Definitions
- the invention relates to a subsurface or above-ground hydrant with an actuating spindle, a spindle nut with an extension tube and with a shut-off body which can be moved into the valve seat of the hydrant, and with an underfloor connection for a standpipe or with an above-ground column which has water outlets at the head for the removal of water as well wear associated outlet valves.
- Such a hydrant is e.g. B. from DE-C No. 872775 known.
- the outlet valves at the top of the standpipe or column are now often used in practice to temporarily shut off the water, so that the water is up to the outlet valve and the hydrant valve is in the open position during this shutoff time. Since the jacket pipe or the column remains filled with water via this outlet valve, it cannot be avoided that loose incrustations and other detachable impurities present in the jacket pipe or in the column and on the shut-off body are taken up as floating particles by the standing water and settle down in the water due to their own weight. These suspended particles can migrate down through the open valve seat of the hydrant and into the drinking water line, which endangers the drinking water.
- the object of the invention is to design the underground or above-ground hydrant so that even when water is shut off by the standpipe or column outlet valve and open hydrant valve, no contaminants can get into the drinking water.
- the collecting body for the suspended particles below the hydrant valve lies in the collecting position when the standpipe or column outlet valve is closed and the hydrant shut-off valve is open due to the water in the hydrant due to its own weight or due to spring force below on a housing seat of the additional housing and closes the clear hydrant cross section , so that the suspended matter in the water, even if it should migrate down through the open valve seat of the hydrant, can only settle on the top of the collecting body. This prevents the suspended particles from moving further down into the drinking water line, even when the hydrant shut-off valve is open.
- the collecting body is entrained by the flow energy of the outflowing water up to the rinsing position, the floating particles resting on the upper side of the collecting body being safely rinsed off the collecting body by the intensive water washing around the collecting body and reach the hydrant outlet together with the water flow. Even in the rinsing position of the collecting body, a further migration of the suspended particles down to the drinking water line is thus reliably prevented.
- the foreign particles present on the edge of the collecting body and on its housing seat are also carried upwards when the collecting body is lifted up by the water jet emerging from the still narrow annular gap at high speed, so that the drinking water always remains clean.
- the collecting body for the floating particles is designed according to the features in claim 2 as a ball with a significantly higher specific weight than water and the vertical additional housing is with longitudinal guide ribs for this collecting ball and below with a seat ring for the collecting position and in its middle part with a bulge for the rinsing position of the collecting ball. Due to the spherical design, the collecting body is particularly simple and can be constructed in the rinsing position, the outflowing water flows gently on all sides, foreign particles being rinsed off particularly effectively from the spherical surface.
- the collecting ball Due to its high specific weight, the collecting ball quickly lies on the seat ring of the additional housing when the water is at a standstill, and due to the central bulge of the additional housing, the collecting ball can be flushed around by the water in a streamlined manner without a high pressure loss occurring at this point .
- the collecting ball consists of a metallic hollow body with an elastic coating, the high specific weight can be easily achieved and the collecting ball is protected against corrosion by the elastic coating and lies softly on the seat ring in the collecting position.
- a holding stop which limits the upward movement in the additional housing is provided.
- this holding stop is expediently formed according to claim 5 by the lower end face of a downwardly projecting pin provided on the shut-off piston.
- This peg moves with the closing and opening movement of the shut-off piston and pushes the collecting body into the vicinity of the collecting position during the closing process, while it continuously follows the collecting body upwards during the opening process.
- the seat ring provided below in the additional housing is provided with one or more narrow relief bores so that the shut-off piston can displace the volume from the pressure chamber above the collecting body into the pressure chamber below the collecting body in the final phase of its retraction into the seat cylinder.
- the pin of the shut-off piston has a pressure spring for the catch body on its lower end, the catch body always lies securely on the housing seat ring during the closing movement of the shut-off piston.
- this spring is relieved again, so that the collecting body can move with the flow up to the rinsing position.
- the casing tube 1 of the underground hydrant shown forms in the area of the shut-off valve the valve housing 2, on which the connecting flange 3 is formed at the bottom.
- the shut-off valve of the hydrant consists of the shut-off piston 4, which can be moved into a seat cylinder 5, which is formed by a seat sleeve inserted into the valve housing 2.
- the shut-off piston 4 consists of a metallic base body 6, onto which a rubber jacket 7, which takes over the seal, is vulcanized.
- the shut-off piston 4 is connected to an extension tube 8, which carries the spindle nut 9 at the top.
- the underground hydrant is actuated from above via the spindle 10, when the spindle nut 9 seated on the threaded end 11 of the spindle 10 is rotated and thus the shut-off piston 4 is also moved in the opening or closing direction via the extension tube 8.
- Fig. 1 the shut-off piston 4 is shown in the right half of the drawing in the closed position and in the left half of the drawing in the open position.
- the shut-off valve 4, 5 is open, the water coming from below from the drinking water connection (not shown in any more detail) flows through the casing tube 1 to the water outlet 12 of the hydrant, to which the connecting claw 13 is connected, which is covered by the loose claw cover 13.
- the standpipe 14 is shown, which sits firmly on the connecting claw 13 of the underground hydrant.
- the standpipe handle piece 15 Above the standpipe handle piece 15 is the standpipe upper part 16 with two water outlets 17 and 18 for water withdrawal.
- the two standpipe outlet valves 19 and 20 are assigned to these two water outlets 17 and 18.
- the actuating square of the spindle 10 and the connecting claw 13 of the hydrant are protected in the interior of the street cap 21, which is closed off at the top by the cap cover 22 lying at the level of the road surface.
- an additional housing 25 provided with an upper flange 23 and a lower flange 24, which carries inside the longitudinally displaceable and spherical collecting body 26 for the floating particles.
- the vertical additional housing 25 with the connecting flanges 23 and 24 forms an independent installation unit which can be flange-mounted on the bottom of the normal underground hydrants in the modular system.
- the upper flange 23 is firmly connected to the flange 3 of the casing tube 1 by means of connecting screws, while the lower flange 24 is to be connected to the connecting flange of the branch connector of the drinking water pipe.
- the collecting ball 26 consists of a metallic hollow body, which is provided on the outside with an elastic coating 27 and has a much higher specific weight than water, so that it quickly travels down in standing water solely by its own weight and on the in the lower part of the Additional housing 25 provided seat ring 28 sets.
- the additional housing 25 is provided with longitudinal guide ribs 29 for the collecting ball 26 and has a bulge 30 in the central part, so that the Auf catch ball 26 in the rinsing position can be gently flowed around by the outflowing water with the least pressure loss.
- the catch position of the ball 26 is shown in the right half of the drawing and the rinsing position in the left half of the drawing in FIG. 1.
- the shut-off piston 4 of the hydrant valve is provided with a fixed pin 31 projecting axially downwards, the lower end face 32 of which forms a holding stop for the collecting ball 26 in the rinsing position.
- the seat ring 28 provided at the bottom in the additional housing 25, one or more narrow relief bores 33 are provided, which connect the adjacent pressure chambers 34 and 35 to one another and discharge the volume displaced by the shut-off piston 4 in the final phase of the closing movement from the pressure chamber 34 into the pressure chamber 35. So that the collecting ball 26 can be inserted into the additional housing 25, a correspondingly large mounting opening 36 is provided at the top of the additional housing 25, as a result of which the clear diameter at this point is larger than the nominal hydrant diameter.
- the upper flange 23 of the additional housing 25 is therefore still provided with a support ring 37 for the seat sleeve 5.
- the flange seal 38 takes over the sealing between the two connection flanges 3 and 23.
