Definitions

  • the starting point of the invention is a device with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.
  • a strand of plastic which was applied to a glass pane using such a device, forms a spacer there, on the second adhesive side surface of which another glass pane is placed and pressed to form an insulating glass pane.
  • the strands used for this have an essentially rectangular cross section and are produced by the extrusion process.
  • the metal tape which is embedded in the strands, serves to stiffen them and is preferably corrugated in the longitudinal direction, which on the one hand favors the compressive strength transverse to the adhesive side faces and on the other hand the flexibility of the strand.
  • the moisture-binding substance embedded in the strand serves to prevent fogging of the inside of the insulating glass pane in the finished insulating glass pane by moisture enclosed in it.
  • Spacers made from such strands have a moisture-binding substance, such as, for example, compared to the previously used spacer frames, which are formed from hollow metal profile bars.
  • B. contain molecular sieves and be coated on both sides with an adhesive such as polyisobutylene before insertion between two individual glass panes, the advantage that devices required for the manufacture and coating of metallic spacer frames are omitted.
  • the extruded strands have been applied to a glass pane by means of a hand-held applicator, in that the applicator, to which the strand is fed from a supply roll, is guided along the edge of the glass pane.
  • a manual activity is undesirable.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a device for automatically applying such strands to glass panes, which can be integrated into a production line for insulating glass, in which the glass panes are not handled horizontally but rather in a standing manner.
  • the transport device which is part of this device, is used to feed the glass panes standing upright to a tool through which the adhesive strand of a glass pane can be placed; the transport device also serves to convey the glass panes which are encircled with such a strand to the subsequent work station within an insulating glass production line, that is to say the station in which two individual glass panes are connected to an insulating glass pane with the interposition of a spacer formed from the strand.
  • the transport device comprises a horizontal conveyor and a support device.
  • the horizontal conveyor preferably consists of a horizontal roller conveyor, the rollers of which can be driven synchronously.
  • the rollers of the roller conveyor do not run exactly horizontally, but are tilted a little backwards out of the horizontal position.
  • a roller conveyor one could also use an endless conveyor belt, the upper run of which runs horizontally.
  • As support for the lateral support of the glass panes are arranged in a frame, combined into a field, freely rotatable or synchronously driven with the horizontal conveyor support rollers or support rollers, whose axes of rotation are not exactly perpendicular, but are inclined a little from the vertical to the rear .
  • a flat air cushion wall which is inclined slightly backwards from the vertical can be used as the support device; it is a flat wall, on the front of which an air cushion is created by air outlet nozzles, on which the glass panes can slide gently along the wall. All of the support devices mentioned are state of the art in production lines for insulating glass.
  • a device for pressing the strand which is supplied from a supply, in particular from a roll, is arranged a little above the horizontal conveyor.
  • This pressing device presses the adhesively formed strand against a glass pane, which is guided past the pressing device standing on the horizontal conveyor.
  • the pressure device can simply be a pressure roller, the rotating axis of which runs perpendicular to the horizontal conveyor and parallel to the plane of the disk and acts on the second, still free, adhesive side surface.
  • the plane of the pane is understood to mean that plane which is in contact with a glass pane with its rear surface as it passes through the device, that is to say e.g. B. that plane that affects the support rollers of a support roller field, or - when training the support device air cushion wall - the surface of the air cushion wall.
  • the strand of this pressing device is connected by a strand conveyor device synchronized with the horizontal conveyor. fed, whose feed speed matches the feed speed of the horizontal conveyor.
  • the synchronization must be carried out carefully so that there is no slippage between the gas disc and the strand to be applied.
  • the strand conveyor is therefore intended to convey the strand without slippage.
  • rollers act on the top and bottom of the strand and can have a rough surface that is particularly suitable for slip-free conveying.
  • the arrangement of the pairs of rollers of such a strand conveyor device advantageously also serves to lead the strand to the pressing device in a suitable way.
  • the strand can also be conveyed between two endless synchronously driven conveyor belts which rest against the top and bottom of the strand.
  • the device according to the invention has a swiveling device for swiveling the glass panes when the horizontal conveyor is shut down by 90 ° in each case counter to the transport direction of the horizontal conveyor about an axis lying slightly above the installation level of the horizontal conveyor and running at right angles to the slice running plane.
  • the pressing device for the strand and the strand conveyor can be arranged in a stationary manner.
  • the glass pane which is to be covered with the strand, is conveyed upright on the horizontal conveyor and leaning against the support device against the recess of the horizontal conveyor and remains with its front edge - controlled by light barriers or the like sensors that respond to the position of the glass pane - in the area of the pressure roller stand.
  • the front end of a strand lying between the pressure roller and the disc surface is then pressed against the disc surface by bringing the pressure roller closer to it in the area of the front, lower disc corner.
  • the horizontal conveyor and, at the same time, the strand conveyor device are set in motion, so that when the glass pane passes through, the strand fed is applied to and pressed onto the glass pane parallel to the lower edge.
  • the horizontal conveyor and the strand conveyor are stopped at the same time, so that the glass pane remains in a position in which the pressure roller is close to the rear edge of the glass pane and the lower rear corner of the glass pane are located close to the swivel axis of the swivel device.
  • the glass pane is now pivoted by 90 ° against the transport direction of the horizontal conveyor by means of the pivoting device, and this has the consequence that the pressure roller is at the beginning of the pane edge which is now at the bottom after the pivoting process.
  • the work cycle described for repeating the strand is repeated along the second edge section of the glass pane. This is followed by two further rotations of the glass pane by 90 °, followed by a feed phase of the horizontal conveyor and the strand conveyor device until the strand is applied along all four edge sections of the glass pane. The strand is then separated from the strand stock by a separating device.
  • the invention counteracts the guide device for the strand, which cooperates with the pressing device and is arranged adjacent to it and acts on the upper side of the strand at least during the pivoting process of the disk.
  • the top of the strand is understood here to mean that side of the strand which faces away from the horizontal conveyor, that is to say points upwards.
  • the guide device acting on the upper side of the strand prevents the strand in the region of this guide device from being pulled upwards by the section of the strand which has already been applied and which pivots up with the glass pane.
  • the guide device acts like an abutment, around which the strand is bent by pivoting the glass pane through 90 °, the position and contour of that surface of the guide device which faces the strand determining the shape, which the strand takes in the corner area.
  • the arrangement of the guide device should be such that it does not or does not unnecessarily impede the pivoting of the glass pane with the strand section adhering to it. It follows from this that the guide device, insofar as it is in contact with the strand, should extend essentially to the side of the pivot axis of the pivot device when viewed in the conveying direction.
  • this guiding device can also assume guiding tasks for the strand during the passage of a glass pane, but this is not absolutely necessary.
  • the position of the swivel axis of the swivel device, the position of the guide device for the top of the strand and the position in which the rear, lower corner of each glass pane comes to a standstill before it is swiveled by stopping the horizontal conveyor can be achieved relative to one another in order to achieve an optimal one Adjust the shape of the corners of the strand.
  • the pivot axis of the pivoting device is expediently at the level of the pressing device for the strand, and thus at the level of the one applied along the lower edge of the pane.
  • Strand section in particular at the level of its center or in the area between its center and its top.
  • the position of the pivot axis should be matched to the position of the glass pane in which it is after the horizontal conveyor has stopped, so that the pivot axis intersects the bisector of the glass pane starting from the rear, lower corner of the glass pane. This ensures that the glass plate ends each pivoting by 90 ° exactly at the level of the horizontal conveyor.
  • a roller with a small diameter, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular to the plane of the disk running, is particularly suitable as the guide device which acts on the upper side of the strand.
  • the strand in the corner area can be bent around this roll while the glass pane is being pivoted.
  • the position and the diameter of the roll determine the shape of the strand as a result of the pivoting of the glass pane in the region of its corners. The thinner the roll, the sharper the formation of the corner of the strand.
  • the diameter of the roll is advantageously chosen to be smaller than the thickness of the strand, preferably between 2 and 3 mm. If, in exceptional cases, glass panes with rounded corners are to be machined on the device, it is advisable to use a roller with a correspondingly larger diameter instead.
  • the roller can also be used to guide the strand while the strand is being applied to the glass pane along its lower edge will.
  • a flat hold-down device can be selected as the guide device, which acts on the top of the strand, around one end of which the strand is bent when it is pivoted, or a wedge, which is thus oriented obliquely against the top of the strand that it is directed after a 90 ° pivoting of the disc against the inner apex of the corner forming in the strand.
  • a further possibility for guiding the strand during the swiveling process consists in grasping the strand - seen in the transport direction - at least on this side of the swivel axis on its upper side and on its underside between a pair of clamping jaws.
  • the strand is preferably also detected beyond the pivot axis with a further pair of clamping jaws, which, however, in contrast to the first-mentioned pair of clamping jaws, is pivotably arranged around the same pivot axis and is pivoted in synchronism with the pivoting device for the glass pane.
  • pivot arms As a pivoting device for the glass panes, it is expedient to use two pivot arms arranged at right angles to one another, which can be pivoted about their common pivot axis while maintaining their right angle and can be brought into engagement with two mutually perpendicular edges of the glass pane.
  • the pivot arms preferably have pivotable fingers which rest against the edges of the pane during the pivoting and are moved out of the plane of the pane after each pivoting of the glass pane, so that the pivot arms can then be pivoted back into their starting position without touching the glass pane.
  • the device has a base 1, and this carries a horizontal conveyor 2 and a support wall 3 extending above the horizontal conveyor 2.
  • the horizontal conveyor consists of a horizontal row of synchronously driven rollers 4, the axes not exactly horizontal, but from the horizontal position by a few Degrees are inclined backwards.
  • the support wall 3 is not arranged exactly vertically, but rather is inclined to the rear by a few degrees from the vertical position, so that the axes of the rollers 4 run at right angles to the front of the support wall 3.
  • the inclination of the horizontal conveyor 2 and the support wall 3 ensures that glass panes 5, which stand on the rollers 4 and are leaning against the support wall 3 in the direction of arrow 6, do not fall forward from the horizontal conveyor even without special safety measures.
  • the support wall 3 is expediently designed as an air cushion wall, that is to say that it has a regularly distributed surface area with a large number of air outlet openings through which air is blown by means of a blower, which air blows on the front of the support wall 3 emerges and slightly adjoins glass panes 5 from the support wall 3.
  • the air outlet openings in the support wall 3 and the blower are not shown in the drawings, since they are part of the prior art.
  • the device contains a swivel device consisting of two swivel arms 7a and 7b arranged at right angles to one another, which are arranged parallel to the front of the support wall 3 at a distance in front of it.
  • the common pivot axis 8 of the two pivot arms 7a and 7b extends at right angles to the support wall 3 and is arranged in the middle of the horizontal conveyor a little above the rollers 4.
  • the distance between the swivel arms 7a and 7b from the support wall 3 is dimensioned such that a glass pane 5 with a strand 9 glued onto its one side surface can be conveyed freely between them.
  • Fingers 10 are attached to both swivel arms 7a and 7b and can be swiveled about an axis parallel to the associated swivel arm 7a or 7b. These fingers 10 can be pivoted back and forth between two end positions; in one end position, the fingers run at right angles to the support wall 3 and penetrate the disc running plane (FIG. 8); in the other end position, the fingers are pivoted out of the plane of the pane and do not hinder the transport of a pane 5 in the direction of arrow 6. The fingers 10 are pivoted into their position crossing the pane running plane (FIG. 8) if they are to pivot a glass pane 5 against the transport direction 6, that is to say in the direction of the arrow 33, by 90 °. The fingers 10 then rest on those two edges of the glass pane 5 which are adjacent to the pivot arms 7a and 7b, and they hold the glass pane during the pivoting movement.
  • the fingers 10 are so long that their tips move in the semicircular grooves 11 in the support wall 3 when the glass panes 5 are pivoted.
  • a supply roll 12 On the underframe 1 there is also a supply roll 12 on which there is a supply of the strand 9 which is to be applied to the glass panes 5 to form a spacer frame.
  • the supply roll 12 is located in relation to the conveying direction 6 at the beginning of the device; its axis of rotation extending at right angles to the support wall 3 is arranged below the horizontal conveyor.
  • the strand 9 is drawn off from the supply roll 12 in the conveying direction 6 by a strand conveyor 13 shown in FIGS. 2-7.
  • the strand initially runs over some freely rotatable support rollers 14, which are arranged below the horizontal conveyor, then arrives at the strand conveyor 13, is simultaneously deflected upwards in the same, crosses the level of the horizontal conveyor 2 and is redirected again above the level of the horizontal conveyor the horizontal and enters the gap between the support wall 3 and a pressure roller 15, which has an axis of rotation parallel to the support wall 3 and perpendicular to the conveying direction 6 and in the vicinity of the pivot axis 8 of the pivot arms 7a and 7b variable in front of the rear wall 3 is arranged.
  • the strand conveyor 13 consists of two pairs of endless conveyor belts 16 and 17 or 18 and 19 arranged one behind the other, which grip the strand 9 on its underside and top side, thereby clamping it and forcibly conveying it between them.
  • the conveyor belts 16-19 are placed around deflecting rollers 20, 21 and 22, two of which, namely the deflecting rollers 21 and 22, also serve to deflect the strand 9 and, for this purpose, have a larger diameter than the other rollers 20, which are only used for Deflect the conveyor belts 16 to 19 serve.
  • each pair of conveyor belts at least one of the deflecting rollers is driven, preferably the deflecting rollers 21 and 22.
  • the supply roll 12 is assigned a pivotable probe arm 24, the pivot axis of which runs parallel to the axis of rotation of the supply roll 12; the probe arm lies against the circumference of the supply roll 12 and is equipped with an angular position transmitter which emits a signal when the strand supply on the supply roll 12 is running low.
