Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical switch according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such an electrical switch is known from FR-A-1 402 906.
- the switch described therein has a seal for water sealing between a base part and the subsequent housing, and the base is welded or glued to the housing.
- the assembly direction is to be understood as the direction in which the base can be inserted into the assembly opening for assembly.
- the dependent claims 2 to 12 each characterize advantageous forms of training thereof.
- both the switch housing and the base can be simply designed components and an O-ring can be used as a sealing element, which is a conventional element of sealing technology.
- the switching mechanism can be easily mounted outside the housing, which not only simplifies production, but also accelerates it and thus makes it cheaper.
- the connection elements of the switch are also protected against moisture by the edge of the housing that extends freely beyond the base.
- the base carrying the O-ring is pushed into the housing until the sealing ring arrives at the shoulder of the inner surface of the housing and is compressed there to a sufficient extent.
- the relative position between base and housing must be secured by a suitable measure so that the sealing ring does not relax and the sealing effect can be lost.
- the sealing ring engage in a circumferential outer groove or at least in mutually opposite undercuts or the like of the base. This secures the position of the sealing ring on the base before assembly and at the same time ensures proper seating of the sealing ring on the housing sealing surface.
- a particularly preferred variant of the invention is characterized by at least one, but preferably two wedge-shaped latching elements on two opposite surfaces of the base, each of which can be snapped into a window-like recess or a breakthrough of the respectively associated resiliently evacuable housing wall.
- the latching elements can also be resilient instead of the wall.
- the wedge-shaped elements are arranged so that the wedge tip leads ahead during assembly. Due to the resilient design of the housing wall, each latching element can be used at the end of the insertion movement, i.e. when the sealing ring is sufficiently tensioned enter its window-like recess and thereby effect the locking of the base with the housing in at least two places.
- Essential elements of the switch according to the invention are the base 1 with the switching mechanism 2 and the switch housing 3.
- the latter is provided with a mounting opening 4 into which the base 1 with the switching mechanism 2 is pushed in the direction of the arrow 5.
- the base 1 closes the assembly opening 4 to the outside, and a good seal is already achieved.
- the switch housing 3 has an essentially cup-shaped shape, the inner contour being stepped twice.
- the base 1 can be brought into contact with the first paragraph, but this is not absolutely necessary.
- a sealing element 8 bears against the second paragraph, which is held on the base 1 and is pressed by this in the final assembly position against the second paragraph.
- This sealing element is preferably an O-ring. It ensures that the housing interior 9 accommodating the switching mechanism 2 is watertightly sealed from the outside.
- the sealing ring 8 is spring-locked into a circumferential groove on the inside of the base 1 or, as in the exemplary embodiment, two mutually opposite, groove-like undercuts 10 and 11. The latter are located on the inner end of the base 1 in the direction of assembly, which is also designed as a centering element 12.
- a positive connection is provided in addition to the non-positive connection or instead of the non-positive connection between base 1 and housing 3.
- the mutually opposite housing walls 13 and 14 are provided with at least one, but preferably two window-like recesses 15 at the same height and equidistant from the housing edge.
- the wall 13 In order to enable this latching, the wall 13 must be able to deflect resiliently in the direction of the arrow 18. The same applies analogously to the opposite wall 14, which must dodge from right to left.
- each recess is arranged in front of a recess 15 and its height increases from the outside inwards steadily. It ends at the window-like recess 15 or shortly before.
- the actuator 21 of the switch is designed as a plunger and can be pressed in in the direction of arrow 22.
- the switch housing still needs a cross-section corresponding to the plunger Tappet guide 23.
- the latter is sealed off from the switch housing 3 by a sleeve 24. It is resilient to be able to take part in the tappet movement.
- Both ends of the cuff are thickened by a bead.
- One cuff end 25 engages with its bead in an annular groove 26 at the outer end of the tappet.
- the other cuff end 27 projects into a housing groove 28 which is open at the edge in the longitudinal direction of the tappet.
- the actuating member 21 in the exemplary embodiment is not depressed directly by hand, but with the aid of a one-armed lever 29 which is pivotably mounted on the switch housing.
- the elastic property of the sleeve 24 can additionally be used in the sense of a return spring.
- the inner end of the actuating member 21 designed as a plunger protrudes slightly into the interior of the housing.
- a slide bar 31 which is wedge-shaped at its outward end. Its height corresponds approximately to the amount by which the plunger end 30 projects into the housing interior 9.
- a spring-elastic, tongue-like holding element 32 slides simultaneously over the two wedge-shaped Ends of the slide bars 31 and is thereby lifted over the inner plunger end 31. It is supported in the end position on this tappet end and / or the thicker ends of the two slide rails.
- the end position can be seen in Fig. 1.
- the holding element 32 belongs to the switching mechanism 2. Its inner end is bent in a U-shape.
- the contact arm 33 carries the movable contact (s) 37, which interact with the fixed contacts 38 and 39.
- the switch is a changeover switch.
- Each of the two fixed contacts can be replaced by a stop that only takes on a mechanical but no electrical function.
- the switch is provided with connecting elements 40 and 41 which pass through the base 1, their inner ends carrying the fixed contacts 38 and 39, respectively.
- the switch housing 3 is dimensioned such that the edge drawn freely beyond the base 1 surrounds these connection elements 40 and 41 and thereby protects them.
- the switch housing 2 is further provided with a test bore 42.
- a test bore 42 In the exemplary embodiment, it is somewhat expanded towards the outside and narrowed at its inner end. The tightness of the connection between the base 1 and check the switch housing 3. After this test, the bore 42 is closed with the aid of a ball 43, which is pressed into the central part of the test bore 42. The resilient property of the housing material is sufficient for secure sealing at this point. Otherwise, the test bore 42 is located centrally on a tubular extension 44 of the switch housing 3.
