- a vehicle window according to the invention also has the advantage that if there is no slider on the sides of the opening, the window thus caused to extend downwards beyond the engine remains well guided and maintained.
- the latter can be a rack or a threaded shaft cooperating with a driven nut mounted on the engine frame.
- a rotary motor it is also possible to use a linear motor cooperating with a conductive rail, of copper in particular, permanently mounted in the wall or the door casing.
- the vehicle window 1 shown in FIG. 1 comprises an upper part 2 framing the opening and a lower part 3 constituting the box of a door. In this box are mounted laterally slides 4 and 5 on which the glazing 6 slides vertically.

- the shape and dimensions of this hole are adapted to those of the electric motor 9 which is inserted therein.
- the electric motor 9 is of particularly flat construction, it is in particular a rotating disc motor as shown in Figure 2 schematically.
- the rotor takes the form of a flat disc 10 which cooperates with the stator winding 11 or even with permanent magnets; such motors, suitable for insertion thus, are commercially available.
- the two parts 12 and 13 of their housing are designed so that they allow the motor to be placed in the hole 8 of the glazing 6 by tightening them one on the other after having placed them on the latter.
- a bevel gear 17 On the shaft 16 of the rotor is mounted a bevel gear 17 which, if necessary after interposition of a reduction gear not shown, meshes on a bevel gear 18 belonging, for its part, to a nut 19 mounted idly on a console 20 integral with the part 12 of the housing.
- the internal thread of the nut 19 cooperates with that of a threaded shaft 22 disposed in a substantially vertical direction inside the box 3 on which a fixing 23 retains it at its lower part.
- a flexible cable 24 supplies the motor 9, the starting of which causes the glazing to slide in the desired direction by displacement of the nut 19 along the shaft 22.
- the embodiment of the glazing drive 6 shown in Figure 3 also includes an electric motor 9 having a housing in two parts 12 and 13 clamped one on the other, a disc rotor 10, a stator 11 and a pin 16, this time carrying a pinion 26 which cooperates with a rack 27, itself fixed on the box.
- the motor is still supplied by a flexible cable 24.
- FIG. 4 has the advantage of requiring no gearing between the threaded shaft 30 and the motor 31 because the rotor 32 of this motor directly cooperates itself with the shaft.
- the motor 31 is then designed so that its rotor turns in a horizontal plane, its axis coinciding with that of the shaft 30.
- Its housing 33 laterally carries a flange 34 which bears on the glass 35 while its protruding end penetrates in the hole 36 of the latter, on which a plate 37 tightened by screws 38 fixes it after conventional interposition of an elastic seal 39.
- the hub 40 of the rotor 32 rests on the housing by bearings 41 while its internal threaded reach 42 makes nut on the shaft 30.
- FIG. 5 uses a linear motor 43, the housing of which is fixed like the housing 33 of the motor 31 by a flange 44 and a counterplate 45 in the hole in the glazing 46.
- This housing is slidably mounted on a rail 47 carrying a plate conductive copper 48.
- the inductor 49 of the motor, housed in the hole, cooperates with this plate 48, which acts as an armature to move the motor, driving the glazing up or down along the rail 47 when the motor is supplied in one direction or the other by cable 24.
