Definitions

  • the present invention relates to hot glue guns for melting and discharging a meltable adhesive, with a guide channel for the adhesive to be melted and a discharge opening at one end of the guide channel and with a hot air blower for melting the adhesive, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a hot glue gun is known from FR-A-2118583.
  • hot glue guns known from practice use electrical heating devices in the form of heating cartridges which are parallel to the guide channel in the gun body. Although hot glue guns of this type work satisfactorily for many applications, in some cases it is disadvantageous that the workpiece to be glued is only heated by the glue itself. In particular in the case of a workpiece to be bonded which has a high thermal capacity and / or high thermal conductivity, the adhesive solidifies rapidly and optimal bonding is not achieved.
  • the aforementioned problem is eliminated in that a hot air blower is provided for heating the workpiece, which also melts the adhesive preheated by a conventional heating cartridge and set in a plastic state.
  • This hot glue gun thus contains two heating devices, which is correspondingly expensive.
  • there are certain limits to the working speed since the adhesive only has to be brought into the melt state by the hot air stream when working, which can lead to annoying waiting times, particularly in the case of intermittent work.
  • the invention is based on the object of designing a hot-melt glue gun of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that adhesive bonds of high strength and with increased working speed can be produced by a simple construction of the glue gun.
  • the hot glue gun combines the advantages of known types of glue gun in that, on the one hand, the adhesive is kept in an already molten state before it emerges from the gun, and, on the other hand, a hot air stream is provided for heating the workpiece.
  • a separate heating cartridge for preheating or melting the adhesive is dispensed with, the heat required for this is rather branched off from the hot air flow by means of the heat transfer device.
  • the hot air blower is releasably attached to the hot glue gun, which not only makes replacement easier in the event of a repair than with the guns known in the prior art, but rather the hot air blower can also be used, if desired, independently of the hot glue gun.
  • the hot air blower is preferably releasably attached to the outside of the hot glue gun by means of a dovetail guide.
  • a dovetail guide For a balanced weight distribution for better handling of the hot glue gun, it is favorable to arrange the dovetail groove and tongue in the end area of the hot glue gun opposite the discharge nozzle or in the central longitudinal area of the hot air blower.
  • the dovetail groove or tongue is preferably arranged on the upper side of the hot glue gun opposite the handle of the hot glue gun.
  • the dovetail guide can be designed with a width that decreases in the direction of the discharge nozzle and the end of the mouth.
  • the axes of the discharge nozzle of the guide channel and the mouth end of the hot air blower are inclined at an acute angle to one another.
  • the angle is approximately between 5 ° and 30 °.
  • the heat transfer device in the region of the mouth end of the hot air blower.
  • a particularly simple and effective heat transfer is obtained when the heat transfer device with a lamella arrangement projects into the hot air area.
  • the lamella arrangement advantageously has essentially parallel lamellae.
  • the slats can also be arranged crosswise or lattice-shaped. An arrangement of the fins such that they extend essentially in the longitudinal direction of the hot air region is particularly favorable. Of course, it is also possible to arrange the slats transversely so that they simultaneously take on the function of a baffle plate arrangement.
  • the lamella arrangement is surrounded by a sleeve element, which receives the mouth end of the hot air blower.
  • a particularly intensive heat transfer results when the heat transfer device is formed in one piece with the guide channel and / or the discharge nozzle.
  • the lamella arrangement In order to change the temperature of the adhesive in the guide channel, it is advantageous to design the lamella arrangement so that it can be swung out completely or partially from the hot air area. In this context, it is also favorable to design the entire heat transfer device or the lamella arrangement to be interchangeable.
  • the heat transfer device is preferably also designed to support the hot air blower.
  • the exemplary embodiment of a hot-melt adhesive gun 1 according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 comprises a gun housing 4 with a handle 5 for a fusible adhesive 3 for a meltable adhesive 3, and an electric hot-air blower 6.
  • a discharge nozzle 7 for the molten adhesive 3 is screwed into the free end of an end piece 8 of the guide channel 2 protruding from the gun housing 4 or otherwise detachably fastened.
  • an insert 9 which widens in the direction of its free end and through which the adhesive in the solid state is introduced in the form of an adhesive rod.
  • a ball valve 10 is arranged therein, which opens only when a certain pressure is exceeded in the direction of the free end of the discharge nozzle 7.
  • the hot air blower 6 is detachably fastened by means of a dovetail guide 11, which is only shown schematically, on the top of the gun housing 4 opposite the handle 5.
  • a dovetail guide 11 which is only shown schematically, on the top of the gun housing 4 opposite the handle 5.
  • part of the dovetail guide 11, namely the dovetail groove is formed on the end of the gun housing 4 opposite the discharge nozzle 7, while the dovetail spring is arranged on the central longitudinal region 12 of the hot air blower 6.
  • a heat transfer device 13 is integrally connected to the end piece 8 of the guide channel 2 and at the same time is designed as a support for the mouth end 14 of the hot air blower 6.
  • the guide channel 2 including the discharge nozzle 7 and the hot air blower 6 including the mouth end 14 are inclined, including an acute angle 15, approximately in the direction of their free ends.
  • the acute angle 15 is approximately 12 ° in the present exemplary embodiment.
  • the heat transfer device 13 has a lamella arrangement 16 which projects into the hot air flow emerging from the mouth end 14 of the hot air blower 6, i.e. is arranged outside the hot air blower.
  • the lamella arrangement 13 has lamellas 17 which are arranged crosswise and are surrounded by a sleeve element 18 which receives the mouth end 14 of the hot air blower 6.
  • a part of the sleeve element 18 and the mouth end 14 are designed to run like a nozzle.
  • the lamellar arrangement 16 consists of essentially parallel lamellas 19 which protrude into the hot air flow emerging from the mouth end 14.
  • the hot air blower 6 and the guide channel 2 are arranged in one plane, so that the imaginary extensions of their longitudinal axes including the acute angle intersect at an intersection.
  • the fins 17 and 19 extend in or parallel to this plane, i.e. they run in the longitudinal direction of the hot air flow.
  • the free end of the heat transfer device 13 is set back from the free end of the discharge nozzle 7.
