Definitions

  • the invention relates to a combination lock with a cast housing, a screwed-on cover, a bolt guided in the housing, a drive cam actuating the bolt, a number of tumbler disks and a resilient element which blocks the bolt when the cover is removed.
  • a combination lock has become known from US Pat. No. 4,163,376, in which the bolt is blocked by a lever which is angled several times.
  • the lever carries a bearing in the central area, which is articulated via a riveted bolt on a housing projection on the side of the bolt guide.
  • One lever arm presses against the lock cover, the other stands with a hook over a recess in the bolt in the closed position.
  • a leg spring guided on the bolt presses the lever against the lid.
  • This three-part additional device for locking bolts is not only complicated and expensive, but it also does not represent a complete protection against break-in. If the burglar is able to get the tumblers through the channel into line with some tools, it will also be easy for him succeed in pressing down the locking lever next to the tumblers in order to finally be able to pull back the bolt.
  • a locking spring is provided in the guide path of the bolt, which is guided in a slot that is perpendicular to the bolt path and to the lock cover.
  • the lock spring is released when the lock cover is removed and the lock bolt is extended. It then lies with its central area in the guideway of the bolt so that it cannot be brought back with the aid of the drive cam.
  • the lock cover is provided with a nose at the point above the spring shaft, which compresses the spring when the cover is installed.
  • the locking spring is outside the bolt track. However, if the lid is knocked off during an attempt to break open, the bolt is additionally blocked. With this lock, too, the locking spring is so far exposed that you can feel it and press it down.
  • the invention has for its object to provide an improved, inexpensive and non-trickable combination lock that resists all attempts to attack through the channel.
  • the housing in the region of the guideway of the bolt has a vertical bore at the level of the cover, that a resilient locking pin is guided in this bore, that this pin has a locking foot, that this foot is a recess of the extended bar is opposite and that the cover keeps the foot out of the recess of the bar against the force of a spring.
  • the locking pin is chosen so large that it does not protrude beyond the upper limit plane of the bolt guide channel when the spring is relaxed.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 runs along the bent line AB in FIG. 3.
  • Fig. 1 denotes the lock housing, which is preferably produced by die casting.
  • the rectangular bar 2 is mounted in the right end face of the housing 1.
  • the housing is closed by the cover 3. 4 with a bore is designated, the axis of which is perpendicular to the plane of the cover 3. This hole is partially in front of the locking surface, as shown in Fig. 3.
  • the bolt guide channel in the housing 1 is cut from the hole.
  • a cylindrical locking pin 5 is inserted into the bore, the base 5a of which rests on a helical spring 6.
  • the spring 6 is pressed down by a molded pin 3a of the cover 3.
  • the locking pin 5 has a larger in the area of the foot 5a and the head 5b and a small one in the central area diameter.
  • the latch 2 is provided with a recess 2a into which the foot 5a penetrates when the locking pin 5 moves upwards when the cover 3 is removed.
  • a predetermined breaking point is indicated by 3b, which lies in a ring above the spindle channel 9.
  • Fig. 1 shows the lock in the normal state, in which the bolt 2 can be moved as desired via the bolt cam, not shown. If the cover 3 is forcibly removed via the spindle channel, the pin 5 jumps into its locking position according to FIG. 2, so that the latch 2 is securely blocked by the foot 5a, which acts as a sperm.
  • the distance s between the borehole axis and the locking surface corresponds to the radius of the locking pin 5 in its central region.
  • This locking pin can be manufactured very cheaply as a turned part.
  • the spring 6 is also extremely inexpensive.
  • the bolt 2 is driven by the screw 8 and the monkey, not shown.
  • the tumbler disks are indicated by 10.
  • the recess 2a, the pin 3a and the bore 4 can be realized as simple geometric shapes with the lowest tool costs in the die-casting mold.
  • the wall thickness of the bolt guide channel is chosen so large that the pin 5 does not protrude beyond the upper surface 1a when the cover 3 is removed. Therefore, the pin 5 cannot be scanned or unlocked from the spindle channel 9.
  • the unlocking lock described is not only much cheaper than the known designs, but, in contrast to those, is also largely tamper-proof.
  • Fig. 4 shows a further protective measure in the cutout: At the foot of the bore 4, a hard metal ball 7 is pressed in, which is to prevent the targeted drilling out of the locking pin 5. Instead of the ball, hard metal plates can also be pressed in to save a few millimeters in height compared to a ball.
  • the combination lock described can be used with all money or valuables cabinets that have so far been equipped with locks that are not or only poorly secured. Retrofitting is also easily possible.
