Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for continuous watering photographic Materials from at least one tank filled with a liquid and two Rows of stacked pairs of rollers above the liquid level of the Tanks.
- the photographic material goes through as part of the photographic processing (Films / papers) a multi-stage process e.g. Developing, watering, bleaching, watering, Fixing, watering, stabilizing, drying or developing, fixing, watering, Dry.
- a multi-stage process e.g. Developing, watering, bleaching, watering, Fixing, watering, stabilizing, drying or developing, fixing, watering, Dry.
- wipers are also used before and after the individual processing stages used to reduce the carryover of the solutions. Used are used for the stated purposes e.g. Rubber lips covering the photo material on one side or wipe on both sides.
- Rubber lips have the disadvantage that they are used for a long time certain material width at the edges are more worn than in the middle and therefore when changing the format no longer evenly over the entire Material width. Therefore they have to be renewed frequently.
- So-called squeeze rollers are also often used in photographic technology applied, through which the photographic material is passed under pressure. Thereby the liquid adhering to the surface is removed to some extent. Liquid and Chemicals that are in the gelatin layers of the photographic material will so not removed. The effect of such a pair of rollers is therefore insufficient.
- JP-A-62 240 970 is a photographic watering device Materials known to be two above the liquid level of the washing tank vertical rows of pairs of rollers are arranged, one of which is made of material descending and the other ascending and the one above both Rows a liquid supply is provided.
- Washings between individual process stages or before drying to remove adhering chemicals take a long time and require a large amount of water, even if the aids specified above be applied.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a device with which the watering is accelerated without excessive consumption of water.
- the material can be immersed in the water in the washing tank can also be guided over pulleys that are above the bath level are located.
- each pair of rollers are preferably set parallel to the horizontal.
- At least one roller of at least one pair of rollers is preferably driven; in particular, all pairs of rollers are driven.
- the surface of at least one roller of each pair of rollers is preferably made of one elastic material, preferably rubber.
- the other role can also be from an elastic material, but also e.g. made of stainless steel or hard plastic.
- the water supply is at the highest point of the second highest pair of rollers in the series of pairs of rollers, which the photographic material passes through in ascending order.
- the photographic material that after leaving the tank between the rollers of each pair of rollers is passed through in ascending order with a small amount of water be applied so that a cascade irrigation with the smallest amounts confined space is realized.
- the device of pairs of rollers arranged one above the other can be provided several times be, also with respect to a tank several times, the applied water in the Countercurrent to the photographic material and if necessary through baffles or guided tours there.
- the pairs of rollers that the material goes through in descending order are preferred Embodiment all individually charged with water.
- the water can either be applied directly to the photo material or indirectly through Moistening the rolls, e.g. with a damp sponge, applied to the photo material will.
- the device preferably further contains means by which the water from the Pairs of rollers that the material goes through in ascending order when it is separated from the photo material is removed again, is led into the previous treatment stage.
- FIG. 1 A device according to the prior art is shown in Fig. 2.
- (1) represents a washing tank within a photographic processing apparatus represents, whose water level is designated with (2).
- With (5) is the photographic material with its direction of rotation indicated by an arrow, with (6) denotes a device part, with the washing water on the pairs of rollers is applied.
- the wash water can be on one side or on both sides of the photographic material is applied, runs in the row 3a around the outside Roll around before it comes to the next pair of rolls until it finally gets into the Tank (1) drips.
- (7) identifies a device that is used for setting the Pressure between the two rollers of the pair of rollers ensures.
- With (8) are common Designated pulleys. In the row (3), each pair of rollers is supplied with fresh water applied: The water is then drained off and e.g. not one shown tank supplied.
- the washing tank (1) shown in Fig. 2 with the water level (2) through which the photographic material (5) is guided only has the usual deflection rollers (8) on.
- pairs of rollers are preferably used in each row provided, the width of which is matched to the photographic material to be processed is.
- the roll diameter is not critical; for space reasons you will Choose a diameter between 1 and 10 cm.
- the pressure of the roller pairs is, for example, by tension springs around both Axes of the rollers are set.
- Another object of the invention is a rinsing process for a photographic Material that was previously treated with a chemical solution, such as a development, Bleaching, fixing or bleach-fixing bath was treated, according to claim 2nd
- the water is preferably directed into the bath that the material is just leaving Has.
- a commercial color paper goes through a bleaching bath with the following chemical composition after development and washing: Ammonium iron EDTA 35 g / l Ammonium bromide 70 g / l.
- the cleaning effect of the washing tank 1 was determined by analyzing the NH 4 Br concentration in the washing tank 2. At this time it contains 4.1 g NH 4 Br / l.
- Example 2 The procedure was as in Example 1, but there was a row at washing tank 1 with 4 superposed, driven roller pairs mounted and the water even drained from the tank. The color paper runs through the roller pairs Leaving the tank.
- the pressure with which the 4 pairs of rollers touched was approximately 700 p / cm 2 .
- Example 2 The procedure was as in Example 2, but 4 additional pairs of rollers were installed one above the other at the inlet into tank 1, which passes through the material in descending order and which also touched at a pressure of approx. 700 p / cm 2 .
- the device contained: 4 humidification points a 25 ml / m 2 on all pairs of rollers of the descending part 1 humidification point a 50 ml / m 2 on the second uppermost pair of rollers of the rising part.
- the preferred embodiment again increases the cleaning effect found by a factor of 4.
- a commercial color paper goes through a fixing bath of the following composition: Sodium thiosulfate 120 g / l Sodium sulfite 10 g / l.
- Example 3 The procedure was as in Example 4, but in the washing tank I were accordingly Example 3 two rows, each with 4 driven motors arranged one above the other Pairs of rollers mounted and the water drained from the tank itself.
- tank I was closed and instead 20 ml / m 2 of water were applied to all pairs of rollers of the descending part and 40 ml / m 2 of water to the second uppermost pair of rollers of the ascending part.
- the pressure with which the 4 pairs of rollers in the row that the material passes through after the bath touched was approximately 700 p / cm 2 .
- the examples show that with small amounts of water when using the invention Device is very effective watering. Becomes a watering result regarded as sufficient according to Example 1, the rinsing time can be significantly shortened, e.g. from 90 s in Example 1 to 25 s.
