Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fume hood according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Exhaust fume cupboards are generally used to carry out internal work involving hot gases, vapors or fumes, for example work with heated caustic liquids. Such work is, for example, material tests such as testing the acid resistance of paints on metal sheets for the automotive industry.
  • a fume hood must not only meet the requirements when working with smoking materials, it must also meet the requirements of standard fume hoods in all areas where other chemicals and cold caustic substances are used. In particular, he must be able to handle severe Vacuum chemicals such as bromine or NO2 and must meet the ventilation requirements according to DIN 12924.
  • a fume cupboard extractor which is easy to line and has been widely used in the past.
  • This lining can consist of tiles, for example.
  • Such a fume cupboard with a shaft suction has a suction shaft with two in the interior on the rear wall locally restricted top and bottom suction openings.
  • a fume hood with built-in gas scrubber has already been proposed, as shown in Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawing.
  • the ceiling is lowered, therefore the actual fume cupboard has a reduced height and a gas washer is installed above the fume cupboard.
  • the sliding window can then be opened up to the ceiling of the fume cupboard.
  • baffles are used, some of which run diagonally from bottom to top and from back to front, and delimit slots between their top and bottom edges and the back wall or ceiling, which lead to a space behind the baffle plate with which the Suction opening of the suction device is connected.
  • Such a fume cupboard has the advantage over conventional fume cupboards that a gas scrubber can be installed above the actual fume cupboard part.
  • a trigger which is designed in such a way that disturbances of the engagement opening on the interior are avoided, for which the air speed in the inflow opening is adjusted in a certain way. This is achieved in detail through the formation of mutually corresponding chambers and the arrangement of several baffle plates, by means of which a fully mechanical air volume control is possible. The user can also intervene in this regulation via the window and the inclination of a plate.
  • a trigger is also known from US Pat. No. 3,340,788, in which a baffle wall is inserted in the rear space, which partially runs obliquely from bottom to top and from back to front. Slits are delimited between the upper and lower edge and the rear wall of the fume cupboard, which lead to a space behind the baffle plate to which the suction opening of the suction device is connected.
  • the object underlying the invention is therefore to design a smoke extractor according to the preamble of claim 1 so that it meets all requirements for working with and without thermals at a low height, which offers the possibility of installing a gas scrubber on the upper part.
  • the design of the ceiling-side part of the work space in the form of a tapered shaft ensures that the air rising through the thermal and collecting on the ceiling is collected in the shaft and inwards at the lower edge of the shaft to the suction slot between the Baffle plate and the ceiling of the fume cupboard is deflected back. This prevents the emergence of pollutants when the sliding window is open or when the sliding window is opened during work.
  • the fume hood according to the invention meets the requirements of DIN 1292471 due to this design with and without thermal.
  • the embodiment of the fume hood according to the invention shown in Fig. 2 consists essentially of a box-shaped housing in which a work space 17 is provided, which is delimited by a floor or table top 1, sides, a rear wall 2 and a ceiling 5 to 8.
  • the front of the housing is open and accessible via a vertically displaceable sliding window 4, which can be displaced into a position that closes the opening and a position that opens the opening.
  • a baffle plate 10 is removably arranged in two brackets 11, 12, which runs obliquely from bottom to top and from back to front in the illustrated embodiment.
  • This baffle plate 10 serves to lower the gases or vapors that arise when working on the table top 1 and rise due to the thermal effects and to guide the upper suction slot 21, 22, which are limited between the lower edge and the upper edge of the baffle plate 10 and the rear wall 2 or the ceiling 7 of the interior.
  • the space 20 between the baffle plate 10 and the ceiling parts 5 and 6 thus forms a vacuum chamber 20 which is connected to the working space 17 via the slots 21, 22.
  • the respective amounts of exhaust air can be regulated via the width of these slots.
  • the exhaust air sucked into the scrubber 14 via the nozzle 13 from the vacuum chamber 20 is discharged from the scrubber 14 via a nozzle 16 to a house ventilation.
  • the baffle plate 10 forms together with the ceiling, in particular the ceiling part 7 and the ceiling part 8 in the form of a cladding sheet, which runs between the front edge of the ceiling part 7 and the upper edge of the opening of the open front of the housing, an upwardly tapering shaft in the upper part of the Working space 17.
  • This shaft can be trapezoidal in cross-section, as is the case with the embodiment shown in the drawing, but it can also have an arched or hood-like shape.
  • the suction slot 22 between the baffle plate 10 and the ceiling part 7 is arranged at the narrowest point of the shaft, so that there the suction is very intense.
  • the size of the suction slots 21, 22 is preferably selected so that 40% of the exhaust air is extracted at the suction slot 21 and 60% at the suction slot 22. This differs from the standard setting for the so-called roller deductions, in which 66% is extracted at the lower slot, while 33% is extracted at the upper slot. This deviation is due to the fact that a rapid suction must be achieved due to the thermals on the upper part.
  • the ceiling part 8, ie the cladding sheet can be made transparent and can be provided with lighting 9 located on the front.
  • the Lower edge of the cladding sheet 8 which extends obliquely forward from the ceiling to the upper edge of the opening in the front of the housing, ie in the area of the upper edge of the opening on the front of the housing, a so-called deflector plate 24 is provided, which extends from the lower edge of the Covering sheet 8 extends inwards.
  • This deflector plate 24 can also be transparent.
  • the deflector plate 24 serves as a guide plate which deflects the air collected in the upper shaft-shaped part inwards, an effect which can be reinforced by a correspondingly profiled design of the lower edge of the sliding window, which then performs a similar function when the sliding window is open.
  • a seal 15b is provided between the front 15a of the fume cupboard and the sliding window 4, which can be made of a soft material, for example a soft brush that extends across the entire width of the front 15a .
  • This seal 15b closes the structurally necessary gap between the front 15a and the sliding window 4, in which otherwise due to the high temperature difference between the inside, i.e. gases could flow into the work area and the outside area.
  • the inside of the sliding window 4 is covered with the glass pane of the sliding window. This protects the metal frame from corrosion by the smoked gases and ensures a good seal due to smooth surfaces.
  • Such a fume hood therefore allows you to work with a half-open sliding window, quickly discharge the vapors to the rear, collect the thermals in the shaft, install the washer above the work area, drain the condensate on the inclined baffle plate, and quickly extract the thermals from the highest point in the shaft as well as easy access for cleaning purposes on all edges or avoids dead corners.
  • the hot gases can be in the shaft 17a in the upper region of the work space collected, which pull up due to the thermal.
  • the shaft 17a thus reliably prevents gases from escaping even when the sliding window 4 is open.
  • the baffle plate 10 When the sliding window 4 is fully open, the baffle plate 10 can be removed from the brackets 11 and 12. Then the vacuum chamber 20 and the baffle plate 10 can be cleaned.
