in the spring properties.
- the free, upper ends of the contact limbs 5 are connected to one another above the V-shaped insertion opening 3 by means of a bow-like web 15, which includes a closed V-shaped insertion opening 23.
- This improves the rigidity of the insulation displacement contact element 1.
- the base slot 16 is a U-shaped slot 17 with the end opposite the V-shaped insertion opening 3 of the contact slot 2 cross-connected and the side slots 18 of the U-shaped slot 17 are directed towards the insertion opening 3.
- the outer edges 9 parallel to the contact slot 2 are provided with cutouts 10 in the region of the wire contacting zone of the contact slot 2, as a result of which a marked improvement in the spring properties of the insulation displacement contact element 1 is achieved.
- a double suspension is achieved in the contact area, the two cutting edges 4 of the contact legs 25 of the contact slot 2 always remaining parallel even when loaded with a lead wire 6.
- the V-shaped insertion opening 3 is bridged by a bow-like web 15, which bridges the free ends of the contact limbs 5 in the region of the insertion opening 3 connects together and forms a closed, V-shaped insertion opening 23. Properties similar to those obtained with the subject matter of the second embodiment according to FIG. 2 are thereby achieved.
- the fifth embodiment shown in FIG. 5 corresponds in its basic structure to the first embodiment of the insulation displacement contact element 1 shown in FIG. 1.
- the contact slot 2 is of exactly the same design with the inner end 12, but the V-shaped insertion opening 3 has radii 19 to rounded to the outer, upper end of the contact leg 26.
- the cutouts 10 on the outer sides of the contact legs 5 are rounded off with radii 20 instead of the inclined surfaces 13 according to FIG. 1.
- the corner shown on the left in FIG. 5 between the left outer edge 9 and the lower outer edge 22 is rounded off with a large radius 21. All of these structural changes contribute to improving the spring properties of the insulation displacement contact element 1.
- the outer cutouts 24 are in the form of a curve as a polygon, parabola or the like. formed, which give the insulation displacement contact element 1, which is closed on all outer edges, the appearance of an hourglass.
- the contact slot 2 extends between two circularly rounded insertion openings 28. In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the insertion opening 28 merges into the contact slot 2 via a wedge-shaped incision area 29.
Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- die Ansicht der ersten Ausführungsform,
- Fig. 2
- Fig. 3
- die Ansicht der dritten Ausführungsform,
- Fig. 4
- Fig. 5
- die Ansicht der fünften Ausführungsform,
- Fig. 6
- die Ansicht der sechsten Ausführungsform und
