Definitions
- the invention relates to a combination tool in the form of a pair of scissors with two articulated double levers which have the cooperating cutting edges on one lever arm and the handles on the other lever arm, the lever arms comprising the handles being formed jointly like a hammerhead and both lever arms together a closed position in the closed position Have rod cross-section.
- a combination tool of the type mentioned at the outset has already become known from British Patent 23,437, in which the scissor handle is designed like a hammer head, while the lever arms carrying the cutting edges form the handle.
- the handle section in which the lever arms carrying the cutting and counter-cutting edges are Verdict and are provided with recesses, in which wooden strips or the like. are inserted.
- both lever arms must be designed in the manner of a conventional counter cutting edge of a pair of scissors, which is not opposed by a cutting edge delimited from two surfaces inclined at an acute angle to one another.
- a pair of scissors as shown in British Patent 23,437, paper and simple webs of material can possibly be cut, but a convenient, rapid severing of a seat belt or even the cutting of a metal sheet cannot be carried out.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of designing a combination tool of the type mentioned at the outset that it can be used as a versatile tool, in particular also in the context of accident assistance in motor vehicle accidents.
- the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge has a longitudinal recess for receiving the lever arm carrying the cutting edge, in that the lever arm carrying the counter cutting edge is of approximately U-shaped cross section and the one U leg is shorter than the other and the cutting edge of the other lever arm engages in the recess between the two U-legs and the end face of the shorter U-leg serves as a stop surface for a web of the other lever arm running next to the cutting edge and that the hammer head consisting of the handles on the side of the one lever arm pointed and on the side of the other lever arm has a rounded outer profile.
- the combination tool according to the invention can also be used as effectively as scissors, for example for quickly severing the seat belt, from which an accident victim can still be involved, in particular if the buckle of the belt cannot be reached or is jammed by the helper.
- the special design of the hammer head ensures high flexibility and optimal usability of the combination tool according to the invention. So it is quite possible to easily smash a window of a vehicle if a hole is first made in the window with the pointed outer profile of the hammer head, which is then broken out further with the rounded outer profile of the hammer head.
- the inventive design of the lever arms carrying the cutting results in a solid profile of the hammer handle, which guarantees effective power transmission when using the combination tool as a hammer.
- the abutment surfaces of the cutting edges support each other firmly. This measure is particularly important with regard to the required manageability and optimal power transmission of the tool according to the invention. In addition, you still have optimal scissors with a real sharp edge.
- the invention further provides that the lever arms carrying the cutting edges have a circular to oval rod cross-section in the closed position and the lever arm carrying the cutting edge takes up about a quarter of this cross-section, onto which a cross-sectional triangular cutting edge is placed.
- These lever arms can of course also have a polygonal cross-sectional area. It must only be ensured here that the combination tool according to the invention enables effective handling when used, be it as a hammer or as scissors.
- the lever arms forming the hammer head are laterally flattened perpendicular to the hinge axis of the double lever.
- a hammer head flattened in this way in comparison to conventional hammers is easier to use as a handle if the combination tool is used as a lever, e.g. to open jammed doors.
- the hammer handle can be used as a lever to initially expand the door gap a little and then finally open the door completely.
- lever arms forming the handles have thickening of the material. This increase in the dead weight of the hammer head significantly improves the effectiveness of the combination tool as a hammer. A relatively good effect can be achieved with a small amount of force, which is particularly important because people who handle the combination tool in such circumstances may be in shock themselves or may even be injured themselves.
- one of the lever arms forming the handles has an approximately circular opening for reaching through the thumb and the other has an elongated hole opening for reaching through the other fingers of the hand.
- a compromise must be found between two equal demands on the tool.
- the openings for the fingers must not be too large, so that the mass of the hammer head is not unduly reduced and the effectiveness of the tool is impaired when used as a hammer.
- the combination tool 1 consists of two double levers 2 and 3, which are preferably articulated to one another with a screw or rivet connection 4.
- the double lever 2 as shown in particular in FIG. 2, has two parallel outer edges 5 and 6 in the upper half, as seen from the viewpoint of the beholder, which are connected to one another by a semicircular curve 7.
- the outer edge 5 pivots below the bore 8 of the articulation 4 in a circular arc outwards to point 9.
- the outer edge 6 runs a little longer than the outer edge 5 and continues according to the description of a narrow circular arc 12 at 20 to 30 ° into a straight edge 13 to point 10. Points 9 and 10 are connected by a flat arch 11.
- the double lever 3 also has two parallel outer edges 14 and 15 which are connected at their upper end in the illustrated embodiment of the invention with a circular arc 16 which comprises approximately 90 °. Approximately at the level of the bore 8 of the screw connection 4, both outer edges 14 and 15 pivot outward at an angle of approximately 45 °. As it continues (FIG. 1), the distance between the outer edges 14 and 15 increases, the outer edge 15 merging into an arc 17.
- the outer edge 14 also shows, at the height corresponding to the circular arc 12 of the outer edge 6, an opposite circular arc 12 'which merges into an edge 13' of the double lever 3 corresponding to the edge 13 of the double lever 2.
- the lever arm 2a of the double lever 2 is in the region of it parallel outer edges 5 and 6 are approximately U-shaped, the one U-leg 18 being shorter than the leg 19.
- the lever arm 3a of the double lever 3 corresponds in cross-section (FIGS. 5 and 7) to approximately a quarter of an oval 21, with a triangular extension 22.
- the inner edge of the lever arm 3a represents the cutting edge 23.
- the inside edge of the longer U-leg 19 of the lever arm 2a corresponds to this as a counter cutting edge 24.
- the triangular extension 22 of the lever arm 3a, which forms the cutting edge 23, projects into the intermediate space 20 formed by the U-legs 18 and 19 of the lever arm 2a.
- a contact surface 25 runs on the lever arm 3a.
- the web 25 of the lever arm 3a comes to rest flat on the end face 26 of the shorter U-leg 18 of the lever arm 2a.
- the lever arms 2a and 3a carrying the cutters 23 and 24 have an oval, closed cross section in the example shown.
- the two double levers 2 and 3 pivot about the common hinge axis 4.
- the surfaces 30 and 31 of the double levers 2 and 3 sliding on one another are flattened perpendicular to the hinge axis 4 of the double levers (see FIGS. 3 and 4 ).
- the lever arms 2b and 3b which together form the handle of the tool are hammerhead-shaped (FIG. 1) and have a bead-like thickening 27 along their outer edges 5, 11 and 17, 15 (FIGS. 5 and 6).
- a circular opening 29 for the passage of the thumb In the surface of the lever arm 3b there is a circular opening 29 for the passage of the thumb, and in the surface of the lever arm 2b there is an elongated hole 28 for the passage of the other fingers of the hand.
- the combination tool can consist, for example, of surface hardened steel which is tough in the core and can preferably be at least partially coated with a plastic jacket or lacquer. If it is used as a hammer, the lever arms 2a and 3b carrying the cutting edges in the closed position (see FIG. 1) serve as a hammer handle and the lever arms 2b and 3b together as a hammer head, which is pointed on one side and rounded on the opposite side Has profile. When using the combination tool as scissors, the hammer head serves as a scissor handle. In order to ensure that the combination tool is also within easy reach when required, it is advisable to remove it by means of clamp fasteners on the front part of the passenger compartment, on the dashboard or on the console.

Description
- Fig. 1 das Kombinationswerkzeug in Ansicht,
- Fig. 2 das Werkzeug in auseinandergezogener Darstellung seiner Teile,
- Fig. 3 eine Seitenansicht des Werkzeugs in Pfeilrichtung 111 in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 4 eine Seitenansicht des Werkzeugs in Pfeilrichtung IV in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 5 eine Draufsicht in Pfeilrichtung V in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 6 eine Draufsicht in Pfeilrichtung VI in Fig. 1 und
Fig. 3 und 4).
