Definitions

  • the invention relates to a doctor device for applying application material such as foamable substances of different viscosities, coating materials, lacquers, adhesives, pastes or the like. on an application surface (substrate) with a squeegee that can be pressed against it, the device comprising a squeegee element that acts on the application material with the squeegee, which is held by a support bar, which is mounted directly in a position-adjustable holder that is adjustable in distance from the application surface, and that as a result of the change in the holder spacing about an axis of articulation determined by the doctor blade extension of an articulated connection arranged on the doctor blade element and connecting it to the holder can be pivoted.
  • application material such as foamable substances of different viscosities, coating materials, lacquers, adhesives, pastes or the like.
  • Such a squeegee device is used, for example, in machines for flat stencil printing, for round stencil applications and / or devices for stencilless full-area applications, the width of the application area or the doctor blade extension being able to be several meters.
  • sample applications printing
  • full-surface applications e.g. impregnation, coating, dyeing, painting
  • Influencing the order result or the setting of the order quantities is of considerable importance. It is known to vary the application result by changing the contact pressure and / or the selection of doctor blades.
  • the dependency of the application result on the contact pressure, the substrate material, the substance viscosity and / or the size or the spatial shape of the substance supply before a doctor blade leads to problems which have not been satisfactorily solved in every respect.
  • doctor blades with a small diameter are used for the application of small amounts of substance, doctor blades with a large diameter, however, for the application of larger amounts of substance.
  • too much contact force is disadvantageous for some application materials or goods or substrate qualities.
  • a lever drive for adjusting the angle of a doctor blade attached to a doctor element (rail).
  • the doctor element rigidly connected to the handlebars must be set in a position firmly locked to the application surface in order to be able to press the blade against an application surface by means of an air chamber arranged between the latter and the doctor element.
  • the means for locking the doctor element are exposed to particular mechanical wear.
  • the space requirement of the known device is undesirably large with the mounting space required for the lever drive.
  • a squeegee device is also known (DE-A 25 44 784), in which a squeegee roller can be pressed against the back of a profiled strip which is distanced from the rolling surface of the squeegee roller.
  • a profile strip in addition to the doctor blade effect, a doctor blade effect influencing the application result can be produced to a practically limited extent.
  • the profile strip and the doctor blade roller form components which must be kept available in a manner adapted to one another, in particular for each type of machine and the particular type of application, and in this respect are to be handled separately from one another.
  • the application quantity, the size of the substance space and / or its shape must be determined and fixed before starting up a printing device.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a doctor blade device that is particularly simple to build, easy to handle and can be used universally in different application machines and with which the application result or the application of substance during operation of a machine is largely continuous, accurate, reproducible, defined and can also be fine-tuned.
  • the device is a the squeegee element from the holder spacing holding element in the form of a retaining strip, a holding profile or the like., Which is carried by the support beam, and that the squeegee element is articulated by means of the articulation in the form of a joint to the holding element such that that about the hinge axis pivotable squeegee element is pressed against this against the application surface due to the pivoting articulation on the holding element.
  • the conversion of the spacing movement of the holder into the pivoting movement of the doctor element enables the doctor element to be positioned and aligned very effectively and precisely with respect to the parameters relevant for the substance application.
  • the pivoting movement of the doctor element allows the substance storage space lying between it and the application surface to be changed as desired in terms of size or shape and / or an application angle of a substance wedge which is in doctor blade extension in front of a doctor blade or in front of its application or pressure line.
  • the pivoting of the doctor element can be carried out in a large angular range with already small changes in the distance of the holder.
  • the change in the distance of the holder from the application surface can be accomplished with simple means, and it can be carried out during machine operation according to a very important aspect of the invention.
  • Another significant advantage is that one and the same doctor element can be used for very different application results, for different application types and / or different machines, since its application effect can be adjusted to different desired application functions due to the pivoting that can be carried out over a wide angular range.
  • the level of the contact pressure of the doctor element in the direction of the application surface is less important than in conventional devices, since the application result can be adjusted to a considerable extent regardless of a large or small contact pressure due to the pivotability of the doctor element.
  • an assembly space-saving unit is achieved within an application device, in particular in a round stencil printing machine.
  • the application result can be influenced in a particularly favorable manner with the inflatable distance movement of the doctor element, in that the doctor element has at least one doctor axis or profile surface that is parallel to the application surface and has a working gap that tapers or narrows in the direction of the area of a doctor pressure line and / or or trains order material room.
  • the working gap or the order material space can be changed to a large extent, especially during machine operation.
  • a relatively large pressure is exerted on the substance with a flat working gap or a flat substance wedge, so that the depth of penetration into a substrate is correspondingly large.
  • a relatively large substance space is achieved with a steep working gap, in which case the pressure on the substance is relatively low.
  • a flat-shaped working gap or a steep-shaped working gap can be changed continuously and - if desired - only slightly by the pivoting movement of the doctor element.
  • Parts of the doctor element can have a doctor blade and / or roller doctor blade.
  • the doctor element is designed as a profile strip, in particular at least partially made of plastic, in or on which a doctor blade and / or doctor blade is mounted by means of a receptacle is.
  • the doctor blade is evasive in the direction facing away from the application surface, the profile strip in particular being cut free on the side facing away from the application surface in such a way that a recess is formed on the back of the doctor blade.
  • a very advantageous embodiment consists in the fact that the profile strip is integrated with a roller doctor blade, in that it is provided free-running in a receptacle of the profile strip.
  • the roller doctor blade is freely supported in a receptacle against the sliding surface or coating by the force of a magnetic device arranged in a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the profile strip, which can comprise a permanent magnet in the profile strip extension or axis.
  • the profile strip and the doctor blade roll form a handling unit which can be installed in or removed from a printing device and also cleaned as a unit.
  • the apex area of the doctor roller lying against the sliding surface or the sliding coating also forms a sealing strip, so that no substance can get into the area behind the doctor roller.
  • the squeegee element or the profile bar has at least one particularly continuous, advantageously also the Magnetic bearing of a doctor roll in the profile bar serving supporting element with a mass provided for the doctor pressure. It is beneficial that in the profile bar a support member made of magnetizable material such as steel or the like. is embedded, so that a doctor blade can be magnetically pressed by means of a magnetic device arranged under the application surface.
  • a doctor blade can be designed with a relatively small diameter, since the profile strip with the doctor blade carried by it can already be magnetically attracted or pressed by means of the beam-shaped support element in particular and / or the iron weight of the support element or the profile strip.
  • One embodiment of the invention is that the distance of the bearing from the application surface can be changed by an adjustment that is essentially perpendicular to the latter, by pivoting the bearing and / or guiding the bearing along a curved path.
  • a vertical adjustment is very advantageously achieved in that the bearing comprises the squeegee bearing, laterally arranged on the application surface, to this height-variable holders.
  • the pivoting of the bearing is advantageously carried out about a longitudinally parallel axis, which lies on the side of the application surface with respect to the bearing. A doctor pressure line can thus be displaced either against or in the direction of travel of a substrate web when the bearing is lowered or the distance is reduced.
  • a guide of the bearing along a curved path can also be provided, with which the bearing can be lowered or raised at the same time.
  • a further embodiment consists in that the distance-adjustable adjustable bearing is arranged such that it can be changed substantially parallel to the application surface transversely to the doctor blade extension.
  • the pivoting longitudinal axis of the doctor element can be arranged offset with respect to the center of gravity or the center of gravity of the doctor element in such a way that it can be pivoted either to the right or to the left.
  • the holding element is carried at an angle by the bearing in such a way that the squeegee contact line remains in the area under the bearing, in particular in the area under an inserted in the bearing, with the holding element firmly connected to the holding element at the angle when the bearing distance changes.
  • the squeegee element In order to mount the squeegee element to the left or to the right in a pivotable manner and / or to preset the pivoting dimension, it is particularly expedient for the squeegee element to have a plurality of connection elements which can be used differently from the center of gravity.
  • a connecting element is preferably designed in the form of a plug-in or clamping element with which a swivel connection can be quickly and easily produced with a corresponding receptacle on the bearing or on the holding element.
  • the doctor element is made of plastic, it is very advantageous that it is pivotally mounted by means of a material-elastic joint.
  • the swivel bracket of the doctor element or the profile bar and the arrangement of the bearing are provided such that when the bearing moves at a distance or when the doctor element swivels, the doctor element is displaced transversely to the doctor extension while maintaining the pressed position.
  • the pivoting movement of the doctor element results in a change in location of the doctor pressure line transverse to the doctor extension in the direction of the substrate web. This is desirable if the doctor blade system or doctor blade coating or rolling surface is to be guided into a specific application line, for example in order to counteract an undesired misalignment of a doctor blade and / or a stencil shift or shape change possible during machine operation.
  • the bearing change of the doctor application line is particularly easy to accomplish even during machine operation.
  • the doctor element provided with the swivel bearing according to the invention is, in addition to the already mentioned magnetic possibility of pressing in the direction of the substrate, particularly well suited for pressing devices comprising mechanical, hydraulic and / or pneumatic means.
  • Each squeegee device 3 extends in a circular stencil 7.
  • a printing blanket 8 is a web forming the substrate or application surface 4, which moves during printing operation by means of the printing blanket 8 in the running direction L and thereby by pressing a squeegee 301, 302 against the Stencil 7 is printed by its pattern with a substance 5 lying in the running direction L in front of a doctor pressure line 36.
  • Each squeegee device 3 comprises a squeegee element 30 which supports a squeegee 301 or 302, a holding element 33 and a carrying bar 38 which can expediently form a substance feed tube (not shown) or carry it inside.
  • the holding element 33 is fixed at an angle W to the support bar 38 e.g. connected by means of a screw or welded connection.
  • the squeegee element 30 is articulated to the holding element 33 in the region above the application surface 4.
  • This is preferably in the form of a holding strip, a holding profile or the like. educated. It is shaped and connected to the support bar 38 in such a way that the doctor element 30 is located substantially below the support bar 38, the doctor line 36 coming to lie in the region of the intersection of the plane of symmetry of the bearing bar 38 which is perpendicular to the web 4 and parallel to the axis.
  • the doctor element 30 can be pivoted in each case by changing the distance A of the support bar 38, which corresponds to the distance of a bearing 2 supporting the support bar 38.
  • the bearing 2 comprises brackets 21 which are designed as bearing glasses and into which the carrying bar 38 is inserted.
  • the bearings 21 are arranged in an application machine or device (not shown in detail) to the side of the web 4, so that the support bar 38 extends freely over the application surface 4 or width of the goods.
  • the brackets 21 are steplessly changeable by means of a tripod guide 22, in particular height adjustment by an electric motor.

  • the combination of the two profile surfaces 310, 311 ensures that the profile strip 31 performs the actual substance application function directly in front of the doctor roller 302 by means of the gap r, while The size and shape of the substance in front of the doctor roller 302 can be adjusted essentially by changing the wedge-shaped storage space 51 '.
  • FIG. 1 and 2 show how a slight change in the height of the bearing 2 leads to a considerable change in the shape and / or size of the storage space 51 in front of the doctor pressure line 36.
  • the bearing 2 is lowered to the height A1 in a substantially perpendicular direction a to the application surface 4.
  • the doctor element 30, seen in the running direction L of the web 4 is arranged above the longitudinal axis 312, so that the pivoting movement S takes place to the left in the direction s when the distance is reduced.
  • the hinge axis 320 viewed in the running direction L, is provided below the longitudinal axis 312, so that when the bearing 2 is lowered, a pivoting movement S takes place to the right in the direction s.
  • the substance space 51 or a profile surface inclination angle with the web 4 can be reduced or enlarged by changing the distance in the direction a.
  • the profile surfaces shown in Fig. 1 to 9 are flat. However, these surfaces can also be provided so as to be curved in a manner suitable for influencing the substance work space.
  • FIGS. 3 to 5 The height-controlled variability of the substance space is particularly clear from FIGS. 3 to 5. There you can see that the profile strip 31 can be varied with the roller doctor blade 302 from a height position A3 to A2 to A1.
  • the doctor pressure line 36 is displaced in the web running direction L during a swiveling movement s to the left.
  • a targeted change in the position of the pressing line 36 along the web 4 or along the template 7 can thus be achieved. This is of particular importance if e.g. During machine operation, the contact line of the template 7 on the web 4 changes and / or a squeegee changes its position during operation. Such changes can be countered by the targeted shift v.
  • FIG. 4 shows a change in altitude for a bearing 2 (not shown in detail) with a horizontal movement component.
  • the bearing which carries the support beam 38, is pivoted along an arc K and / or guided on a curve ZB with scenes.
  • the hinge axis 320 is displaced against the running direction L.
  • the doctor pressure line 36 is displaced in the web running direction L as a result of the pivoting movement in the direction s of the profile strip 31, the two opposite movements are compensated for, so that the roller doctor blade 302 - depending on a suitably chosen curvature of the curve K - can be held in a targeted position in its central position above the magnet device 6.
  • the offset of the pressure line 36 in the direction of travel L that has already been achieved by the pivoting movement is increased.
  • the holding element 33 is firmly connected to the apex line of the support bar 38.
  • the swivel mount 32 of the doctor element 31 is carried out on the holding element 33 by means of a hinge joint 321.
  • a material-elastic joint is provided, and in FIGS. 4, 8 and 9, clamping plug connections 323 are formed.
  • a connecting element 330 is provided, which is detachably inserted into a clamping shell of the holding element 33.
  • Connection elements 330 can advantageously also be arranged on other parts of the profile strip in order to carry out the pivoting of their choice.
  • a recess 37 is formed on the profile bar in the region of the rear side of the coating bar with regard to a very advantageous mobility or elasticity of the blade of the doctor blade 301 mounted in the profile bar 31.
  • a hydraulically pressed doctor element 30 is shown.
  • an element 39 is provided with a pressure medium P and provided with an elastic wall along the doctor blade length, which depending on the degree of exposure presses the doctor blade 301 against the stencil 7 or the web 4.
  • the doctor device according to the invention is not limited to the arrangement shown in FIGS. 1 to 9 with the application surface 4 lying horizontally. Particularly when the doctor blade is pressed magnetically, it can be achieved very advantageously with the doctor device according to the invention that the pivotable doctor element is arranged and aligned with respect to a vertical application surface or an application surface inclined at any angle.
