Definitions

  • the invention relates to a knife with a hollow handle body, in which a stationary holding and guiding element is received, which protrudes from the end of the handle body, in which a blade holder is also relatively displaceably received, which is connected to the stationary holding and guiding element via a tension spring connected is.
  • Such a knife is known from DE-B-27 36 395.
  • the knife can be locked in its working position with the blade extended by means of an outwardly protruding actuating handle by transverse pressure on the thumb.
  • the handle is released, the blade holder and blade are returned to the hollow knife handle by the spring tension.
  • This feature represents an essential safety factor against injuries to the operator.
  • the time-consuming blade change which is to be carried out at certain time intervals is perceived as being in need of improvement. The process should be quicker to do.
  • the construction of the known knife is quite complex, so that it can only be used in preferred areas of application, but with considerable advantage there.
  • the invention has for its object to design the knife of the type mentioned so that the blade change can be carried out quickly and safely in a simple manner.
  • a simple, less expensive design is sought, which is the prerequisite for a knife which can be used in many work areas, in particular when cutting cardboard boxes.
  • the knife is designed such that the handle body represents a grip sleeve which is substantially rectangular in cross section and, on the blade-side end facing away from the holding and guide element, has engagement recesses into which the blade holder, which consists of two side elements enclosing the blade, projects.
  • the blade holder is easily accessible by simply pulling the holding and guiding element out of the grip sleeve, so that the desired rapid blade change is made possible.
  • a knife without a tension spring is known, the handle body of which is designed as a rectangularly rectangular handle sleeve.
  • the known grip sleeve has one end face a floor.
  • the known knife has neither a blade holder comparable with the subject matter of the invention nor engagement recesses on the handle body side.
  • a side element of the blade holder has two guide ribs, which are slidably received by guide grooves of the stationary holding element. Tilting of the blade holder, which leads to jamming of the blade and thus to one This eliminates the risk of injury.
  • One end of the guide ribs expediently carries a stop which engages in an elongate opening within the stationary holding element. This elongated opening thus represents a movement limitation for the displacement of the blade holder. When the stop is in contact with the front end of the opening, the blade is in the working position.
  • the second guide groove opens at its rear end in an opening in the stationary holding and guiding element.
  • the second side element opposite the side element carrying the guide ribs has Knife dowel pins in the direction of displacement, which engage in fitting holes of the stationary holding element. This ensures the blade change insofar as when the side part carrying the guide ribs is tilted, the second side element is firmly locked in its position on these dowel pins even when the tension spring is acting eccentrically.
  • the stationary holding and guiding element forms a rigid unit with the side part in this position, so that when changing the blade the blade can be placed on the side part without the risk of folding away under tension spring action.
  • the dowel pins and dowel holes are preferably shorter than the guide ribs of the side element.
  • a side element of the blade holder carries a holding projection for the tension spring on a projecting tab, which is arranged in a longitudinal groove of the stationary holding and guiding element, which in turn carries the opposite holding projection for the spring.
  • the spring is thus encompassed on three sides by the holding and guiding element and is thus protected against operation.
  • the holding projection of the side element for the spring is expediently overlapped by a recess in a tab provided on the opposite side element. A sliding of the spring is therefore excluded and a secure mounting is guaranteed.
  • the side elements of the blade holder preferably have a profiling on the outside in order to facilitate the transfer into the working position.
  • the end of the stationary holding and guiding element is provided with engagement troughs on the part protruding beyond the grip sleeve, which make it easier to pull the knife out of the grip sleeve.
  • the grip sleeve itself is preferably formed from an essentially rectangular sheet metal blank and has mutually opposite engagement recesses for the blade holder.
  • FIG 1 and 2 show a side view of the knife, provided in its entirety with the reference number 10, in the rest position on the one hand and in the working position on the other hand.
  • the blade holder 11 with the blade 12 received by it can be extended against the pull of a spring 31 out of the grip sleeve 13.
  • the knife 10 is then in the working position shown in FIG. 2.
  • the spring force and self-locking can be adjusted so that the knife remains in the working position during the cutting process due to the cutting resistance counteracting the spring restoring force, and snaps back into the grip sleeve 13 immediately after relieving the pressure (ending the cutting work), which makes working pleasant and at the same time the desired one high security against injuries to the operator is guaranteed.
  • FIG. 3 shows the holder of the blade 12 on the basis of a cross-sectional illustration.
  • a first and a second side element 15 and 16 enclose the blade 12 between them and are in positive engagement with one another.
  • Positioning projections 17 provided on the second side element 16 pass through bores in the blade 12 and engage with corresponding cutouts in the first side element 15.
  • the two side elements 15 and 16 are slidably received by the grip sleeve 13.
  • Fig. 4 shows the holding and guiding element 18, the outer contour of which corresponds substantially to the inner dimensions of the grip sleeve 13 in the area of a main body, so that it can be slidably received by the latter against frictional resistance.
  • the holding and guiding element 18 carries a shoulder 19 which is supported at the rear end of the grip sleeve 13.
  • Engagement troughs 20 facilitate the pulling out of the element 18 together with the blade holder 11 from the grip sleeve 13.
  • An end bore 21 serves as a suspension opening or for fastening a cord.
  • the opposite guide groove 23 of the element 18 also has an elongated but somewhat shorter opening 28 in the bottom of the groove.
  • the opening 28 is able to receive the end of the guide rib 25 when the side element 15 is opened, as will be explained in more detail later with reference to FIG. 7 will have to be explained.
  • the holding and guiding element 18 is also provided in the direction of displacement of the blade holder 11 with a central longitudinal groove 29 which carries a holding projection 30 for the tension spring 31 at its rear end.
  • the tension spring 31 is received by the longitudinal groove 29.
  • the opposite end of the tension spring 31 is held on a projection 32 which is carried by a tab 33 which is centered on the holding and guiding element 18 Side of the second side element 16 is located.
  • a corresponding tab 34 of the opposite side element 15 there is a recess 35 which, in the assembled state of the knife, engages around an axial projection of the projection 32 of the side element 16 so that the eye of the tension spring 31 is offered a secure hold.
  • the second side element 16 carries a somewhat eccentric longitudinal recess for receiving the blade 12. Position projections 17 of the side element 16 already mentioned in connection with FIG. 3 pass through corresponding openings in the blade 12 and are overlapped by recesses 35 in the first side element 15.
  • the side element 15 is provided with an eccentric longitudinal projection which engages in the longitudinal recess of the opposite side element 16, so that the blade 12 is held and secured in a form-fitting manner.
  • Both side elements 15 and 16 each have a bevel 36 and 37 at a front corner, beyond which the cutting edge 44 of the blade 12 protrudes, so that it can be brought into engagement with the material to be processed.
  • the second side element 16 carries dowel pins 39 and 38 in the direction of movement x (longitudinal axial direction) on the side facing the holding and guiding element 18, which bores 40 and 41 are made in corresponding holes in the holding and guiding element 18 intervention.
  • the second side element 16 is fixed to the holding and guiding element 18, even when the first side element 15 is removed, in order to replace the blade 12, ie it is also secured against tipping under the action of the tension spring 31.
  • FIG. 6 shows the holding and guiding element 18 with the tension spring 31 inserted and with the side element 15 attached.
  • the blade 12 is now enclosed between the two side elements 15 and 16.
  • the two side elements 15 and 16 carry profilings 42 to improve the engagement when the knife 10 is actuated.
  • the grip sleeve 13 is formed from a substantially rectangular sheet metal blank by means of appropriate bevels. As is clear from FIGS. 1 and 2, it bears mutually opposite engagement recesses 43 in the area of the blade holder 11, through which the profiling 42 of the blade holder 11 can be gripped.
  • the grip sleeve 13 can be provided with a layer of lacquer or any desired design.
  • FIG. 7 shows the holding and guiding element 18 with the side element 15 pivoted out for exchanging the blade 12.
  • the outer end of the guiding rib 25 and correspondingly the end of the guiding rib 24 which is not visible here penetrate through the openings 27 and 29 in FIG Guide grooves 22 and 23 of the holding and guiding element 18.
  • the side element 15 is held during the blade changing process, so that it does not need to be put down.
  • the side element 15 is pivoted back again and practically inevitably, including the blade 12, lies on the second side element 16 by the recess 35 engaging around the retaining projection 32 for the corresponding spring eye of the tension spring 31.
