- the pendulum periodically makes audible beats.
- the bell is only fired by the bell hammer on the first beat of the respective measure (e.g. every third or fourth beat) sounded so that the user of the metronome can clearly recognize the first beat of the time signature in question. It is important to synchronize the sound of the bell with the beat in question.
- the climbing wheel and a bell roller consisting of four individual gears are pressed together in a torque-proof manner by a screw nut. If the pitch wheel and bell roller are to be adjusted relative to each other in order to synchronize the clock pulse with the bell stroke, the screw nut must first be loosened and tightened again after the setting has been made. The relative adjustment between the climbing wheel and bell roller is carried out continuously by trained personnel.
