Definitions
- the invention relates to a traffic light system, in which the Traffic flow is regulated by different lights, each of the lights is formed by a plurality of individual lights arranged in a grid, which together give a predetermined geometric shape.
- US-A 4 167 001 shows an embodiment in which a light bar slowly from top to bottom hikes, etc. either only red lamps or only green lamps are lit, being next to the light bar that slowly moves downwards, to the side a light strip extending in the longitudinal direction of the overall system is provided which is the same color as the wandering light bar, either a red or a green light strip is switched on.
- This training shows the Status of the switching phase in the manner of a still image.
- German patent application DE-A1 34 40 856 relates to an electrical Lamp unit for traffic signal lights or other light signal systems, in which the lights are arranged in rows and targeted to achieve an image with a special appearance, e.g. an arrow, can be controlled.
- US-A 4 839 647 describes a traffic light in which the individual Luminaires have different geometric shapes.
- the Red light lamp is a round disc
- the yellow light lamp is placed on the tip Square
- the green light a triangle placed on the base.
- Another one Embodiment according to the cited document are differently directed Quadrilaterals are provided, which can optionally be provided with arrows.
- the individual lights each have a central light source from the inside illuminated, with corresponding colored discs on the visible side, which deviate from the circle for easier recognition by color blind people have geometric shapes.
- This traffic light signal system has the Disadvantage that special monitoring systems are provided in addition to the main system must be monitored with which is actually in the respective Switching phases the correct lamps are switched on. Such Monitoring devices are complex and moreover require precise additional maintenance.
- BE-A 875.404 relates to a traffic light system in which on and different colors are projected alternately on the same pane, etc. With the goal of illuminating a larger one due to the lens effect of the large disc To achieve space so that the driver can drive from a distance Display traffic light phase.
- this is achieved in that the arranged in a grid Individual lights of each luminaire system-related in the form of a flat light-running effect are made visible, the flow rate and / or the flow direction of the Flat light-running effect corresponding to the elapsed time of switching on the associated lamp is changeable. This ensures that by the type of The approaching motorist can recognize the course of the light curtain There is a timely phase sequence state of the traffic light signal system, so that through this improvement additional information regarding the expected Timing for the road user is given.
- It is possible to change the flow rate and / or flow direction Road users to indicate whether a change is imminent or a Time span to show how long he is still signaled in the intersection can drive in. This is particularly interesting for the yellow light phase, since one so that it can indicate whether the yellow light phase is next a green phase or a red phase follows. It then becomes the fluid movement of the Light curtain selected in the direction of the next switched lamp will.
- Luminous effect of the lights or individual lights by means of one or more panels be controlled covered.
- Color discs can be applied in the sense of achieving a flat smooth running effect are.
- the panel can be designed as a lamella-like blind, the Slats are pivotable about their longitudinal axis and can be driven separately.
- Any kind of drive is possible to operate these slats, e.g. a Magnet drive, with which the lamellae depending on the excitation of the magnet be pivoted or a motor drive, which the respective Swiveling of the slats results.
- the aperture can also be a rotating one Be a perforated diaphragm, the diaphragm being a disc with perforations, Tapered jacket or cylinder jacket is formed, with which the light inputs from the light guides forming individual lights can be dimmed.
- This is a special one simple training, since only a single drive must be available, which the optical appearance of the light curtain with regard to flow direction or Flow speed by simply reversing the direction of rotation or Accelerating or braking the rotating pinhole can result.
- the geometric shapes of all lights be different, the red light lamp preferably the outline shape of a regular octagon and the yellow light preferably the shape of a has the base of the triangle.
- the respective switching phase of the Traffic light signal system can be seen from a distance because the red light of the shape a stop board and the yellow light is adapted to the shape of a warning board, the green light lamp, in the form of an arrow, is also different can have, which will ideally be assigned to each lane.
- such lights are favorable from the traffic psychological point of view, since the Road users automatically change the shape of the light that is lit.
- the Green light lamp can be designed as an arrow-like bar, the light-running effect visually simulates a movement towards or away from the tip. This is particularly favorable if you want to indicate that the green phase is in is in its initial phase, then the light curtain will move towards the top or if the green phase is in its final phase, the Light curtain to be moved away from the top. By appropriate Speed selection can then also be displayed whether the switching process is imminent or will pass some time until then.
- the shape of the traffic light signal system and / or the green light lamp and / or one Framing the traffic light signal system of the assigned driving regulations of the associated lane is therefore already on the shape of the traffic light signal system or the green light or the border from a distance as it behaves in relation to the intersection Has.
- the light sources of all lights can luminaires overlapping one another in a common field forming one of the Achieving form corresponding arrangement may be provided. This will make them bigger Single characters as traffic light signal systems enabled.
- the green light can be on turning lanes be arranged next to the yellow light, etc. on the side that the Turn direction reflects, with the green light lamp the shape of a in the turn direction pointing arrow.
- All lights can be assigned according to the different symbols be arranged side by side, the frame of the traffic light signal system the shape of an arrow pointing in the same direction as the green light lamp having.
- the red light lamp can also be arranged below the yellow light lamp be, the frame being the shape of an angled, in the turning direction pointing arrow.
- Fig. 1 shows a variant in which three separate lights one above the other arranged are provided.
- FIG. 2 illustrates another embodiment in which the light sources of the individual lights overlapping each other on a small surface Field are arranged.
- Fig. 3 shows another embodiment in which three separate Luminaires are provided that lie side by side on a common carrier field are arranged.
- Fig. 4 shows a modified embodiment, etc. in form of angled arrow.
- Fig. 5 shows a detailed representation of a green light lamp, in which the Individual lights are formed by the outputs of light guides.
- FIG. 6 shows a radial section through the area of the light guide inputs, which can be temporarily shielded from the light sources by means of a rotating pinhole are. Another embodiment variant is shown in dashed lines in the lower region of FIG. 6 the pinhole training shown.
- Fig. 7 is a partial section of the rotating pinhole
- Fig. 8 is the view of the sector-like arranged light-lighter arrangement.
- FIG. 9 shows a front view of the reflector with light sources arranged therein.
- 10a to 10d illustrate a coherent block diagram a control of the timer elements and the light curtain.
- Fig. 11 shows the legend regarding the circuit symbols used.
- FIG. 13 illustrates a possible program sequence for running through Traffic light phases.
- the traffic light connections appearing at the head of the diagram are in 10a and b with respect to the traffic light program cycle transmitter transmitter.
- the three traffic symbol lights are arranged separately from each other, in this case the green light at the top, the yellow light in the middle and the red light at the bottom Job. This is because the psychological sequence of the circuit changes that of the Actions better indicated by the driver ("free travel" is always in Direction shown up).
- 1 is the traffic light
- 2 is the Green light
- 3 the yellow light
- 4 the red light.
- the traffic light is with one Provide border 5, which is provided with a reflective surface. In the same way could of course also fluorescent color or an optionally intermittent light band can be provided.
- the word "STOP" is also inserted in white letters.
- the yellow lamp 3 can be shown in a manner not shown with a border be provided, which runs in the form of a light band when the traffic light flashes yellow, to signal to the driver that he must watch out for cross traffic.
- the luminaires 2, 3, 4 consist of a large number of light sources which, as indicated in the drawing, are arranged in a line.
- the individual light sources are controlled via an electronic circuit, etc. such that the sequence of lighting up of the light sources in the form of a so-called Light curtain takes place.
- a light curtain there is an optical direction of light mediates so that the light moves either upwards, sideways or downwards.
- With the green light 2 you will let the light curtain run from bottom to top, to indicate to the driver that he should move forward.
- the light curtain can be controlled at different speeds, i.e.
- the entire light curtain comes to a standstill, that is, the entire one Light is briefly illuminated uniformly. After a specified time then goes out the green light and the yellow light, i.e. light 3, may overlap controlled.
- the shape of the green light 2 indicates which direction of travel to be taken on the strip on which the vehicle is located or above which the traffic light is arranged. In the example shown in Fig. 1 is a lane in which you drive straight ahead or turn left must become.
- the shape of the border 5 or the entire traffic light is adapted to the shape of the green arrow, so that already from the shape of the border 5 can be seen from afar that it is the lane above which the traffic light shown in FIG. 1 is located, is such a lane, where you drive straight or left must be turned.
- This is important because the vast majority the motorized and in particular often unrelated road users Especially in city traffic from mostly confusing situation traffic light-controlled intersections approaches, with the total traffic the driver's concentration on the Traffic light is lowered. Therefore, the driver must be timely and easily recognizable and also psychologically correct and therefore easy to grasp, in which He has to classify lanes so as not to impede further flow traffic.
- the curtain is switched from green to yellow has been lowered and the red phase is expected as the next switching phase, i.e. that the driver, who only briefly looks up at the traffic light, is immediately aware that the Yellow phase leads to a red phase. After a certain yellow phase it will turn on the lamp 4, that is, the red phase, switched.
- the yellow lamp has the shape a warning triangle, so that even color-blind people immediately on the basis of the shape of the Luminaire can recognize which traffic light phase is currently in operation.
- the red light connected downstream of the yellow light 3 has in the present case the The shape of a regular octagon is the shape of the conventional stop board adjusted, which means that the driver already due to the shape of the traffic light can record which traffic situation follows next.
- the light sources arranged in lines are controlled so that the curtain is one of exerts a downward movement, indicating to the driver that he is "held back".
- the speed of the Passing through the light curtain can be changed, here also a slower one Running the curtain indicates the end of the red phase.
- the real end the red phase is due to the short standstill of the light curtain and uniform Illumination of lamp 4 are displayed.
- the yellow phase is initiated again, in which case the lamp 3 then is applied that the light strip runs in the form of a lifting of the curtain, whereby the driver sees that the green phase will follow next, that is the Stopping phase has ended.
- such a traffic light is shown at which all three lights are superimposed on each other.
- the individual belong together
- Light sources of each lamp are identified by different symbols, etc. the green lights by small rings, the yellow lights by small rings Quadrilaterals, the red lights by small crosses. Because of the grid is recognizable that an arrow is reached when the green lights are illuminated, indicating the straight-ahead drive and turning left allowed.
- the yellow lights are back in shape a triangle, and the red lights analogous to Fig. 1 in the form of a regular octagon.
- line-wise Arrangement of the lamps can be provided, the corresponding ones then Lines should run side by side.
- 2 is the traffic light is indicated with 10, the green lights for getting an arrow with 11, the yellow lamps for achieving the yellow lamp with 12 and the red ones Lamp for the red phase with 13.
- a frame 14 are provided, which are again provided with a reflective surface can.
- white lamps 15 are also used, which are indicated by small dots. These white lights 15 can constantly light up or light up intermittently with the help of a corresponding circuit.
- the embodiment variant shown in FIG. 2 is also designed such that the shape of the frame 14 and the arrangement of the white provided therein Lamp 15 already shows from a distance which directions of travel with the help of the reproduced Traffic lights are regulated.
- These traffic lights are also the respective lanes directly assigned, so that the motor vehicle driver easily from afar it can be seen in which lane it has to be classified.
- the traffic light in general designated.
- At 2 is the green light lamp in the form of a lying arrow shown, which is intended here for the right-turn lane.
- At 3 it is Yellow light lamp indicated, which has the outline shape of a warning triangle.
- the Red light lamp is designated 4 and has the shape of a regular octagon on, so the shape of the so-called "stop board".
- the entire system is with one Provided frame 5, in which white lamps 15 are additionally arranged can be what the recognizability of the shape of the traffic light even in poor visibility significantly increased. In most cases, however, the framing will be sufficient to be coated with a fluorescent or reflective coating.
- 20 is basically the Designated traffic light, in which 21 light guide outlets 22 on a base plate flow out.
- the base plate 21 is provided with a frame 23, which is also Has light guide outlets 24.
- the light guide outlets 22 are in rows arranged, the individual lines being designated Z1, Z2, Z3, which periodically to return. These light guide outlets arranged in lines are corresponding of the associated surface in the rotating pinhole shown in FIG. 7, etc.
- the light guide outlets labeled Z1 are analogous to those labeled Z1 7 with horizontal lines, the light guide outlets Z2 analogous to the area Z2 in FIG. 7 with vertical lines and the light guide outlets Z3 dotted.
- Z4 denotes the control surface for the light guide outlets 24, which also intermittently illuminates those provided in the border 23 Fiber optic outlets result.
- the pinhole which is provided with the openings Z1 - Z4, is in 6 and 7 at 25.
- the pinhole 25 is rotatably on a shaft 26 arranged, which shaft can be driven by an electric motor 27.
- the rotating one Pinhole 25 covers a reflector 28 in which light sources 29 are distributed are. This plurality of light sources ensures that even in the event of failure One of the light sources still has some light sources that are adequate Lighting and thus a corresponding amount of light at the entrance to the Enable light guides.
- the light guides are on the opposite side of the reflector Side of the rotating diaphragm 25 arranged and designated in Fig. 6 with 30-33. It follows from Fig.
- the light guide inputs are also in plan view in FIG. 8 reproduced, wherein they are provided on a support plate 34 which on the to lie opposite the reflector 28 side of the rotating diaphragm 25 is coming.
- Such control achieves a light curtain effect similar to that is an electronic control, the choice of the direction of rotation of the rotating aperture 25 the ascent or descent of the light curtain or by Changing the speed, the speed of the light curtain is controllable.
- a blind can be provided, in which case individual slats accordingly Cover the light guide inputs periodically for the required light exposure.
- Such a slat-like blind is of course also on the visible side Luminaire attachable, which is sufficient if this lamp is permanently with Current is applied and it depends on the position of the slats, whether the light the light is visible to the approaching road user or not.
- the dashed line in Fig. 6 it differs of the embodiment described above only in that according to the full solid representation of the rotating pinhole of the jacket of a truncated cone is, whereas according to the dashed design the pinhole is the jacket of a Is cylinder, which is connected to the axis 26 via a radial connecting surface.
- the fiber optic inputs (designated LLE in Fig. 6) then go from the one rotating cylindrical aperture surrounding cylinder surface.
- the mode of action is identical to that of the fully drawn representation.
- the surfaces can be used for all types of traffic light signal systems between the individual lights or between the entire lights be black and be set back from the case, so as to unfavorable incidence of light to a perfect detection of the individual switching phases enable.
- the frame 5; 14; 23 indirectly by means of individual Illumination sources can be illuminated, which are arranged centrally behind the individual lights are and their light is directed to the frame via reflectors.
