Definitions

  • the invention relates to a doctor blade device for applying application material such as foamable substances of different viscosities, coating materials, lacquers, adhesives, pastes or the like. on a substrate like a web, wherein the squeegee device is designed as a carrier body which comprises a magnet device arranged in its longitudinal direction, with which a doctor element extending in the longitudinal direction of the carrier body made of magnetizable material is held in a receptacle by magnetic force of the magnet device on the squeegee side of the carrier body.
  • a squeegee device is used in machines for flat stencil printing, for round stencil applications and / or devices for stencilless full-area applications, the application width or the doctor blade extension being in particular several meters.
  • sample applications printing
  • full-surface applications e.g. impregnation, coating, dyeing, painting
  • a squeegee used in each case and / or a squeegee device comprising it are of crucial importance with regard to the operating and application options of an application device and with regard to the substance application result.
  • a doctoring device for doctoring coated web material is known.
  • a stripping device which is arranged downstream of an application roller, comprises U-shaped magnets on which pole strips converging to form a seat receptacle for a rotatable doctor rod are placed. There is non-magnetizable material between the pole bars.
  • the pole strips which are connected by screws, must be formed with pole strip sections in a special adaptation to the magnets and to seat receiving parts in order to close a magnetic circuit via the doctor rod.
  • the doctor rod must also be specially adapted to the seat holder. Due to the arrangement of the rotatable doctor rod in the male staff seat, special measures must be taken to exchange the same rotatable doctor rods.
  • Squeegee devices are also known (DE-AS 1 135 856), in which a magnetizable squeegee can be magnetically pressed in the direction of a magnetic bar which extends longitudinally with the squeegee and is arranged below the substrate path.
  • a magnetizable squeegee can be magnetically pressed in the direction of a magnetic bar which extends longitudinally with the squeegee and is arranged below the substrate path.
  • the magnetizable mass of the doctor blade or a supporting part connected to it in one piece that cannot be detached must be provided in accordance with the magnitude of the desired magnetic contact force.
  • the usability of the known doctoring devices remains unsatisfactory, since they must be designed and provided for each special application.
  • a squeegee that can be magnetically pressed onto a separately arranged profile strip must be kept available in a specially adapted manner with the strip and must be handled separately in the form of several individual components.
  • a magnetically contactable doctor blade in the known devices for relatively large contact forces is correspondingly massive and therefore dimensioned as a function of the contact pressure. Due to their inherent rigidity and the resulting undesirable curvature, such massive doctor blades are not particularly suitable in devices with an application width of more than several meters. They require relatively large magnetic or mechanical contact forces, which are associated with a correspondingly large amount of energy. Bearings of the known doctor devices often lead to disadvantageous tilting of the doctor. Relatively thin, long doctor blades such as sheet doctor blades, roller doctor blades or circular doctor blades are very sensitive elements which can be damaged in particular by bending, so that their individual handling is very critical.
  • the invention has for its object a particularly simple and compact, easy to handle and to provide a universally usable squeegee device which should be usable as a handling unit with a desired coating profile, the coating profiles being able to be arranged without tilting and in particular being able to be used or handled independently of magnetic contact pressure and protected against damage.
  • the support body comprises a tubular jacket body surrounding the magnetic device, which has a slot or gap in the longitudinal direction of the support body on the doctor side for receiving the doctor element.
  • the magnetic device is embedded in the jacket body of the carrier body, the jacket body being provided in the longitudinal direction of the carrier body on the doctor side with a slot or gap with regard to quick and easy use, interchangeability and / or positionability of the doctor element.
  • a recess is formed with the slot or gap, through which the squeegee engages under magnetic contact against the magnetic device.
  • the support body and each doctor blade integrated in this form a uniform, one-piece, quasi-one-piece doctor unit component, which is relatively compact and can be handled easily without damaging the doctor blade.
  • Carrier body and doctor blade can be installed together in a printing device, in particular in the relatively narrow space in a circular stencil or removed from it and also cleaned as a unit.
  • the squeegee device is particularly advantageous for handling rod profile squeegees of small diameter and long length, since the squeegee is held on the support body while avoiding any risk of bending and is handled together with it.
  • the support body comprising the magnetic device is used to press the entire doctor unit.
  • the magnet device holding the squeegee in Another function for the magnetic pressure of the assembly in the direction of a substrate web can be used.
  • the magnetic device can be magnetically attracted by a magnetic bar arranged underneath a substrate web and extending in the application width.
  • the doctor blade unit as such can already be pressed against a magnetizable counter body such as a steel surface, for example in the form of a printing table or a substrate guide roller.
  • the doctor blade device according to the invention is universally suitable for a large number of uses, for example for applications with or without a stencil and / or for applications on substrate webs guided at any angle.
  • the support body comprises a sheathing of magnetizable or magnetically neutral material that completely surrounds the magnetic device over its circumference.
  • a magnetizable sheathing can be arranged to additionally press the squeegee against a magnetic bar.
  • a special design of the jacket body consists in forming on its outer wall a profile surface facing the space of the substance to be applied. This is located directly in front of the doctor blade in order to effect a metering of the substance to be applied and / or a doctor blade.
  • the casing and casing body so as to be displaceable relative to one another in the longitudinal direction of the support body. It is thus possible to bring the magnet device with its poles into a desired position in relation to the poles of a magnetic bar.
  • Such adjustments can also be made particularly advantageously by the fact that the magnet device is arranged in the casing and / or in the casing body so as to be displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the support body.
  • At least the sheathing, against which the squeegee is attracted by magnetic force consists of resilient material.
  • a special embodiment of the doctor device according to the invention is that the doctor blade in the form of a roller doctor is held freely rotatable in the recess.
  • a sliding layer or a sliding coating is arranged between the magnetic device and the squeegee.
  • the walls of the receptacle prefferably formed at a close spacing, so that the roller doctor blade is mounted in the receptacle with relatively great mobility transversely to its extension.
  • the doctor blade is rotatably guided against one of the walls and / or the sliding surface.
  • a doctor blade in a doctor blade device the doctor blade side of which is arranged at a small but fixed distance from an opposing system such as a magnetic bar, can also be torn from the magnetic device or the sliding coating by the magnetic force of the magnetic bar during the doctor blade operation, so that it is particularly easy to rotate in the receptacle.
  • the roller doctor When the magnetic bar is demagnetized, the roller doctor then jumps into its receiving position on the support body and can be handled together with it.
  • the doctor element can be formed on the magnet device together with at least one rod of magnetizable material extending in the longitudinal direction of the support body.
  • the rod is arranged between a doctor blade and the magnetic device.
  • Such a rod is expediently provided in order to form a pressing part with which the doctor blade can be pressed in the direction of a system generating magnetic force.
  • the magnet device is arranged along the longitudinal axis of the support body
  • Permanent magnet assembly includes. This is particularly simple with permanent magnets arranged next to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the body. A particularly favorable spatial arrangement of the permanent magnets is achieved in that spacers, preferably of the same length, made of magnetizable or non-magnetizable material are arranged between adjacent permanent magnets. In order to obtain a magnetic device which can be handled as a unit but is elastic over the application width, it is provided that the permanent magnets are firmly connected to each adjacent spacer, for example by gluing, and the spacers consist of flexible material.
  • the support body As a pressure element for the doctor element acting under gravity, it is provided that at least parts of the support body consist of a material with a large specific weight.
  • the support body of the squeegee device can be held so as to be movable with any holders in an application device or printing machine, in particular in the direction of the substrate web. It is particularly expedient that the support body can be pivoted by means of a mechanical and / or material-elastic joint part arranged on it. With a ball bearing arranged centrally on the length of the squeegee device on the support body, the squeegee device can advantageously be pivoted about all spatial directions in order to be able to freely adapt or press the working edge of a squeegee element onto the substrate web or a template.
  • the doctoring devices 1 shown in the figures are parts of an application device or printing machine, not shown, and are held in bearings of such devices, also not shown.
  • Each squeegee device 1 is provided with a working or squeegee edge 44 of a squeegee element 4 arranged on the squeegee device for acting on a substrate 5 such as a substrate web over the length L (application width) of the squeegee device.
  • a substance 7 is applied to the substrate 5 by a relative movement of these elements to the substrate 5, if necessary by means of a pattern template (not shown).
  • the substrate 5 is guided or held on a system 6.
  • a magnetic bar 61 extending over the application width can be arranged on the system 6, said magnetic bar 61 comprising a magnetic device 3 and / or magnetizable parts 23 of the doctor device 1 including the magnetizable doctor element 4 magnetically detected.
  • Such applications of the doctor device 1 are shown in FIG. 3 and in the case of the arrangement of a magnetic bar 61 in FIG. 4. It can be particularly advantageous that only the magnetic device 3 generating a magnetic force of a doctor blade device 1 works against a magnetizable system 6 such as a steel table or a steel roller.
  • the application device comprises only the supporting body magnetic device 3 as a magnetic force source, which magnetically detects the system without arranging an additional magnetic force source, such as a magnetic bar provided under the substrate path, and causes a relative pressure thereof against the doctor element 4.
  • a magnetic force source such as a magnetic bar provided under the substrate path

  • a doctor element 4 made of magnetizable material is inserted, which is magnetically attracted by the magnet device 3, so that it is held under magnetic force against the inner jacket 23, which may also consist of magnetizable material.
  • the doctor element 4 is designed as a doctor blade with a wedge-shaped working edge 44.
  • the doctor blade 4 is pressed magnetically against the web 5, the magnetic force of an electro-magnetic bar 61 and the magnetic force of the magnetic device 3 interact collectively by mutual attraction of the two magnetic force sources.
