Definitions

  • the invention relates to a waterproof connection device for retrofitting the inside of a water-permeable garment with a functional layer garment with a waterproof, water vapor-permeable functional layer.
  • Retrofitting is to be understood here to mean both the initial retrofitting of an item of clothing that has already been manufactured, for which no functional layer was originally intended, with a functional layer garment, as well as the reintroduction into the garment of a functional layer garment that has been temporarily removed from the garment.
  • Garments with such a functional layer have also proven particularly useful for work clothing, for example for the German armed forces, police and fire service, or as work protective clothing.
  • the invention provides a waterproof connection device for retrofitting the inside of a water-permeable garment with a functional layer garment with a waterproof, water vapor-permeable functional layer, the connection device being characterized by a functional layer strip with a first functional layer strip long side, which has a longitudinal edge of the functional layer garment, and with an opposite second functional layer strip long side, on which a functional layer cover strip is provided, an outer connecting strip with a first outer connecting strip longitudinal side edge, which is fastened between the two functional layer strip long sides on the outside of the functional layer strip, and with an opposite second outer terminal strip longitudinal side edge, that with the dress is connectable, and an inner connecting strip with a first inner connecting strip longitudinal side edge, which is provided in the area of the functional layer cover strip on the functional layer strip, and with an opposite second inner connecting strip longitudinal side edge, which has to be arranged on the inside of the functional layer strip and below the functional layer covering strip.
  • Closure device for closing and opening the functional garment is connectable.
  • connection devices With two such connection devices, which are rotated by 180 ° relative to one another in a plane parallel to the outer material of the garment, a garment can be subsequently equipped with a functional layered garment. This is done either by means of a releasable locking device between the connection device and the garment if the functional layer garment is to be releasably connected to the garment, or by sewing if the functional layer garment does not need to be removed again.
  • the connecting device according to the invention is not only advantageous if the garment is to be equipped with a functional layer garment in a detachable manner, but the connecting device according to the invention is also suitable for retrofitting a garment that is initially not lined with a functional layer with a functional layer , in the form of a functional layer garment which can be fastened to the garment by means of the connecting device.
  • connection device in a further development of the connection device according to the invention, further connection options are provided for the detachable connection of a lining garment.
  • the garment can be worn without a functional layer garment and without a lining garment, in combination only with the functional layer garment or in combination with both the functional layer garment and the lining garment.
  • both the functional item of clothing and the lining item of clothing are also designed as a jacket, in terms of shape and size to match the jacket with which they are to be combined.
  • the vest can also be made of a very light, highly air-permeable fabric which is provided, for example, with air passage holes which have a hole diameter of, for example, about 5 mm. This material should preferably not absorb water. If the wearer of the vest gets too hot, he separates the vest from the functional layer jacket, takes off the functional layer jacket and wears the vest alone. It can either be provided that the vest has its own closure device, for example in the form of a vest zipper. In this case, the vest can be left open or closed if it is worn without a functional layer jacket. The possibility of closing the vest worn alone will be particularly important if the vest is to serve as protection for the waist area of the vest wearer during certain work. Or the vest does not have its own fastener.
  • the vest would also be kept essentially closed by closing the front closure of the functional layer jacket.
  • the two zipper halves which are fastened to the vest and serve to connect the connection devices according to the invention, with which the functional layer jacket can be connected to the vest can be used to close the vest worn alone.
  • the zippers of the two connecting devices according to the invention, with which the two front zipper edges of the functional layer jacket can be connected to the vest would be designed in such a way that the two zipper halves leading to the Serve connection of the two connection devices according to the invention, can also occur with a zipper effect.
  • a vest made of very light, highly air-permeable fabric is advantageous, for example, when the wearer of the vest is exposed to solar radiation and the vest is also intended to serve as sun protection.
  • Such a vest is advantageous, for example, in professions in which the wearer of the vest works outdoors but does not require any special mechanical protection for his upper body in the form of a vest. Roofers are an example of such a profession.
  • a vest that can be worn in combination or separately from a functional layer jacket can, for example, also be equipped with fluorescent colors or strips, for example for use by garbage collectors, road workers or railway shunters. It is possible to manufacture the functional layer jacket with a different, cheaper or easier to process outer material than the vest. In many cases it is also advantageous if the material of the vest is highly wash-resistant.
  • the shunters already mentioned, for example, have to wear garments with fluorescent colors for safety reasons, but at the same time they work in a polluting environment, the fluorescent color quickly becoming dirty and their function no longer being guaranteed.
  • a vest used in this profession if it is made of highly durable material, would not only offer the shunter mechanical protection during his dangerous work but should also be made of highly wash-resistant material, so that it would often and with hard washing methods and therefore easily washable .
  • Functional layer jackets should be washed more gently because of the functional layer with which they are built. Such functional layer jackets should, for example, only be washed at temperatures up to 60 ° C.
  • the vest can also be equipped with a number of pockets or fashionable accessories.
  • the vest and the functional layer jacket are separate, separable items of clothing, such bags and accessories can easily be sewn onto the vest without the functional layer jacket being affected in any way.
  • the bags can be made watertight by arranging inserts in the area of the bags with a laminate having a functional layer.
  • the vest can be repaired separately from the functional layer jacket or can be fitted with patches, for example, since the vest itself has no functional layer that should be taken into account.
  • connection device according to the invention is preferably prefabricated as a separate component. This is done, for example, by the manufacturer of functional layer material, who has the necessary technologies and equipment to manufacture the connection device in such a way that it is not only waterproof itself, but also does not impair the waterproofness of the item of clothing equipped with two such connection devices and one functional layer garment.
  • the prefabricated connection device is then delivered to the assembler, who inserts it into the items of clothing that he produces.
  • connection device is preferably used to connect the connection device to the garment, the functional layer garment and, if appropriate, the lining garment. Velcro fasteners or snap fasteners can also be used. You can also combine these different types of closures.
  • connection device for example zipper halves
  • connection device for example zipper halves
  • the assembler then only needs to attach the complementary parts of such connection devices, for example the complementary zipper sides, to the garment, the functional layer garment and, if appropriate, the lining garment.
  • Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a first embodiment of a waterproof connection device according to the invention.
  • This comprises a functional layer strip 13 which is provided with a waterproof, water vapor permeable functional layer.
  • the functional layer is preferably formed with a carrier textile on at least one side as a composite material.
  • the functional layer strip 13 is provided in one piece with a functional layer cover strip 15.
  • the functional layer strip 13 is connected on a left side in FIG. 1 of the functional layer strip long side 17 by means of a first sewing seam 19 to a long side edge 21 of a functional layer garment.
  • the first sewing seam 19 is sealed by means of a waterproof sweatband 23.
  • An outer connecting strip 27 is fastened to the outside of the functional layer strip 13 pointing upwards in FIG. 1 by means of a first adhesive seam 25 made of waterproof adhesive material.
  • a first zipper side 33 is sewn onto a first outer connecting strip longitudinal side edge 31 on the left in FIG. 1 for connection to a piece of clothing not shown in the drawing by means of a complementary zipper side.
  • the outer connecting strip 27 on the right side of the adhesive seam 25 has the same extent as the functional layer cover strip 15.
  • the functional layer cover strip 15 and the outer connecting strip 27 are connected to one another by means of a second adhesive seam 35 made of a waterproof adhesive material.
  • a first inner connecting strip longitudinal side edge 40 and a lining connecting strip 41 are fastened in one piece by means of a third adhesive seam 37 made of waterproof adhesive material from an inner connecting strip 39.
  • a second zipper side 49 is sewn onto a second inner connecting strip longitudinal side edge 42 of the inner connecting strip 39 by means of a third sewing seam 47, which side serves to releasably close the functional layer jacket.
  • On the feed connector strip 41 a third zipper side 53 is sewn by means of a fourth sewing seam 51 for the connection of a lining jacket.
  • the functional layer strip 13 with the functional layer cover strip 15, the outer connecting strip 27, the inner connecting strip 39 and the lining connecting strip 41 are each constructed with a waterproof, water vapor-permeable functional layer. This is not absolutely necessary for the outer connecting strip 27, the inner connecting strip 39 and the lining connecting strip 41.
  • the sewing seams 19, 29, 47 and 51 are designed as fall seams.
  • Fig. 2 shows a schematic partial view of a front closure area of a garment with two connecting devices 11 and 11 'according to the invention.
  • the two connection devices 11 and 11 ' are identical to one another. They are just differently aligned.
  • the two connection devices 11 and 11 ' are rotated by 180 ° relative to one another in a plane parallel to the material plane of a jacket 55.
  • connection device 11 Because of this identity, the individual parts of the connection device 11 'are not explained again. Their individual areas are identified by the same reference numerals as those used for the connection device 11, but provided with an apostrophe to distinguish them.
  • connection devices 11 and 11 'shown in FIG. 2 largely correspond to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1. • the jacket 55 has a left closure edge 57 and a right closure edge 57 '.
  • a fourth zip fastener side 59 and 59 ' is fastened to each of the two fastener edges 57 and 57' and serves to fasten the jacket 55.
  • a fifth zipper side 58 or 58 ' is fastened to each fastener edge 57, 57' and cooperates with the first zipper side 33 or 33 'to connect the connecting device 11 or 11' to the fastener edge 57 or 57 '.
  • a fifth sewing seam 61 or 61 ' is used for this fastening.
  • the material of the jacket 55 is permeable to water. Water that penetrates the jacket 55 and / or its zipper 59, 59 'can indeed pass through zippers 33, 58 and 33', 58 'and through the second sewing seams 29 and 29'. There, however, the functional layer jacket with the longitudinal side edges 21, 21 ', the functional layer strips 13, 13' and the functional layer cover strips 15, 15 'located one above the other prevent it from penetrating further.
  • the adhesive seams 25, 25 'and 37, 37' prevent water from creeping forward parallel to the functional layer strips 13, 13 'and the functional layer cover strips 15, 15'.
  • the zipper 49, 49 'for closing the functional layer jacket is protected against the ingress of water by the functional layer cover strips 15, 15'.
  • Fig. 3 shows an embodiment with two connection devices 11 and 11 ', each of which corresponds to the connection device 11 shown in Fig. 1 except for the difference that the outer connection strips 27, 27' do not extend over the functional layer cover strips 15, 15 'but at the first adhesive seams 25, 25 'end.
  • the connection of the two connection devices 11, 11 'to the jacket 55 takes place in exactly the same way as in the embodiment shown in FIG. 2.
  • the connection devices 11, 11 'of the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 like the connecting device 11 in FIG. 1, lining connecting strips 41, 41'. Due to the otherwise existing correspondence with FIG. 2, the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 need not be explained further.
  • Fig. 4 shows an embodiment with two connecting devices 63 and 63 ', the structure of which differs from the embodiments shown in Figs. 1 to 3 in that both the fourth adhesive seams 67, 67' and the fifth adhesive seam 69, 69 'as a replacement for the first adhesive seams 25, 25 'or for the third adhesive seams 37, 37' are arranged on the outside of the respective functional layer strip 13 or 13 '.
  • External connecting strips 27, 27 ' are fastened to the functional layer strips 13, 13' by means of the fourth adhesive seams 67, 67 '.
  • the functional layer cover strips 15, 15 ' are attached to the functional layer strips 13 with the aid of the fifth adhesive seams 69, 69'.
