- Such formwork for prestressed concrete sleepers is described, for example, in the magazine “Bundesbahn” No. 10/1981 p. 844, 3rd column, 2nd paragraph in the article "30 years of concrete sleepers at the Deutsche Bundesbahn". Because of their stiffness required for applying the prestressing, they are very complex and can only be used for a certain finished part - a certain threshold. The high cost of formwork renders the process uneconomical for special sleepers with small quantities, such as those that occur with industrial siding connections or with small municipal or private railway companies.
