- the original commercial form of hot melt adhesive is the granulate; it therefore makes sense to also use granules in a melting and application device of the type mentioned at the beginning. However, this would be partially pushed back into the storage container by the delivery stroke and jam the delivery piston in the melting chamber.
- the inventive use of a slide valve separate from the delivery piston in the feed opening of the melting chamber ensures that the storage container is securely closed after the filling process.
- the melt adhesive granulate can then be pressed by the delivery piston without any problems in the direction of the melt wall.

- the piston 7 can immediately turn back after reaching the filling position and reach the limit switch 9.
