Definitions

  • the invention relates to a multi-part shelf, consisting of a middle part and two side parts, the plan area of which is half as large as that of the middle part, the shelf parts having vertical supports arranged at the corners and associated shelves, and articulated connections between the middle part and the side parts are provided, by means of which the side parts can be pivoted between a position in which they lie on a longer side of the middle part and a position in which they rest on shorter sides of the middle part.
  • Such a shelf is known from DE-U-87 07 225. Its central part has a rectangular plan, while the side parts each have a square plan, the edge length of which is equal to the short side and half the long side of the central part. This and the side parts are each provided with supports at all four corners.
  • the articulated connections consist of brackets that connect two adjacent supports.
  • the disadvantage is that the shelf has rectangular layouts in all positions, so it offers little variety.
  • Another disadvantage is that when pivoting a support of a side part is moved around a support of the central part, so that double supports with an inevitable intermediate gap disturb the visual impression in all positions.
  • the shelf is relatively heavy and complex due to the double supports.
  • the connecting straps can be moved relative to both supports and therefore the interconnected shelf parts are not only pivotable, but can also be displaced relative to one another to a limited extent. This makes it difficult to set up and align in a certain configuration.
  • the mutual support of the shelf parts suffers, ie the stability of the shelf as a whole.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a shelf of the type mentioned, which is very simple and stable and enables a large number of aesthetically pleasing solutions with both rectangular and triangular floor plans.
  • the middle part and the two side parts each have a plan in the form of a right-angled isosceles triangle, at the corners where the articulated connections are located, there is only a single support, which the shelves of the middle part and a side part carries, and the side parts between a position in which they rest with a cathete on the hypotenuse of the middle part, and a position in which they rest with the hypotenuse on a cathete of the middle part.
  • the shelf forms pillars with a square or rectangular plan.
  • it can be placed against a straight wall or in a corner, or it can be used to convert a column.
  • the matching of the floor plans of the two side parts and one half of the middle part simplifies the construction considerably. Further variations of the shelf, beyond the different positions of the side parts relative to the central part, result from changes in the height of the shelf parts. In order to be able to make such modifications easily, it is provided in a further preferred embodiment of the invention that the supports are subdivided into pluggable or screwable segments, each of which can be plugged through holes in one or two shelves and at the other end with a support surface for each one or two shelves are formed.
  • the shelf shown in Fig. 1 and 2 consists of three articulated parts, namely a central part R1 and two side parts R2 and R3. 2 all have a rectangular isosceles outline, the area of the central part R1 being twice as large as the area of each of the two side parts R2 and R3 which have the same plan. Accordingly, each half of the plan of the middle part R1 formed by the perpendicular bisector along line C-D in FIG. 2 corresponds to the plan of the side parts R2 and R3.
  • each shelf part R1, R2 and R3 is composed of vertical supports 10 and shelves 12 fixedly or releasably attached to them with a vertical spacing.
  • the middle part R1 has an additional vertical support 10 in the middle of the hypotenuse at point C.
  • the joint connections A and B are respectively there existing vertical supports of the central part R1 articulated to the adjacent vertical supports of the side parts R2 and R3.
  • the articulated connections A and B are located at the ends of the hypotenuse of the central part R1 and at one end of the hypotenuses of the side parts R2 and R3.
  • the arrangement is such that in the case of aligned hypotenuses, the right-angled corners of the side parts and the middle part are on opposite sides of the alignment line of the hypotenuses.
  • the articulated connections A and B have a sufficiently large pivoting range in order on the one hand to place the hypotenuses of the side parts R2 and R3 against the cathets of the middle part R1 and on the other hand in each case one cathete of the side parts R2 and R3 against the hypotenuse of the middle part R1.
  • the side parts R2 and R3 can assume any matching or different intermediate positions with respect to the middle part R1. This results in a large variability and adaptability of the shelf with great rigidity and good stability due to the connection of the individual shelf parts R1, R2 and R3.
  • FIG. 1 and 2 show the shelf in an extended position with a straight rear wall as a wall shelf
  • FIG. 3 a floor plan is shown which is obtained by the side parts R2 and R3 with their hypotenuses being folded against the cathets of the middle part R1 . With the resulting rectangular plan, the shelf forms a column.
  • the side parts R2 and R3 can also be pivoted towards the opposite side until they each abut with a catheter on the hypotenuse of the middle part R1 according to FIG. 4. Then the shelf forms a column with a square plan. As indicated in dashed lines in Fig. 4, there are slight deviations from the right angle of the side parts of the shelf is possible without significantly impairing its function and appearance.
  • Fig. 5 shows the shelf in the floor plan in a position in which the hypotenuses of the side parts R2 and R3 are aligned with the cathets of the middle part R1.
  • the shelf can line a corner or, depending on the given local conditions, line a pillar or a ledge on three sides. All of these possible uses are available because the shelves 12 are only attached to the vertical supports 10 and are therefore freely accessible from all sides when the shelves are set up in the middle of a room.
  • Such a placement of the shelf freely in the room, for. 6 shows the hypotenuses of the side parts R2 and R3 with the hypotenuse of the middle part R1.
  • this embodiment shows the division of the shelves of the middle part R1 into two triangular halves, which are the same size as the shelves of the side parts R2 and R3.
  • the shelf halves of the central part R1 are each attached to the vertical support at C in the middle of the hypotenuse except at two of its corners.
  • Such a division of the shelves of the central part R1 into two equally large halves is also used in the constructions according to FIGS. 7-10.
  • Fig. 7 the floor plan of the same shelf, which has been described above in various other positions, is shown in a position as a room divider with a small column.
  • the side part shown on the left with its hypotenuse is folded against a catheter of the middle part, while the hypotenuse of the right side part is aligned with the hypotenuse of the middle part.
  • Fig. 8 shows a position modified in contrast to the fact that now a catheter of the right side part with the hypotenuse of Middle part is aligned.
  • the shelf can serve as a wall shelf with a small column. If one folds the right side part according to FIG. 9 with a catheter against the hypotenuse of the middle part, a triangular shelf with column results for other applications, as can be set up, for example, in a wall corner.
  • Fig. 10 shows another relative position of the shelf parts, as it can be used to convert a column or a wall projection.
  • the hypotenuse of one side part is aligned with a catheter of the middle part, while the other side part lies with a cathete against the hypotenuse of the middle part.
  • the free space formed between the two side parts is half as wide as in the embodiment according to FIG. 5. Depending on the width of the column to be converted, one or the other of the two mentioned embodiments can be used.
  • Fig. 11 shows a preferred practical embodiment of a shelf to be disassembled. Its supports 10 are broken down into individual segments 16, wherein several segments 16 can be screwed together to form a longer support 10 by means of external and internal threads attached to their ends. Alternatively, it could also be provided that the segments are plugged together at their ends to form supports. The length of the segments essentially corresponds, apart from the screw engagement, the vertical spacing of the shelves. Two shelves 12 'and 12''are releasably attached to each screw connection or connection point of segments 16 arranged vertically one above the other.
  • pipe sections 18 'and 18'' are fixedly attached to the corners of the shelves, the inside diameter of which is smaller than the largest outside diameter of the segments 16, but larger than the diameter of a tapered, threaded end 20 of the segments 16.
  • the Assembly is a tapered end 20 through the pipe sections 18 'and 18''of the shelves 12 'and 12''pushed through and screwed to an internal thread 22 at the other end of another segment 16, the axial lengths of the tapered ends 20 and the thread 22 being chosen with reference to the length of the pipe sections 18' and 18 '' that in the assembled state the axially held shelves 12 'and 12''between two segments 16 have little or no play in the vertical direction.
  • a pivotable roller 14 is mounted in each case according to FIG. 11 by the tapered end 20 of the lowermost segment 16 being screwed to the bearing housing of the roller 14.
  • the shelves of the described shelf can, for. B. consist of metal, glass, wire glass, plastic or coated wood. If side or rear walls are to be attached to the shelf between the shelves, a wire mesh 28 according to FIG. 12 will expediently be used for this. It can e.g. B. be just large enough that its width corresponds to the length of a catheter of the outline of the side parts R2, R3, while its height corresponds to the vertical spacing of the shelves 12.
  • a simple attachment of the wire mesh 28 can be obtained by having all of the vertical wires of the mesh 28 protrude upward over the top horizontal wire and downward over the bottom wire, but only two vertical wires, preferably the outermost, at their upper and lower ends are bent according to FIG. 12A.
  • the differently aligned upper ends of the vertical wires can be when mounting the Wire mesh 28 a on the level of a shelf 12 along the rear or side edge extending wire - z.
  • the edge wire of a shelf also made of wire mesh - grasp on both sides, and in a corresponding manner, after this hooking, the upper wire ends of the grid 28 on the edge of a shelf by lowering the wire mesh 28 and the lower wire ends with a horizontal edge wire of the next lower shelf are brought into engagement, the upwardly projecting wire ends of the wire mesh 28 being dimensioned so long that they also remain in engagement with the upper shelf when the cranked lower wire ends of the wire mesh 28 have been placed on the edge wire of the lower shelf.
  • plate-shaped shelves can also be provided with holes at the edge into which a part of the upper and lower wire ends of the wire mesh 28 can be inserted.
