Definitions

  • the invention relates to a container assembly for pallets, comprising a foldable container made of corrugated cardboard, cardboard or similar material with bottom flaps which enclose an opening and a connecting element for producing a releasable connection between a pallet and the foldable container, the connecting element made of corrugated cardboard,
  • cardboard or similar material comprises at least one first surface part that can be fastened to the surface of the pallet and a second surface part that can be folded against it, penetrating through the opening, and the first and second surface parts are folded from a blank, the outer and inner dimensions of half the container base surface correspond to two fold lines which run essentially at a distance from one another which correspond to the thickness of the container bottom and, when folded, cover the bottom flaps of one container half in a sandwich-like manner from below and above.
  • a container assembly of the type mentioned (GB-A-2 150 533) comprises two connecting elements which are fastened on the pallet with the aid of a first, lower surface part and serve to fix the container with the aid of its bottom flaps.
  • These connecting elements articulated via a double folding line on the first surface part, have a central second surface part, on which in turn wing parts are articulated laterally, separated from the first surface part by cuts.
  • the second surface part is inserted into the bottom of the container with folded wing parts via a rectangular recess arranged therein, whereupon the wing parts are unfolded and overlap the bottom flaps of the container.
  • a plate-shaped connecting element for the manufacture of another container assembly for pallet, a plate-shaped connecting element is known (DE-OS 27 09 337, DE-OS 31 04 230), which has a part to be fastened on the base, ie the pallet, in the form of a first base section and two others , has hinged parts hinged to the first part, which are adjustable between two end positions and, in their first end position, allow the container body to be put on.
  • the connecting element is fastened in the upright position of the foldable parts with fastening means on the top of the pallet, inserted into the interior of the container via a bottom cutout and by folding the foldable parts down from above against a second, formed by narrow edge webs bottom portion of the container, which clamps the latter against the base.
  • a major disadvantage of most known pallet-container composite arrangements is the fact that they can essentially only be realized on one type of pallet, in particular a wooden or plastic pallet, and that they can be used sensibly with more and more single-use corrugated cardboard pallets at most with great difficulty, if at all.
  • container damage in the edge region is easy, particularly at higher stacking compression pressures.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a container composite for pallets which is simple and economical to produce, the container consisting of corrugated cardboard, cardboard or similar foldable material, the container composite having a universal use for a wide variety of pallet shapes and base materials such as wood, Pressed wood, plastic, corrugated cardboard, etc., as well as improved overall load ratios with high theft security can be achieved.
  • each essentially half-folded sheet two preferably substantially congruent, each essentially half-folded sheets are provided, the first surface parts of which are fastened to the pallet with the second surface parts with the second surface parts lying opposite one another and the second, folded-up surface parts by very narrow slits in the transverse bottom flaps can be guided into the interior of the container in order to then be folded down and so clamp the bottom flaps of the container on the pallet so that they do not require any special fastening.
  • These bottom flaps can be made quite narrow, ie as "stub flaps", but they can also take up the entire bottom of the container.
  • the container assembly according to the invention ensures a two-layer container bottom, in the second case even together with the bottom flaps, a three-layer bottom.
  • the slots need practically only have a width corresponding to twice the material thickness of the connecting elements, so that they have only an insignificant effect on the security against theft.
  • such a container composite enables precise alignment and centering effect of the container on the pallet.
  • the two second surface parts in the composite essentially correspond to the inside dimensions of the container and thus allow a very exact centering of the container on the pallet, while at the same time achieving a flat floor surface in contrast to conventional floor flap arrangements, which is suitable for certain, e.g. with regard to Stability of their contour sensitive goods is advantageous.
  • the connecting elements can first be fastened on the pallet on their own, ie no intervention through the erected container is necessary to attach the last fastening elements.
  • a very significant advantage is the universal use of such connecting elements for all pallet shapes and types that are considered today, such as corrugated cardboard, wood, pressed wood and plastic pallets, but also pallets of any other consistency, because the attachment options for the connecting elements are freely variable. In other words, depending on the structure of the surface of the pallet, any type of stopper, clamps, clamping elements or the like can be in the edge area or other punching areas.
  • the connecting elements are also suitable for the production of a composite of containers with pallets if the containers have a very rectangular shape other than a square, that is to say, for example, they are octahedral or have other polygonal shapes. You will only design the contours of the second surface part according to the inner shape of the container, i.e.
  • the two surface parts are two to one another fold lines which run essentially at a distance corresponding to the thickness of the container base and which define a narrow strip which forms the fold between them. This makes assembly easier and the bottom flaps of the container can be neatly encased in the erected state.
  • the length of the narrow strip running between the two fold lines is preferably equal to the length of the second surface part, so that the narrow strip lies against the container wall from the inside.
  • the second surface part may only take up a part of the transverse extent of the container, it is particularly advantageous if the area of the blank substantially corresponds to the surface of a pallet with which the connecting element can be used and the second surface part and the folding area or the folding strip jump inwards by the thickness of the container material in relation to the first flat part. This creates a firm, practically double container bottom, so that a very firm bond results.
  • the increased material expenditure can be compensated for at least in part by the already mentioned design of the bottom flaps arranged on the container side walls as pure stub flaps.
  • the container assembly according to the invention for pallets enables universal use for a wide variety of container shapes.
  • a number of holes for receiving fastening elements can advantageously be provided in the region of the free edge of the first surface part opposite the folding edge. These holes are preferred in the for the respective container shapes and pallet structures possible distances are provided, ie a grid of holes for standard container types is possible. These holes do not interfere with full-surface gluing, for example when used on corrugated cardboard pallets, but they may even serve as centering for the connecting elements to be glued on, for example when assembling on machines.
  • At least two punched-outs in the form of elongated, double-sided punched-out tongues which can be folded out of the surface of the second flat part, can expediently be provided in the region of the free edge of the second flat part opposite the folding edge are. This eliminates the need for additional holding elements, since the upstanding second surface parts can be fastened by means of these tongues.
  • a particularly effective, simple fastening is obtained if, according to another development of the invention, a first punched-out shape as a rectangular tongue and a second, spaced-apart punched-out shape as in its area located on the other edge of the surface area is preferably conically widened, with its remaining punched-out length with respect to its width first punching of corresponding locking tabs is formed.
  • the punched holes provided in the second surface parts are each assigned to one another in pairs in such a way that a locking tab in the cutout formed by a tongue can be easily releasably locked when the composite is produced.
  • the pallet can be a corrugated cardboard pallet, in which case the first surface parts are preferably glued to the pallet surface over a large area are. If, on the other hand, the pallet is a wooden, pressed wood or plastic pallet, the first surface parts are connected to it by fastening plugs which are known per se and pass through the holes. In this case, as also indicated, the holes are provided in the first surface parts according to a fastening element pattern specified for different types of pallets.
  • Fig. 1 shows the production of a composite between a pallet 1, here in the form of a disposable pallet made of corrugated cardboard, and a corrugated cardboard folding container 2, using two constructed according to the invention and explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 2 to 7 Connecting elements 3.
  • the pallet is of such a customary construction, with a corrugated cardboard pallet 1a, a plastic or pressed wood pallet 1b being used for the manufacture of the composite according to the invention, as shown in FIGS. 8 to 10 , but also a normal wooden pallet 1c or any other pallet structure comes into consideration.
  • the container 2 is a conventional folding box with bottom flaps 21 and 22, a slot 23 being located between a pair of opposing bottom flaps, here in the form of transverse wall bottom flaps 21, through which the connecting elements 3 are guided in the manner to be described.
  • the connecting element 3 is formed from a substantially flat-rectangular blank 30 made of single-layer corrugated cardboard, but also similar other foldable material such as solid cardboard with corresponding properties, laminated corrugated cardboard or cardboard material, multi-layer corrugated cardboard or the like, depending on the application requirements , comes into consideration.
  • This cut can be a stamped part which can be produced on conventional corrugated cardboard production plants, although there are also no restrictions with regard to production here.
  • the blank 30 comprises, in its width extension B which can be seen in FIG. 4, a first and a second surface part 31 or 32 in one piece and foldable against one another next to one another.
  • the first surface part 31 corresponds to the outer length of the container 2 and, at least in this case, also the length of the pallet 1.
  • the width B 31 of the first surface part 31 corresponds at least to the distance from the slot 23 to the outer edge of the container, in the present exemplary embodiment with a centrally arranged slot 23, that is to say essentially half the container -External width.
  • the length of the second surface part 32 is reduced in relation to the total length L and thus offset from the first surface part 31 in such a way that it essentially corresponds to the inner length dimension of the container 2.
  • the width B 32 of the second surface part 32 is somewhat smaller than the width B 31 of the first surface part 31 and corresponds to the distance from the slot 23 to the inner wall of the container, in this case approximately half the inner width of the container.
  • the two surface parts 31, 32 can be folded against one another by a first and a second folding line 34 or 35. Between these two fold lines 34, 35, a fold strip 33 running in the longitudinal direction is determined. Its width is provided essentially in accordance with the material thickness of the container 2 to be fastened, that is to say the material thickness of the bottom flaps 21. In order to enable the second flat part 32 to be unfolded and folded over in the manner shown in FIGS.
  • a short cut 38 is made in the container part 31 as an extension of the outer edge of the second flat part 32 up to the first Fold line 34 is provided, which in turn ends at this incision 38, that is, is not carried out to the outer edge of the first flat part 31.
  • the blank 30 can thus be folded in the manner shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, so that the second surface part 32 comes into a substantially parallel position to the first surface part 31, the distance between the two being essentially due to the folding strip or fold 33 is determined and the material thickness of the container bottom flaps 21, 22 corresponds.
  • Two such folded blanks are placed against each other in mirror image in the manner shown in FIGS. 5 to 7. This results in the basic arrangement shown in FIG. 1, the two butt abutting surface parts 31 fully covering the undersurface of the pallet 1 of the container 2 and, if the dimensions of the container 2 essentially correspond to the surface of the pallet, cover the latter.
  • the two second surface parts 32 are shown folded vertically.
  • the container 2 can be placed by surrounding the upright second surface parts 32 with the aid of the slot 23, so that the bottom flaps 21 on the lie on the first surface parts, whereupon the container is then folded down and the free transverse wall bottom flaps 21 are likewise brought into a position comprising the second surface parts 32 after the longitudinal wall bottom flaps 22 have been folded in beforehand.
  • the container 2 is then finally locked on the pallet by folding the second surface parts 32 from the vertical position in FIG. 1 into a horizontal position parallel to the first surface parts 31. Since the width B 32 of the second surface parts 32 essentially corresponds to the internal dimensions of the container corresponds, the second surface parts 32 lie snugly against the inner wall of the container 2, so that it is held in a stable position and is centered.
  • the - already indicated - fastening of the first surface parts 31 on the pallet surface for fixing the mounting position of FIG. 1 can be done in different ways. If a corrugated cardboard pallet 1a is used as in FIG. 8, then a full-surface gluing with the pallet surface will be provided, while the one with a plastic or press material pallet 1b (FIG. 9) or a wooden pallet 1c (FIG. 10) Fixing expediently carried out with the aid of plugs which can be inserted into corresponding holes 311, 312 (see FIG. 2) provided for this purpose. The pattern of these holes is based entirely on the fastening patterns of conventional pallets and can be selected accordingly. It is advisable to provide different mounting hole patterns for different types of pallets. These holes do not interfere with gluing in the case of corrugated cardboard pallets 1a.
  • the second surface parts are provided with first and second punched-out areas 36 and 37 in the area of their free longitudinal edge recognizes this in detail in FIG. 3.
  • the first punched-out 36 is a narrow, parallel folding strip that can be pushed out, while the second punched-out 37 has a conical (FIG. 2) or trapezoidal (FIG.
  • Width corresponds to the first punched-out 36, so that these punched-outs with a mirror-image arrangement of two connecting elements 3 can be pressed into one another on a pallet in such a way that the widened head part of the second punched-out 37 engages through the first punched-out 36 and is easily detachably locked behind in the pressed-in first punched-out 36 by its parallel boundary edges.
  • This locking can also be released again easily if the two second surface parts are pressed down in the direction indicated by the arrows in FIGS. 8 to 10 in order to overlap the bottom flaps 21 and 22 of the container 2 and thus fix the container on the pallet 1.
  • bottom flaps 21 and 22 of the container 2 can be designed as stub flaps as long as they ensure a sufficient support of the second surface parts 32 from above and thus ensure that the container is fixed relative to the pallet.
  • the surface area of the second surface parts 32 is made smaller if very large bottom flaps are provided on the container.
  • the second surface parts 32 should bear against the container walls in order to ensure sufficient centering and to prevent the container from shifting on the pallet when loaded.
  • the second surface parts 32 are pressed firmly against the pallet, so that the container 2 is centered and immovably stuck on the pallet, while the first surface parts, in addition to their function of fastening on the pallet surface, also serve as a buffer between the easily deformable container edge and a substantially resistant pallet surface.
