Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical connection device for a plurality of components according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • the invention aims to provide an electrical connection device of the type mentioned, which in addition to an assembly and maintenance-friendly connection for the lines coming from the components of the heater, in particular a tight seal to the environment, guaranteed.
  • an electrical connection device for components of vehicle heaters is characterized in that plug parts are arranged on the lines coming from the respective components, which are grouped into a unit, and in that a cap with complementary plug parts and an outlet for a collecting line on the so formed unit is sealingly arranged by sealing edges and a non-positive connection.
  • each component and the connection lines assigned to it are each assigned a preferably block-shaped plug part, which is preferably molded directly onto the lines, so that confusion and polarity reversal are largely excluded.
  • This also simplifies the connection, since one does not have to connect the individual lines coming from the components separately to the electrical connection device, but a connection is already integrated in each plug part.
  • the electrical connection to the electrical connection device is then completed by placing a cap on the block-shaped plug parts grouped into a unit, which cap has correspondingly complementary plug parts that cooperate with the block-shaped plug parts.
  • the electrical connection device when the cap is put on, the electrical connection is made by the interaction of the block-shaped plug parts and the complementary plug parts on the cap, and at the same time a sealing closure is created. Furthermore, the design of the electrical connection device according to the invention is extremely easy to maintain, since in the event of a malfunction, after loosening a fastening screw and removing the cap, the component together with the lines and the molded plug part are removed from the grouped unit and is replaced by a corresponding new assembly. Advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the subclaims.
  • sleeves are inserted in a floating manner in the plug parts, and the cap has pins, a plug connection being formed in the interaction of the two parts.
  • the arrangement can also be reversed. If the pins are provided on the cap, they are expediently firmly injected there and positioned in a predetermined arrangement.
  • the plug parts are block-shaped and arranged next to one another, so that the construction of the electrical connection device is as simple as possible to obtain.
  • the block-shaped connector parts are made of resilient material, such as soft rubber, so that the grouped unit can be compressed when the cap is fitted and attached in order to hold the entire electrical connection device together and thereby achieve a watertight seal.
  • An advantageous embodiment of the electrical connection device according to the invention is characterized in that the respective plug part and / or the cap are adapted to the outer contour of the heater, for which purpose at least one surface of these parts is suitably designed.
  • this surface has, for example, an arc-shaped cross section. It is hereby achieved that the entire electrical connection device lies in an elegant manner against the outer contour of the housing of the heater and that no additional brackets are required for fastening the electrical connection device.
  • a cable cover is provided in one piece on the cap, which is preferably also adapted to the outer contour of the heater.
  • this cable cover the cables coming from the components are brought together before the molded connector parts and, in particular, damage to these connecting lines can be avoided when installing the heater, since they are protected by the cable cover.
  • the outlet provided on the cap preferably comprises a strain relief device for the collecting line going to the control device and / or the power supply, to prevent malfunctions caused by a tensile load on the outgoing manifold.
  • the manifold can be cast in.
  • the outlet is preferably designed as a tubular extension which surrounds the collecting line and which is expediently molded directly onto the cap.
  • the design according to the invention can be such that the block-shaped connector parts are each individually designed, i.e. that the block-shaped connector parts of the respective components differ from each other. Furthermore, the block-shaped connector parts in the grouped arrangement can be positively connected with one another to form a watertight seal, and these positive connections can also be designed to be confusion-free in order to avoid interchanging the block-shaped connector parts with the respective components.
  • each block-shaped plug part expediently has a projecting part on one side and a correspondingly recessed receptacle on an opposite side, in which the respective projecting part of the adjacent block-shaped plug part can then engage in a form-fitting manner.
  • This positive connection also strengthens the cohesion of the block-shaped plug parts with one another in the unit combined into a group.
  • the sealing edge can be arranged in a projecting manner directly on the respective plug part, in which case the block-shaped plug parts of a grouped unit arranged next to one another form a continuous sealing edge on the corresponding sealing edges on the cap Press the assembled electrical connection device so that no moisture can get to the cooperating connector parts.
  • An alternative embodiment of the electrical connection device according to the invention is characterized in that the connector parts coming from the respective components are accommodated in a rigid support each enclosing them.
  • the rigid support surrounding the plug parts enables the unit made up of a block-shaped plug part to be held together securely.
  • a circumferential seal is advantageously arranged between the cap and the carrier, so that the space enclosed by the cap and the carrier is reliably sealed off.
  • connection device consisting of cap, carrier and connector parts provided in this can expediently be attached to the outer housing of the heating device with the aid of a holder, the connection of holder and arrangement of the electrical connection device advantageously being connected with the aid of a common fastening device, e.g. a continuous fastening screw.
  • the electrical connection device is designated overall.
  • the components of the heater 1 each have lines 4 which are expediently formed by a pair of individual conductors. These components can be the ignition device of the heater 1, flame monitor devices, temperature fuses, sensors such as temperature sensors and the like.
  • the number of components to be connected and connected with the aid of the electrical connecting device 3 also depends on the type of heater, ie on whether it is a heater with a liquid heat transfer medium, such as a water heater, or a heater with a gaseous heat transfer medium, such as an air heater.
  • the lines 4 coming from the respective components are expediently brought together on one side of the electrical connection device 3, and before the lines 4 enter the electrical connection device 3 they are protected by a cable cover 5.
  • the lines 4 coming from the components can also enter the electrical connection device on different sides depending on the positions of the respective components.
  • the electrical connection device 3 comprises a grouped unit 6, consisting of several block-shaped plug parts 7, which will be explained in more detail below, and a cap 8, which is placed on the grouped unit 6 made of block-shaped plug parts 7 and partially encompasses this unit 6. As indicated, the cap 8 and the grouped unit 6 are firmly connected to one another with the aid of a through screw 9, for example.
  • the cable cover 5 is integrally formed on the cap 8 of the electrical connection device 3 and furthermore the cap has an outlet 10 for a collecting line leading from the electrical connection device 3 then leads, for example, to a control unit and / or a power supply device, not shown.
  • the outlet 10 can be molded onto the cap 8 in the example shown.
  • the individual block-shaped connector parts are denoted by 7 in FIG. 2 and they differ from one another in terms of shape and / or size in order to achieve an assignment to the respective components of the heater 1 in an individual manner.
  • the block-shaped connector parts 7 are designed like a domino and the lines 4 coming from the components are integrated directly into the block-shaped connector parts 7.
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 contain, for example, inserted sleeves 12 as one of the parts for forming a plug connection in connection with the cap 8. These sleeves 12 could also be used firmly in the formation of the block-shaped plug parts 7.
  • the respective block-shaped plug part 7 has an outwardly projecting edge 13, so that a continuous edge strip is formed in the grouped unit 6, for example in the longitudinal direction.
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 designed in the manner of a domino are, as shown, positively connected to one another in the unit 6 combined to form a group.
  • This positive connection 14 is arranged in a plane parallel to the base of the respective block-shaped plug parts 7.
  • each block-shaped connector part 7 has a corresponding one side projecting part 15 and a groove-shaped recess 16 serving as a receptacle on an opposite side.
  • a projecting part 15 of an adjacent block-shaped plug part 7 engages in each of these groove-shaped recess 16 in order to produce the positive connection 14.
  • the design is such that the desired watertightness is also achieved with the positive connection 14.
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 located at the end of the grouped unit 6, which are expediently arranged next to one another in the unit 6, can be designed to differentiate between block-shaped plug parts 7 between them so that, for example, no groove-shaped recess is formed on one side, and only one projecting part 15 is provided.
  • the block-shaped connector parts 7 differ from each other.
  • the block-shaped plug part 7 located at the front is designed to be narrow and has only one projecting part 15.
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 lying in the middle, which are each provided with a projecting part 15 and a groove-shaped recess 16, differ from one another in terms of their dimensions.
  • the block-shaped plug part 7 arranged at the rear end of the grouped unit 6 comprises two individual parts.
  • this design ensures that the order of the block-shaped plug parts 7 in the grouped unit 6 is uniquely predetermined.
  • more block-shaped plug parts 7 than in the example shown in FIG. 2, or possibly less, can also be provided. This essentially depends on the type of heater 1.
  • the cap 8 is shown.
  • This cap 8 expediently consists of a rigid material
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 expediently consist of an elastic, resilient material, such as, for example, soft rubber.
  • This cap 8 contains complementary plug parts 17, which are expediently injected in a fixed arrangement, preferably into the cap 8.
  • these complementary plug parts 17 are formed by pins which, when the cap 8 is placed on the grouped unit 6, engage in the respective sleeves 12 of the block-shaped plug parts 7 and thereby an electrical connection and a corresponding connection to the collecting line 11 leading from the cap 8 produce.
  • This cap 8 is designed in such a way that it engages around the block-shaped plug parts 7 of the grouped unit 6 in order to reliably hold this grouped unit 6 together.
  • the cap 3 is designed such that it has a downwardly projecting edge 18 which partially rests on the edge 13 of the block-shaped plug parts 7 and partially engages over it.
  • the lower edge 18 of the cap 8 thus forms a seal, in particular to prevent moisture from penetrating into the electrical connection device 3.
  • the seal provided here, formed in the interaction of the edge 13 and the edge 18, can also be realized in a different way than in the example shown.
  • the outlet 10 for the manifold 11 is formed on the cap 8, which leads to a schematically illustrated control device 19 for the heater 1 and a power supply device 20.
  • the cable cover 5 can be molded onto the cap 8.
  • This embodiment of the electrical connection device 3 explained with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 is designed such that it can be attached directly to an outside of the outer housing 2 of the heater 1, for example shown in FIG. 1, without an intermediate carrier. Therefore, as shown, the surfaces of the block-shaped plug parts 7 and the cap 8 assigned to the outer housing 2 of the heater 1 are circular in a corresponding manner for adaptation to the outer housing 2, so that the entire electrical connection device 3 lies well against the outer surface of the outer housing 2. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the block-shaped plug parts 7 are formed directly on the lines 4 coming from the respective components and thus form a physically connected unit with the components.
  • the individual block-shaped connector parts 7 are held together in the grouped unit 6 and, thanks to the floating mounting of the sleeves 12, tolerance-related deviations from the interlocking connector parts of the plug connection of the cap 8 from the block-shaped connector parts 7 can also be compensated for.
  • the protruding pins are inserted in the block-shaped connector parts 7 or are firmly embedded in the same.
  • the complementary plug parts on the cap 8 which then cooperate with these protruding pins are formed by correspondingly designed sleeves provided there. Combinations to achieve the connection of the complementary plug parts in electrical connection devices 3 are also possible, so that, for example, some block-shaped plug parts 7 have pins and others have sleeves, while the corresponding complementary parts are provided in the cap 8.
  • FIG. 4 to 6 a second preferred embodiment of an electrical connection device is explained in more detail, which is referred to here to distinguish it from the previous embodiment with 3 '.
  • This electrical connection device 3 ' differs essentially from the previous embodiment in that a carrier 21, preferably made of rigid material, is provided.
  • a carrier 21, preferably made of rigid material is provided.
  • insertion pockets 22 are formed, in which the block-shaped plug parts 7 'formed on the lines 4 coming from the respective components can be used.
  • two such block-shaped connector parts 7 ' are shown in the inserted state in the insertion pockets 22 on the carrier 21.
  • These block-shaped connector parts 7 ' have projecting pins 23 to form the plug connection, which are embedded in the respective block-shaped connector parts 7' together with the lines 4.
  • the block-shaped connector parts 7 ' can match each other in terms of dimensions and the like, so that one obtains a manufacturing simplification.
  • the rigid support 21 serves to stiffen the grouped unit 6, which comprises the block-shaped connector parts 7 '.
  • the cap 8 ' has in the embodiment of the electrical connection device 3' according to FIGS. 4 to 6 complementary sleeves 24, which are then pushed onto the pins 23 for establishing the electrical connection.
  • On the cap 8 ' is formed as an outlet 10 for the manifold 11, a tubular extension 25 which contains a strain relief device 26 for the manifold 11. If, in an alternative embodiment, the manifold 11 is injected directly into the cap 8 '(not shown), the strain relief device can be omitted.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 is a circumferential between the cap 8 'made of rigid material and the carrier 21 Seal 27 arranged to achieve a moisture-tight termination of the electrical connection device 3 '.
  • the electrical connection device 3 ' is attached by means of a holder 28 to the outer housing 2 of the heater 1, not shown. With the help of a through screw 29, the arrangement of the carrier 21 with the inserted block-shaped plug parts 7 'and the attached cap 8' is firmly connected to the holder 28, wherein in the connected state of the electrical connection device 3 'the circumferential seal 27 between the cap 8' and the carrier 21 is compressed.
  • the block-shaped plug parts 7 ' can be removed from the carrier 21 together with the components associated therewith when the cap 8' is removed from the carrier 21 in the course of maintenance work. As can be seen from Fig. 4, the block-shaped connector parts 7 'can then be pulled out and replaced by correspondingly new ones. Although not shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, can be attached to the cap 8 'similar to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 3, a cable cover 5, more appropriately molded.
