Definitions

  • baling press according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Baling presses of this type which is common in practice, in particular high-performance presses designed as channel baling presses, are not only because of the required pressing pressures and spreading pressures, but also because of the amount of crushed material, dust and dirt which is difficult to control robust design.
  • the penetration of moist paper dust must be taken into account, particularly in the case of balers for paper, the material to be pressed may be exposed to damp weather.
  • a critical area for this is the intermediate area between the press ram and the press box, which is essentially covered on the front side by a press plate, but cannot be completely shielded against the ingress of paper dust.
  • the spaces between the press ram and the press box can absorb paper dust, which can compress and harden to a mass due to moisture and mechanical action of the moving parts, which can only be removed with heavy tools during maintenance.
  • this mass can enclose the rollers or block them on the underside in the manner of a brake wedge, which makes the press ram stiff and can be damaged due to grinding loads on the rollers and roller conveyors.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a baler which is press-compatible, i.e. Robust means in particular provide reliable protection against blocking and damage to the rollers by ingress of dust.
  • the cover is particularly advantageous for the cover to be guided around the rollers to such an extent that a contact area of the rollers remains free only on the underside.
  • the underneath support rollers near the press plate, which are particularly at risk, will have to be protected, but the cover can also enclose rollers located further back.
  • a preferred embodiment provides the form of a continuous block strip for the cover, which closes at the front with the press plate and which protrudes laterally opposite the rollers, so that it also has a sliding block for guiding the side in a version made of a slidable material such as polyamide plastic Press ram in the press box forms.
  • the baling press designated overall by 1 in the drawing is shown for simplification only in a partial section, in which the side view according to FIG. 1 shows a feed chute 2 to which a press box 3 is connected on the underside, which in turn horizontally forwards into a press channel 4 passes with pressed paper material 5.
  • a press ram 6 can be advanced through the press box 3 into the press channel 4, the drive being effected via a piston rod 7 of a pressure medium-actuated actuator (not shown).
  • the press die 6 closes on the front side with a press plate 8 which is largely adapted to the cross section of the press box 3 and the press channel 4.
  • a cutting bar 9 is provided which allows material protruding beyond the press plate 8 and the press channel 4 to be sheared off and thus to prevent blocking or jamming.
  • the press ram 6 is usually closed at the top by a cover plate (not shown), which largely prevents the entry of paper and dirt into cavities of the press ram 6.
  • These cavities include, in addition to front vertical slots 10, which when strapping the finished bales with wire for the passage of wire and strapping tools are to be provided, lateral gaps between vertical side walls 11, 12 of the press ram and vertical side walls 13, 14 of the press box.
  • front vertical slots 10 which when strapping the finished bales with wire for the passage of wire and strapping tools are to be provided, lateral gaps between vertical side walls 11, 12 of the press ram and vertical side walls 13, 14 of the press box.
  • On both sides there are clearances between the walls and thus spaces in which lower rollers 15, 16 (at a short distance behind the press plate 8 and 17, 18 at a greater distance from the press plate) are mounted on the plunger.
  • the plunger 6 is supported on the underside on two roller tracks, which are formed in the region of the plunger 3 by a full-surface bottom 19 and further back (not shown) by separate rails, in order to allow loose dust material to fall down there if possible can.
  • rollers 20, 21 are provided, which support the plunger in a downward manner against the upper roller tracks of the press box.
  • the press plate 8 must keep a movement gap to the walls of the press box 3 and the press channel 4 in order to avoid a grinding system and also a risk of jamming when material enters.
  • special recesses are necessary in certain cases when the pressure plate 8, for example, should pass into the press channel 4 retaining fingers 22, 23, 24, which prevent the pressed material from returning elastically into the press box.
  • This block strip-shaped cover 25 and 26 in particular, encloses the rollers 15, 16 adjacent to the pressing plate 8, except for a narrow movement gap 27.
  • the rollers are not only covered against dust, it prevents in particular the formation of plugs of dust and densify in interaction with the role.
  • the block strips 25, 26 are pulled through to the pressure plate 8, on the rear side of which.
  • the movement gap 27 prevents larger material masses from sticking because of its narrowness, but at the same time it creates a self-cleaning effect in which any small dust masses are ejected with the rotation of the roller.
  • the block strips consist of a water-repellent and smooth plastic, which counteracts the sticking of dust on the plastic.
  • the block strips are also continued to the rear rollers 17, 18 and cover them at least in the area of the space between the rollers and on the upper side, again with a corresponding narrow movement gap between the block strip and roller.
  • the top of the block strips 25, 26 forms a continuous straight surface on which dirt material is relatively difficult to attach and from which it is easy to remove.
  • the block strips 25, 26 are not only so wide in their width that they completely cover the rollers 15, 16, 17 and 18. They are also provided with a side overhang on the rollers. They are also able to take over the function of sliding shoes or rubbing strips to improve the lateral guidance of the press ram and to reduce material wear, frictional forces and noise with a sliding system.
  • the block strips 25, 26 can also be designed with a lateral protrusion over the edge of the press plate 8, since the block strips to the side walls of the press box 3 and press channel 4 only one need extremely small movement or sliding gap.
  • a wear-resistant, lubricious material such as polyamide is preferably provided as the plastic. To increase the stability of this material, it can also be made fiber-reinforced, for example with a reinforcement by glass fiber, carbon fiber or metal fibers.
  • the block bar is not fixed to plastic in terms of material.
  • Metal versions are also water-repellent and wear-resistant. Good glowing properties can be achieved with non-ferrous metals, especially bronze alloys, or gray cast iron. Long service lives can be achieved with steel alloys, which moreover allow the cover to be welded on instead of screw mounting or the like.
  • the cover can be formed in several parts or in multiple layers from different materials, for example in order to design an outer cover plate for the function of a sliding or wearing surface.
