Definitions
- the invention relates to a two-part beverage can made of metal with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- Two-part beverage cans of this type are known in many embodiments, the focus in particular being on a pressure-stable base geometry during development (cf. US Pat. No. 3,998,174, US Pat. No. 4,147,271 or DE-OS No. 27 23 700).
- a preferred embodiment is one in which the diameter of the circular edge region of the central base section is larger than the smallest diameter of the annular intermediate floor section, so that the intermediate floor section for connecting these two areas has a wall section from the intermediate floor section to the inside of the container but which is inclined outwards.
- the geometry is expediently designed according to the features of claims 3 and / or 4.
- the frustoconical wall region of the intermediate floor section runs approximately parallel and at a short distance from the inside of the container to the frustoconical outer bottom section, so that these two form the legs of a U-shaped bottom profile, the ends of which, on the one hand, with the tank body and, on the other hand, with the central base section are connected via corresponding curvatures.
- the angle which the frustoconical wall region of the intermediate floor section encloses with a plane perpendicular to the container axis is expedient both as a function of the radius of curvature and of the radius of the spherical segment of the central floor area, especially depending on their ratio.
- the floor geometry shown leads to an extraordinarily high internal pressure stability and enables the use of thinner sheets, so that the cans can also be produced with considerable material savings.
- the usual beverage can shown in FIG. 1 is one with a conventional base profile.
- the cylindrical body 1 of the can produced in one piece by deep drawing and ironing has an outer ring shaped bottom section 3, which has the shape of a truncated cone. Its smaller diameter points downwards and is connected to a central, dome-shaped base portion 4 via an intermediate base portion in the form of a radius of curvature.
- the intermediate floor section is designated by 5.
- the central section 4 of the base 2 takes up the greater part of the diameter of the base. Its radius is much larger than half the can diameter.
- the box is rotationally symmetrical with respect to the container axis 6.
- FIG. 2 shows the base geometry of the two-part beverage can according to the invention.
- the cylindrical body 8 merges into an outer truncated cone-shaped base section 9 over a radius of curvature.
- the area of the smallest diameter lying lower in the axial direction is connected to the central floor section 10 via an intermediate floor section 11, which in turn is dome-shaped and protrudes into the interior of the container.
- Figure 2 also shows the can 7 in a stack with an underlying can 12, the outwardly domed lid 13 is connected to the body of the can 12 via a seam 14 forming a truncated cone surface.
- the outer truncated cone-shaped base section 9 is inclined and dimensioned such that, as shown in FIG. 2, it engages in the truncated cone-shaped seam 14 when stacked and thus ensures a secure, wobble-free stand.
- the bottom geometry of the new can also enables safe stacking in connection with other lid shapes and other connecting seams between the lid and the container part of the two-part beverage can.
- FIG. 3 Details of the floor geometry can be better seen in FIG. 3, in which a floor half is shown on a larger scale.
- the cylindrical body 8 merges over a small radius of curvature 16 into the frustoconical outer bottom section 9.
- the edge of the dome-shaped, projecting central base section 10 is provided with an edge curvature 17 with which the central base section is continuously connected to the intermediate floor section 11.
- the intermediate floor section 11 has a U-shaped cross section, the two legs being formed on the outside by the frustoconical outer bottom section 9 and on the inside by a frustoconical wall region 18 of the intermediate floor section 11.
- the narrower diameter of both frustoconical wall areas lies axially further down and closer to the container axis than the further edges of these edge sections.
- the two frustoconical wall areas 9 and 18 are connected to one another via a wall section 19 which is circular in cross section.
- the outer truncated cone-shaped base section 9 forms an angle ⁇ with a plane perpendicular to the container axis.
- This angle can be between 20 and 60 ° and is preferably approximately 40 °.
- the frustoconical wall area 18 of the intermediate floor section 11 forms an angle ⁇ with the same plane.
- This angle is preferably selected as a function of both the radius of curvature R 1 and the radius of the spherical segment R 2 of the central base region 10. The determination is expediently carried out according to the equation
- the angle ⁇ can be the same size or smaller than the angle ⁇ . Both angles are preferably the same, so that the two frustoconical wall regions run parallel to one another and to the radius R 1R .
- the lengths l1 of the outer truncated cone-shaped base section or l2 of the truncated-cone-shaped wall area 18 of the intermediate floor section 11 can be changed, with l2 in the preferred embodiment being significantly smaller than l1.
- the length l2 can also be zero, so that the radius of curvature r2, which connects the two frusto-conical wall regions, comes closer to the container axis than the radius of curvature r3, which connects the intermediate floor section 11 to the central section 10 in FIG. 3 and 27 in FIG .
- the radius r2 can be between about 0.5 and 4 mm and is preferably about 1 to 1.5 mm.
- the bottom wall thickness can be significantly less than 0.28 mm without reducing the internal pressure stability of the bottom.
- the known electro-dip coating is expediently used, since this is a problem-free and reliable painting of all areas of the floor ensures.
- the production of the new floor geometry does not require any special measures except that a further deformation process is switched on after the deep-drawing and ironing process.
Abstract
Description
27 in Figur 4 verbindet.
