Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for wedging a leaf spring on a railway sleeper.
- the fastening systems of a railroad rail on a sleeper such as those described in patent application FR 88/10759 or in patents 1228126 and FR 2 287 551 include as fixing elements a leaf spring, an insulating stop interposed between said blade and the rail pad and a means of fixing and clamping the blade on the crosspiece.
- the support plate is produced by shearing a small flat laminated plain steel. It can also be made by plastic molding to avoid injuring the concrete of the crosspiece.
- This plate can either be premo ⁇ tée on the crosspiece during the manufacture of the latter or be added afterwards on the site.
- the dimensions of the plate are conditioned by the distribution of the pressure which must be exerted on a large surface to avoid problems linked to the resistance of the material constituting the crosspiece (wood or concrete).
- the object of the present invention is to solve this new technical problem in a satisfactory manner by proposing a device for wedging a leaf spring on a railroad sleeper, said leaf spring forming part of a system for fixing a rail on a cross member, of the type comprising:
- a clamping means passing through an opening made in the leaf spring by removing a ripple of material and the locking of which in the cross member enables said blade to be pressed against the pad of the rail
- blocking and supporting means comprise vertical projections formed in the mass of the cross member and defining a housing intended to receive said riblon horizontally on which the rear heel of the leaf spring comes into bearing contact.
- the outer edge of the rear heel of the leaf spring comes into abutment lateral abutment on said projections.
- the opening of the spring leaf is generally carried out by cold punching.
- the dimensions of this opening (25 x 30 mm) and therefore those of the riblon, that is to say of the piece of material removed to make said opening, are sufficient to properly distribute the pressure exerted by the rear heel of the blade spring on the concrete sleeper.
- the riblon substantially has the form of the meeting of two semicircles whose centers are spaced.
- FIG. 1 represents a top view of a leaf spring as it is presented in the state of the art.
- FIG. 2 represents a perspective view of a riblon coming from the leaf spring of FIG. 1.
- FIG. 3 represents a top view of a system for fixing a railroad rail on a sleeper with the wedging device of the invention.
- FIG. 4 represents a side view of the fixing system of FIG. 3.
- FIG. I represents a leaf spring 1 of substantially trapezoidal shape in which an opening 4 is produced by removing material (for example by cold punching).
- the part resulting from this operation is a riblon 5 shown in FIG. 2 which has the same dimensions as those of the opening 4.
- This riblon 5 was usually thrown into the scrap metal, but its dimensions are such that it has a sufficient surface to serve as a support plate for the leaf spring 1 when the latter is locked in the rail fixing position. According to the invention, this ratchet 5 is therefore kept for use as a support plate.
- FIG. 3 represents a fixing system such as that described in application 88 10759 but with the wedging device of the invention.
- the fixing system comprises in particular a clamping means 3 passing through the opening 4 made in the leaf spring 1 by removing the riblon 5 of material. Locking for example by screwing the clamping means 3 in the cross member 2 through the blade 1 allows the leaf spring 1 to be pressed against the pad 6 of the rail R. The front end 1A of the blade therefore comes into bearing contact on an insulating stop 9 interposed between the rail and the blade 1.
- This setting is obtained by means of blocking and supporting the rear heel IR of the leaf spring 1 on the crosspiece 2.
- these blocking and support means comprise vertical projections 2D, 2G made in the mass of the cross member 2.
- the projections 2D, 2G define a housing 7 intended to receive the riblon 5 horizontally on which the IR rear heel of blade 1 comes into bearing contact.
- the 2D, 2G projections are made on the cross member 2 parallel to the rail R and form a coarse edge against which the outer edge 8 of the rear heel IR of the blade 1 comes into lateral abutment abutment.
- the largest dimension of the riblon 5 (formed by the union of two semicircles of 25 mm diameter whose centers are 5 mm apart, i.e. an area of approximately 6 cm2) is less than the width of the rear heel IR of the blade 1, which is about 70 mm.
- the rear heel IR is arched and therefore rests only in its central part and by its edge on the riblon 5 which plays both the role of a support plate for distributing the pressure and a protective plate for the material of the cross member 2 .
- the blade 1 exerts approximately on the riblon 5 a force of 630 kg, which corresponds to a pressure of approximately 105 kg / cm2 which is entirely acceptable for the concrete cross member knowing that the riblon 5 has a thickness d '' about 4 mm and a breaking strength of around 70 kg / mm2.
- the ribloa therefore has all the necessary and sufficient qualities to fulfill its role.
- the housing 7 with the riblon 5 is located in the plane of symmetry of the leaf spring 1.
- the projections 2D, 2G allow both to position transversely the leaf spring 1 relative to the rail, in association with the clamping means 3 and to prevent any rotation of the blade 1 around the axis of said clamping means.
