Definitions

  • the invention relates to an image holder according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such an image holder is known from US Pat. No. 3,305,205. 25 to 28a show a picture holder made of cardboard, the support of which is articulated on the rear of the picture holder by means of a four-bar support.
  • the four-bar linkage includes a flap, a support and a support bracket.
  • the support and the rollover flap form a toggle lock, the joint of which is held in contact with the back of the picture holder by the restoring force of the support holder.
  • Combination picture holders are also known which are suitable both for setting up and for hanging on a wall. With these holders, the support does not reach the edge of the picture holder in its rest position. The reaching of the support up to the edge of the picture holder is often prevented by a frame made of wood or the like being fitted around the picture holder. If the folded-up support reached up to the edge of the picture holder, the support would lie between the frame and the wall when the picture holder was suspended, whereby on the one hand the picture holder would not protrude evenly from the wall and on the other hand the support would be visible. Since both are undesirable, the choice of frames for such picture holders was previously limited to certain frame thicknesses which could not be exceeded, since otherwise the picture holder set up would be too inclined or too insecure.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of improving an image holder of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it also assumes a secure stand in the erected state without an excessive inclination when the image holder is surrounded by a frame.
  • the rest is now moved so far to the center of the rear wall of the picture holder that it has completely disappeared behind any frame of the picture holder.
  • the support In the support position, however, the support is moved so far towards the edge of the picture holder that the support can be spread wide so that the picture holder can assume a safe but also upright position.
  • This solution also makes it possible to make the supports relatively short without compromising the stability of the picture holder.
  • the support of the picture holder is bistable, i.e.
  • the support and thus the four-bar support is pivoted flat against the rear wall of the picture holder, while the other stable position is the support position in which the weight of the Picture holder ensures that the support holds the flap in a position in which it lies folded over by 180 ° with respect to the rest position of the support on the base side of the four-bar support. Since an obtuse angle is formed between the base side and the support, that is to say also between the flap and the support, part of the stability transmitted by the support causes the flap to be pressed against the base side in this position. Since a recess is provided in the support, in which the support holder is arranged in the rest position, the support can be placed particularly flat against the rear wall.
  • a preferred embodiment provides that the side of the four-bar carrier formed by the support is shorter than the base side.
  • the spreading angle of the support in the support position is approximately 45 ° . This spreading angle is achieved by a special selection of the aspect ratios of the individual sides of the four-bar support.
  • the sides of the four-bar linkage are plate-shaped, the plate planes parallel to the rest position. Rear wall of the picture holder are arranged. This allows the support and four-bar linkage to be pivoted particularly flat against the rear wall of the picture holder.
  • the support force already causes the support to be held stably in the support position, it is also advantageous if at least one joint of the four-bar support is designed to be bistable. It is thereby achieved that the support remains in the support position even when the picture holder is carried from one place to another and set up again there.
  • the joint which connects the support holder to the base side is bistable.
  • An advantageous possibility of making this joint bistable is to attach a spring which presses the support holder into the rest position on the joint between the base side and the support holder.
  • This spring causes the support to be pivoted into the support position when the flap has exceeded a position in which it is aligned with the support.
  • the spring causes the support to fold back onto the rear wall of the picture holder when the flap is only folded over so far that it is not yet aligned with the support.
  • the spring is designed as a leaf spring pressing against an articulated edge of the support holder.
  • the spring can then be kept relatively small.
  • the leaf spring is fastened between the base and the rear wall of the picture holder and has a tongue protruding from the rear wall, which also presses in the rest position against the hinge edge of the support holder, which hinge edge is formed approximately at right angles to the support holder plane. That has the Advantage that the spring can be accommodated on the one hand in a very space-saving manner and on the other hand is located outside the four-bar support, so that the support can be folded completely onto the base of the four-bar support. While the hinge edge is formed approximately at a right angle to the level of the support bracket, i.e.
  • the tongue of the leaf spring is bent by more than 90 ° , so that the tongue still presses against the hinge edge when the support is pressed is at rest.
  • the support is held firmly in the rest position and can only be transferred from this to the support position using a desired force.
  • the action of the leaf spring supports the support force transmitted by the support by exerting a torque on the support holder, which apparently rotates it towards the base of the four-bar support.
  • the support can be attached to the picture holder in a particularly space-saving manner if the base side of the four-bar support is formed by the rear wall itself.
  • a releasable joint is attached between the support holder and the support. This not only facilitates the manufacture of the support and the four-bar support, but also particularly facilitates the attachment of the four-bar support to the rear wall of the picture holder, since the base side is freely accessible for attachment. Only when the base side is attached is the support bracket connected to the support via the releasable joint.
  • FIG. 4 a rectangular picture holder 1 with surrounding frame 2 is shown.
  • a support 4 is articulated on the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1, which can be pivoted from a swung-in rest position (see FIG. 4) into a spread-out support position (see FIG. 3) in which the support is held by a support holder 5.
  • the support 4 is connected to the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1 via a four-bar support 6.
  • the support 4 forms one side of the four-bar support 6.
  • the opposite side of the four-bar support 6 is designed as the base side 7 and is fastened to the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1.
  • the support 4 is connected approximately in its center via the support holder 5 to the lower end of the base side 7. There is a joint 8 between the support 4 and the support holder 5, while a further joint 9 is arranged between the support holder 5 and the base side 7.
  • the support 4 is also articulated to the upper end of the base 7 at its upper end via a flap 10.
  • a support joint 11 is attached between the rollover flap 10 and the support 4, while the rollover flap 10 itself is connected to the base side 7 by means of a rollover joint 12.
  • the mobility of the joints 8, 9, 11 and 12 is such that in the rest position (cf. FIG. 4) the base side 7 and the flap 10 are approximately in one plane parallel to the rear wall 3 of the picture holder.
  • the support 4 and the support holder 5 also lie in one plane and also parallel to the rear wall 3.
  • the rollover tab 12 rests on the base side 7, so that the remaining part of the base side 7, the support bracket 5 and the part of the support 4 belonging to the four-bar support 6 form a triangle.
  • the sum of the lengths of the base side 7 and the flap 12 must be equal to the sum of the lengths of the support bracket 5 and the part of the support 4 belonging to the four-bar support 6.
  • the side of the four-bar support 6 formed by the support 4 is shorter than the base side 7. As a result, the flap 10 automatically becomes shorter than the support bracket 5.
  • the spreading angle a that is the angle between the support 4 and the base side 7 in the supporting position (cf. FIG. 3), is 45 ° .
  • the choice of the length of the rollover flap 10 essentially depends on the frame width, since the dimension of the outward sliding of the support 4 can be determined by the length of the rollover flap 10.
  • the sides of the four-bar support 6, ie the support 4, the support holder 5, the base side 7 and the flap 10 are plate-shaped, the plate planes being arranged parallel to the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1 in the rest position are.
  • a recess 13 is provided in the support 4, in which the support holder 5 is arranged in the rest position (vgi.Fig.2).
  • the joint 9 between the support holder 5 and the base side 7 is designed as a bistable joint in that a spring 14 tries to press the support holder 5 into the rest position.
  • the spring 14 is designed as a leaf spring and presses with a tongue 15 against the edge of the support holder 5 adjoining the joint 9.
  • the main part of the spring 14 is arranged and fastened between the rear wall 3 and the base side 7 of the four-bar carrier 6.
  • the hinge edge of the support bracket 5, which is referred to below with the reference number 16 is approximately at right angles to the supports holder level trained. That is, in the rest position of the support 4, the hinge edge 16 is oriented approximately at right angles to the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1.
  • the tongue 15 protruding from the spring 14, on the other hand, is bent through more than 90 ° , so that even in the rest position of the support 4 it still presses against the joint edge 16 of the support holder 5.
  • the tongue 15 of the spring 14 has a lever path available for applying the torque to the support holder 5, which lever path corresponds approximately to the plate thickness of the support holder 5. With only very small spring travel, the spring 14 is able to fix the support 4 with sufficient force both in the support position and in the rest position.
  • the base side 7 can also be part of the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1.
  • the spring 14 is then attached to the side of the rear wall 3 facing the image.
  • the hinge 8 between the support bracket 5 and the support 4 can be detachable, for example in the form of a plug connection, so that the support 4 and the four-bar support 6 take on a band-shaped appearance and can accordingly be produced in one piece.
  • the support 4 and the four-bar support 6 consist in the illustrated embodiment of a thermoplastic material.
  • the spring 14, which is designed as a leaf spring, can be produced from a piece of spring spring.
  • the support 4 is gripped at its lower end and pulled away from the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1 onto the lower frame. Because of the parallelogram-like design of the four-bar support 6, the support 4 stands out from the rear wall 3.
  • the support joint 11 at the upper end of the support 4 describes a circular path with a radius corresponding to the length of the rollover flap 10 around the rollover joint 12. The circular path is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 3. With this movement, the support 4 approaches the edge of the picture holder 1.
  • the support bracket 5 presses the lower part of the support 4 away from the rear wall 3, even when the upper support joint 11 again approaches the rear wall 3.
  • This sequence of movements is achieved in that the support bracket 5 is longer than the rollover flap 10.
  • the support bracket 5 first rotates to the left until the rollover flap 10 and the support 4 are aligned. Then the support joint 11 bends together with the flap 10 and the support 4 in the manner of a toggle lever 1, the support holder 5 rotating about its joint 9 to the right again during this buckling movement.
  • the support holder 5 is supported by the tongue 15 of the spring 14, which further causes the support 4 to be held in the support position shown in FIG. 3 by the action of the spring 14.
  • the folding of the support 4 can be achieved in that a force is applied to the lower end of the support 4 in the direction of the rear wall 3 of the picture holder 1.
  • the support 4 rotates slightly about the joint 8 until the support 4 and the flap 10 are aligned with one another.
  • the rollover flap 10 overlaps the rollover joint 12, since the tongue 15 of the spring 14 causes the support holder 5 to rotate to the right, as a result of which the support joint 11 buckles.
  • the bias of the spring 14 is so great that it automatically causes the rest of the movement of the support 4 and the four-bar support 6 into the rest position (vgi.Fig.4). Due to the tongue 15 of the spring 14 pressing on the joint edge 16, the support 4 is also held in the rest position.
