Definitions

  • the invention relates to a watch, in particular a wristwatch, with a watch case having a mechanical clockwork and a dial and a base body to which the watch case is fastened rotatable through 180 ° about a first axis of rotation which runs essentially parallel to the dial.
  • the base body is in the form of a rectangular box with four side walls and a bottom. Grooves are formed in two opposite side walls of this box, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the side walls and parallel to the floor.
  • the watch case is also rectangular and has dimensions such that it can be received by the box.
  • a pin projecting from the side wall of the watch case is provided in each end region. This pin fits into the groove of the side wall of the box opposite it.
  • Means are provided on the box for attaching a bracelet to it.
  • the watch case can be pivoted between two positions or positions, with the dial facing outwards in one position, while in the other position the bottom of the watch case faces outwards, which can carry the monogram of the watch owner, for example.
  • a wristwatch is also known from the prior art, the watch case of which can be pivoted relative to a base body.
  • this known wristwatch has a base body which is designed as a rectangular box and has four side walls and a base.
  • a rectangular frame is arranged within this box, the outer dimensions of which are somewhat smaller than the inner dimensions of the box.
  • At one end region of the frame it is fastened to the box so that it can pivot about an axis of rotation.
  • the frame can be swung up out of the box or moved back into the box.
  • the watch case is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation that extends parallel to the axis of rotation of the frame.
  • the fastening axis of the watch case runs through the centers of the corresponding opposite frame sides.
  • the watch case When the frame is pivoted out of the box, the watch case can be rotated about its fastening axis, so that either one of the two main sides of the watch case can be arranged so that it faces outwards. Similar to the first-mentioned wristwatch, you can also choose whether the main side with the dial faces outwards or the case back, which can also carry the monogram of the watch owner, for example.
  • Both of the aforementioned wristwatches known from the prior art with a pivotable watch case have spring-elastic latching devices by means of which the position of the watch case relative to the box can be releasably determined.
  • CH-A-171 430 discloses a wrist watch with a watch case having a mechanical clockwork and a dial and a base body to which the watch case is fastened rotatable through 180 ° about a first axis of rotation which runs essentially parallel to the dial, the base body as an essentially U-shaped frame is formed, a holding element is fastened to the legs of the frame so as to be pivotable about a second axis of rotation which is substantially perpendicular to the first axis of rotation, the watch case is fastened to the holding element so as to be rotatable about the first axis of rotation, and a first snap-in device is provided, by means of which the watch case can be snap-fitted to the holding element in a first position and a second position rotated by 180 ° about the first axis of rotation relative to the holding element, and the one spring device arranged in the watch case through which the watch case with a spring directed to the holding element can be acted upon by force, and also comprises a projection element arranged on the
  • the invention has for its object a clock in The preamble of claim 1 to further develop the type so that the turning process is easy to handle.
  • the watch case preferably has a transparent base. Since the main body of the watch is designed as a U-shaped frame, the movement in the watch can be viewed through the transparent case bottom even when the watch case is pivoted into the U-shaped frame with its dial pointing upwards. The U-shaped frame does not block the view of the see-through case back.
  • a first latching device is provided, by means of which the watch housing can be latched in a spring-elastic manner in a first position on the holding element and in a second position rotated relative to the latter by 180 ° about the second axis of rotation. This can ensure that when the watch case has been rotated relative to the holding element, the watch case assumes a defined position, so that no tilting can occur when the watch case is pivoted into the U-shaped frame.
  • a second snap-in device is also provided, by means of which the watch case can be snapped onto the base body in a resilient manner. This ensures that the watch case cannot inadvertently pivot relative to the U-shaped frame.
  • the first latching device comprises a spring device arranged in the watch case, through which the watch case can be subjected to a spring force directed towards the holding element, as well as a projection element arranged on the holding element and a recess formed on the watch case for receiving the projection element in the respective locked position.
  • the watch case can be rotated about its first axis of rotation from one latching position in order to be brought into the other latching position.
  • the rotation takes place counter to the spring force exerted by the spring device, which, even when the watch case is rotated, serves to bring about the desired engagement between the projection element on the holding element and the recess in the watch case.
  • the watch generally designated 1, comprises a base body in the form of a frame 2 and a watch case 3 which is pivotably attached to the frame 2.
  • a dial 3a which is not shown here in detail.
  • the frame 2 is U-shaped and has two legs 4 and 5, which are connected to one another via a connecting web 6.
  • a holding element 9 is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation 10 extending essentially perpendicular to the legs 4 and 5.
  • the holding element 9 is U-shaped and has two legs, of which only the leg 11 is visible.
  • the two legs of the holding element 9 are connected to one another via a connecting part 12.
  • the axis of rotation 10 runs through the two legs of the holding element 9.
  • pivot pins are provided, of which only the pivot pin 13 is visible.
  • the pivot pins extend inside the frame and into corresponding bores in the legs of the holding element 9.
  • the holding element 9 can be rotated about these pivot pins.
  • the watch case 3 is formed as a flat, rectangular body.
  • the watch case 3 is fastened to the connecting part 12, which has a rectangular cross section, so that the watch case 3 can rotate about an axis of rotation 13 which runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation 10 of the holding element 9 and also perpendicularly through a side wall of the watch case 3.
  • This type of attachment is designed so that at least one rotation of the watch case 3 relative to the holding element 9 by 180 ° is possible, wherein when the watch case 3 is in the respective final rotational position, the fastening wall of the watch case 3 is essentially in the direction of Axis of rotation 10 of the holding element 9 extends.
  • the rotary connection between the watch case 3 and the holding element 9 is preferably such that a rotation of the watch case 3 about the axis of rotation 13 by 360 ° is possible.
  • the rotary fastening (not shown in detail) between the watch case 3 and the holding element 9 comprises a pin which is fastened to the holding element 9, for example by welding, and extends from the holding element 9 along the axis of rotation 13 towards the watch case.
  • a pin which is fastened to the holding element 9, for example by welding, and extends from the holding element 9 along the axis of rotation 13 towards the watch case.
  • the bore through which the pivot pin extends is formed with a larger diameter over a predetermined length in the direction of the axis of rotation 13.
  • a coil spring is arranged in the space between the pivot pin and the inner wall of the larger diameter area.
  • a closing part is arranged which extends transversely to the rotary pin and covers the coil spring.
  • the length dimension of the coil spring in the direction of its spring travel and that of the area of the bore with a larger diameter are dimensioned such that when the watch case 3 is fastened to the holding element 9, the coil spring is compressed and thereby generates a spring force which causes the bottom of the area to be larger Diameter and the end of the pivot pin are pushed away from each other. This causes the watch case 3 to bear against the holding element 9 with a corresponding spring pressure.
  • a groove running parallel to the axis of rotation 10 of the holding element 9 is formed on the side facing the watch case 3. This groove cannot be seen in FIG.
  • a snap-in pin 14 having a circular cross section is fastened in the groove in such a way that a certain area of the snap-in pin 14 protrudes from the surface of the connecting part 12. Since the snap pin 14 has a circular cross section, the protruding area of the snap pin 14 is curved.
  • a groove is formed which runs parallel to the longitudinal edge of the side wall and whose dimensions are such that the part of the locking pin 14 projecting from the connecting part 12 can be received.
  • the groove in the mentioned side wall of the watch case 3 extends on both sides of the pivot pin, not shown.

  • the watch carrier intends to turn the watch case in a position shown in FIG. 1, he grips the ball 17, which is fastened to the watch case 3 by means of the pin 16, and moves it upwards, thereby removing the watch case from the frame 2 is pivoted upwards around the axis of rotation 10 of the holding part 9.
  • the watch case 3 can be rotated about the vertical axis of rotation 13 by 180 °, so that now the side of the watch case 3, which at Arm put on the watch pointed to the arm, now points outwards and can be viewed.
  • the side of the watch case that is now facing outwards is in the opposite position of the arm after the watch case 3 has been pivoted back into the frame 2 about the axis of rotation 10 of the holding element 9.
  • the pin 16 By exercising a little towards that Connecting web 6 directed force on the ball 17, the pin 16 is moved into the central recess 15 of the connecting web 6, the ball 17 pushing against the connecting web 6 and thereby resiliently deforming it towards the holding part 9.
  • the two possible snap-in positions of the watch case 3 are fixed relative to the holding element 9 by the snap-in device which comprises the snap-in pin 14 and the grooves which are formed on the side wall of the watch case 3 opposite the connecting part 12.
  • the watch case can be pivoted in a very convenient manner, it being sufficient to use only two fingers.
  • the clocks according to the prior art described at the outset can, if at all, only be moved from one position into the reversed position with great difficulty by means of two fingers.
  • the watch with a pivotable watch case according to the invention can also be designed fundamentally differently.
  • a wide band which can be attached to a trouser belt, could be attached to only one end of the U-shaped frame.
  • a shape could also be chosen for the clock according to the invention as a grandfather clock if the frame is connected to a pedestal. In this case, if the frame extends substantially vertically, the clockwork and the movement of the individual wheels are clearly visible if a transparent housing base is used.
