Definitions

  • Labeling machine for attaching labels to shaped bottles, in particular to buckets, with a bottle transport device on which a first labeling station for the shaped bottles is arranged.
  • Such labeling machines are known, see e.g. US-A-4 687 535.
  • the bottle transport device transports the shaped bottles, in particular the goat bags, to the labeling station, where they are then provided with labels.
  • Such a labeling machine is only suitable for shaped bottles, so it cannot be used for bottles with a cylindrical shape. If cylindrical bottles are to be labeled, a separate, appropriately designed labeling machine is required. Labeling machines of this type are also known.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the versatility of a labeling machine.
  • a further, second labeling station is arranged on the same bottle transport device of a labeling machine, which is used for labeling serves cylindrical bottles.
  • the bottle transport device is thus used twice, in that it is used both for the transport of shaped bottles and for the transport of cylindrical bottles.
  • Other components of the labeling machine according to the invention can also be used for the two bottle systems (shaped bottle - cylindrical bottle), as a result of which the expenditure on equipment is reduced. If a first labeling station is mentioned above, this can of course consist of several components for applying different labels. The same applies to the second labeling station mentioned.
  • the bottle transport device is designed as a conveyor belt, in particular a link chain belt.
  • the bottles stand upright on this conveyor belt and are moved in translation.
  • the alignment cushions of the pre-alignment device have alignment surfaces that lie in planes that run parallel to the transport direction of the bottle transport device. If, for example, a Bock bag is aligned between the alignment cushions, the desired end position of the bottle has not yet been achieved with sufficient accuracy due to the slight curvature of the flat sides of the Bock bag. However, this pre-alignment is sufficient to be able to subsequently make a fine alignment.
  • the one alignment cushion is arranged so as to be adjustable transversely to the transport direction, only the other alignment cushion needs to be displaced transversely to the transport direction by means of a drive, especially a piston / cylinder unit.
  • the adjustable position of the fixable alignment cushion depends on the shape and the size and thickness of the bottle.
  • the bottle is positioned in the desired, exact position by means of a fine alignment device. This connects to the pre-aligning device, as seen in the transport direction of the bottle transport device. For fine alignment the shaped bottles remain on the bottle transport device, in particular on the link chain belt.
  • the invention further relates to a labeling machine with a fine alignment device which has two cheeks which have recesses adapted to the bottle shape of the molded bottle, between which the molded bottle is clamped in order to achieve a fine alignment position. Due to the fact that the depressions are adapted to the shape of the shaped bottle, the shaped bottle will shift into a clear position when the cheeks are closed, so that the fine alignment position is achieved. This is possible because the molded bottle has rounded or appropriately shaped areas that can only occupy a clear position within the corresponding recesses in the cheeks. A sufficiently defined point contact on the bottle is sufficient for the shape adjustment.
  • At least one, preferably two, labels are applied to the shaped bottle, in particular a stomach and a back label, by means of one or two labeling devices.
  • a labeling device is arranged on each side of the bottle transport device, so that the bottle, in particular a goat bag, can be glued to the belly and the back label at the same time by means of the two labeling devices in the fine alignment position.
  • the labels are self-adhesive labels.
  • the cheeks are designed as swivel cheeks which are mounted so that they can swivel into the movement path of the bottle transport device.
  • a rear cheek swings into the movement path, so that the shaped bottle transported by the transport device enters the corresponding recess of the cheek with its round side.
  • the front cheek closes by means of a swiveling movement, whereby a clear, reproducible fine alignment position is achieved. The labeling can then take place in this position.
  • FIG. 1 shows a labeling machine 1, which is used to apply labels to shaped bottles, in particular to goat bags. It has a bottle transport device 2 indicated in a stylized manner, which is designed as a link chain belt 3. Arranged on both sides of the link chain belt 3 is a first labeling station 4, which consists of 2 labeling devices 5 and 6, which — for the sake of simplicity — are only shown as a box. With these labeling devices 5 and 6, goat bags can be labeled, whereby a stomach and a back label are applied at the same time. One labeling device is responsible for the application of the abdominal label and the other for the application of the back label.
  • the bottle transport device 2 does not end in the immediate vicinity behind the labeling devices 5 and 6, but preferably extends over the entire width of the The labeling machine 1 shown there is because a further, second labeling station 7 is connected in the further course of the bottle transport device 2, that is to say the bottle transport device also leads past this further labeling station 7.
  • the labeling station 7 also consists of two labeling devices 8 and 9 which serve to apply two labels, but they are designed in such a way that they can be used to label cylindrical bottles rather than shaped bottles.
  • the labeling machine 1 can therefore be used for labeling, the same bottle transport device 2 always being used and the labeling devices 5 and 6 or 8 and 9 required in each case being put into operation.
  • the labeling machine according to the invention can be thought of as being divided (line 10 in FIG. 1), the left half being used for labeling shaped bottles and arrow right the right half for labeling cylindrical bottles, according to arrow 11.
  • FIG. 2 shows a pre-aligning device 13, which is preferably arranged between the bottle inlet and the labeling devices 5 and 6 in the course of the bottle transport device 2. It has a slide 14 on one side of the bottle transport device 2, which carries an alignment cushion 15.
  • the slide 14 can be a piston / cylinder unit 17 by means of a piston rod 16 can be moved back and forth along the double arrow 18, that is to say transversely to the transport direction of the bottle transport device 2.
  • a further alignment pad 20 is arranged on a holding plate 19.
  • the alignment plate 19 is stirred by means of guide webs 21 in corresponding bores in a holding block 22.
  • the holding block 22 has a threaded bore into which a threaded spindle 23 is screwed, which carries an adjusting knob 24 at one end and is rotatably connected to the holding plate at its other end, but is firmly connected in the axial direction.
  • the position of the alignment pad 20 can be adjusted due to the rotation of the threaded spindle 23.
  • the alignment surfaces 25 and 26 of the two alignment cushions 15 and 20 lie in planes which run parallel to the transport direction (arrow 27) of the bottle transport device 2.
  • a buck bag 28 is indicated with a broken line, which stands on the bottle transport device 2.
  • the piston / cylinder unit 17 moves the slide 14 in the direction of the trestle bag, so that the alignment pillow 15 steps against one flat side 29 of the trestle bag 28 and follows the trestle bag with its other flat side 30 on the left against the other alignment cushion 20.
  • This is a pre-alignment of Shaped bottle achieved on the bottle transport device 2.
  • the position of the alignment cushion 20 relative to the bottle transport device 2 is pre-fixed in a desired manner before starting up by means of the adjusting button 24.
  • FIG. 3 shows - in the further course of the bottle transport device - two parts of the two labeling devices 5 and 6.
  • These two labeling devices 5 and 6 each have a dispensing edge 30 or 31, around which a labeling tape carrier 32 or 33 is placed, on which self-adhesive labels are applied. If a bottle is in the correct alignment with the labeling devices 5 and 6, the labeling can take place.
  • the correct alignment is referred to below as the "fine alignment position”. How this fine-tuning position is adopted is discussed in more detail below.
  • the two labeling tape carriers 32 and 33 are drawn a certain distance around the dispensing edges 30 and 31 by means of suitable devices, so that the labels applied there are transferred to sliders 34 and 35, respectively, which hold the labels preferably by means of negative pressure.
  • the sliders 34 and 35 then move in the direction of the flat sides of the trestle bag 28 and transfer the labels to the desired ones Put. This will glue them to the flat sides.
  • a fine alignment device 36 is now described below, which is located in the area between the two labeling devices 5 and 6. It serves to place the trestle bag 28 in a fine alignment position, in which the labeling can then be carried out reproducibly by means of the labeling devices 5 and 6, that is to say always in the same label position.
  • the fine aligning device 36 has two cheeks 37 and 38, which are displaceable by means of drives (not shown) or a drive (not shown) and which can be pivoted about eccentric axes 39 and 40 such that they protrude into the area of the bottle transport device 2.
  • the cheek 37 has a depression 41 and the cheek 38 has a depression 42.
  • the shapes of the depressions 41 and 42 are adapted to the round sides 43 and 44 of the molded bottle, in particular the buckle bag 28, which lie between the flat sides 29 and 30 (FIG. 2).
  • the cheek 38 is first pivoted about the axis 40 into the position according to FIG.
