Definitions

  • the invention relates to a profile seal according to the preamble of claim 1, in which it is assumed from US-A-3 029 481; Such a sealing element is simply referred to below as the “glazing profile”.
  • a glazing profile sits - as mentioned above - on the weather side of the window at the edge between the window glass and a contact fold or web of the frame which overlaps the edge of the window glass on the outside or weather side, with a sufficiently tight, in particular watertight seal against the weather side being achieved should.
  • This seal is relatively simple along the straight frame legs, but there are great difficulties at the four corners, each between the window glass and the casement.
  • the sash frame and window glass (in particular insulating glass) are in fact manufactured individually in the intended dimensions and then assembled together.
  • the glazing profile with its anchoring part Before inserting the window glass, the glazing profile with its anchoring part must first be pressed into the corresponding groove on the frame rebate. These grooves meet at right angles at the corners. So far, the corresponding length of the glazing profiles has been mitred and their anchoring parts pressed into the grooves so that they butt against each other at the corners. It is relatively difficult or cumbersome, especially because of the extensibility or compressibility of the seals, to comply with the length dimension in each case, so that neither a gap nor a compression occurs at the corners, because both lead to leaks. In addition, the glazing profiles must then be glued or welded together at the corners, which is another difficult and expensive operation.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a glazing profile of the type mentioned which can be laid around right-angled corners without the sealing part becoming wrinkled or even forming fine wrinkles.
  • the solution according to the invention is specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1 and is further developed by the features of the subclaims.
  • window glazing remains completely sealed even at the corners when using such a glazing profile.
  • this glazing profile can be pressed into the anchoring groove, starting from the middle of the lower horizontal frame leg, starting with all four corners, with the anchoring part being relatively easy to cut off the other end of the glazing profile at the joint at the right length. So you only have one push instead of four, and this push is not in the critical corner area, but in the straight area, along the upper frame leg, where there is little or no rainwater.
  • a profile seal is also known from US-A-3 514 916, which is also intended for windows with rounded corners.
  • This seal has a leg that rests against the end face of the window glass and a leg that is at right angles thereto, to which a sealing lip is formed, which comes to rest between the window glass and the profile leg in the assembled state.
  • an inclined auxiliary rib is provided between the sealing lip and profile leg, which is intended to prevent friction, so that the actual sealing lip can more easily participate in the movements of the windshield of a vehicle.
  • the glazing profile primarily intended for the weather side can also be used for the inside or room side, for example if a one-piece, square inner frame is provided. If necessary, the glazing profile according to the invention can also be used as a seal between the casement and the fixed window frame.
  • the glazing profile according to the invention is of course equally suitable for sliding windows or fixed windows.
  • This glazing profile is primarily intended for window frames made of drawn plastic profiles, but it can also be provided for window frames made of metal or wood. A Shore hardness A of 55 to 65 has proven to be expedient for this glazing profile.
  • the glazing profile has an approximately strip-shaped base part 1, which rests with its underside - all around - on a web 3 of the casement 4 which overlaps the window glass 2 on the weather side W.
  • an approximately T-shaped, barb-like anchoring part 5 protruding downward is formed, which engages in a correspondingly designed anchoring groove 6 of the web 3.
  • the cross sections of the anchoring part 5 and anchoring groove 6 are designed in a manner known per se so that the anchoring part can be pressed into or grooved into the anchoring groove by relatively light pressure from above.
  • a protruding bead or web 7 is formed on the upper side of the base part 1 facing the glass 2, the upper corners 8, 9 and rear throats 10, 11 of which are rounded.
  • a sealing part 12 cooperates with this web 7, which extends from the edge 13 of the base part 1 facing the free atmosphere in an arcuate or arched manner upwards and over the web.
  • the integrally molded sealing part 12 has two legs 15, 16 which preferably merge into one another via a rounding or curvature 14, one leg 15 adjoining the edge 13 of the base part 1 lying at a free distance from the bead or web 7 and the other leg 16 'extends over the bead or web 7, as shown in FIG. 1 in the relaxed state.
  • the other leg (hereinafter the sealing leg) is at a distance 17 from the web 7 (hereinafter the pressure web 7) before the window glass 2 is applied, or in other words: the height of the weather-side leg 15, including the curvature 14, is greater than the height of the web 7.
  • the assembled state of the window with this glazing profile is shown in Fig. 2.
  • the sealing leg 16 bears on the one hand against the window glass 2 and on the other hand against the web 7, a tubular, closed cavity 25 being formed on the side.
  • the weather-side leg 15 is slightly compressed and bulged outwards. Namely, this leg 15 and the adjoining area of the curvature 14 are bulged more outwards along the corner than along the straight lengths; this bulge should be the reason why there are no wrinkles at the corners, but rather smooth, continuous sealing surfaces. Thanks to the design according to the invention, the sealing part can be moved or deformed in such a way that it evades to the free atmosphere at the corners of the greater pressure. Since the opposite, i.e.
  • the sealing leg 16 reliably seals together with the web 7. Thanks to the deformation during the assembly of the window - or thanks to the greater height of the leg 15 in the relaxed state - there is a resilient pressure of the sealing leg 16 against the glass 2 due to the elasticity of the material, which is further increased by the in the tubular cavity 25 trapped air slightly compressed during the assembly process.
  • an inter-pane insulating gas 2, 2a is provided which is overlapped on the inside (room side) by a frame web 18 and is thus held in place with the interposition of a known four-lip seal 19.
  • a hook bar 20 molded onto the frame web 18 engages behind a corresponding bar 21 on the casement frame, a further bar 22 of the frame web 18 cooperates with a bar 23 of the wing.
  • the end 16a of the sealing leg is also laterally spaced from the wing part.
