Definitions

  • the invention relates to a writing mechanism with a recording element which can be moved along the pressure abutment and brought into the rest position to the side of the writing area and with means for deflecting and guiding a recording medium guided around the pressure abutment.
  • the recording medium When it is transported further beyond this trough, the recording medium then endeavors to move tangentially away from the pressure abutment. So that the recording element to be moved along the pressure abutment does not interfere with the retraction of the recording medium, in the rest position it is usually located laterally outside the actual writing area into which the recording medium is to be inserted.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a device for a writing mechanism with which a secure guidance of the record carrier is also achieved above the writing area, so that the record carrier can be deflected automatically around the print abutment without additional handling.
  • the device can be designed as a modular unit and pivoted so that it can be deactivated if necessary. This is intended to make the printing unit usable for various types of recording medium.
  • This object is achieved in that two or more flat hold-down devices are arranged on a pivotable profile shaft, which is mounted parallel to the pressure abutment in side parts above the recording element and when pivoting the hold-down device in a first position adjacent to the pressure abutment and in a second, from Pressure abutment displaced position and that a control device for pivoting the profile shaft is arranged in at least one of the side parts, which can be actuated by the recording member in at least one of its lateral rest positions.
  • Each hold-down device has a flat S-shape, the end pointing towards the recording element being adapted to the shape of the pressure abutment.
  • the hold-down device is rotatably connected to a bracket which can be pivoted by the profile shaft. As a result, the hold-down device can be moved over the pressure abutment by rotating the profile shaft in such a way that the front end protrudes from the pressure abutment in the position for insertion of the recording medium and the recording medium is automatically deflected towards the pressure abutment.
  • a pressure roller is expediently assigned to each hold-down device, with which the recording medium is pressed against the pressure abutment.
  • This pressure roller is resiliently mounted on a guide piece which is arranged displaceably in the housing of the device.
  • the control device consists of a slide which is connected to the profile shaft via a pivoting lever and a lever which actuates the slide.
  • This lever is in the effective range of the recording element, so that it can be pivoted by the latter in its end position.
  • the entire device for retracting the recording medium is automatically actuated as soon as the recording element has reached the position in which this retraction is possible.
  • This position can be the beginning of the line, for example. It is useful, however, the rest position of the recording element, which is a few switching steps outside the actual writing area in a known manner.
  • the automatic control of the device according to the invention can take place both at the beginning and at the end of the writing area. In the latter case, devices for pivoting the profile shaft must then be provided on both side parts.
  • Fig. 1 only the parts of a writing mechanism are shown in perspective, which are essential for understanding the invention.
  • the platen roller 8 is rotatably supported with its bearing bolts 25, only one of which is shown, in the side walls 26 of the printing unit.
  • a bushing 25a is attached to the bearing pin 25.
  • the device according to the invention consists of a housing 15 and the two side parts 20 and 21. Within the housing 15, a profile shaft 32 is rotatably mounted in the side parts 20 and 21.
  • the housing 15 can be plugged onto the bearing pin 25 of the platen roller 8 as a modular unit.
  • the holding levers 24 serve this purpose, of which only one is also shown in FIG. 1. These holding levers can be plugged onto the bushes 25a by means of an integrated claw-like clamping part.
  • the holding levers 24 carry a bolt 22 with which they lie in a recess 3 in the side walls 26 (FIG. 3).
  • the bolts 22 are each held in the recesses 3 by a lever 28 in that the front end of the lever 28 bears against the bolt 22 under pressure by a spring 27.
  • a baffle 23 can be plugged on with the help of the bearing pins 12.
  • hold-down 17 are mounted on the profile shaft. They are flat and have an elongated S-shape, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • the front end of the hold-down device 17 is adapted to the shape of the roller 8.
  • the hold-down devices 17 are provided at the rear end with lugs 34 in which the brackets 33 are mounted. These brackets 33 are pivoted by the profile shaft 32.
  • the hold-down device 17 has an opening 35 into which a guide piece 29 can be inserted. This guide piece 29 is drawn separately in FIG. 2 for the sake of clarity.
  • a pressure roller 16 is mounted at the front end of the guide piece 29.
  • a torsion spring 30 acts on the axis of rotation of this roller 16 and presses the axes of the roller 16 against webs 14 of the hold-down device 17.
  • the guide piece 29 has a guide profile 31 at the rear end with which it can be pivotably mounted in a sliding slot 10 of the housing 15.
  • a control device is arranged in the side part 21 of the housing 25, which essentially consists of a slide 44 and an angle lever 38.
  • the angle lever 38 is rotatably mounted on a bearing pin 41 of a bearing block 39 and is held in the position shown by the leg spring 40.
  • the bearing block 39 is fastened around the bearing pin 25 on the side part 26 of the writing mechanism.
  • One end of the lever 38 protrudes into the effective area of the recording element consisting of the print head 37 and carriage 36.
  • the other end of the angle lever 38 is designed like a claw, one claw 42 acting as a switching lug and the other claw 47 acting as an actuating lug.
  • the slide 44 is held in the position shown by a spring 11.
  • a pivot lever 46 is rotatably mounted, which is firmly connected to the profile shaft 32. If the slide is moved by the angle lever 38, the profile shaft 32 is thereby pivoted.
  • FIG. 3 shows the side view of the arrangement with the hold-down device 17 pivoted away.
  • the recording medium 1 is fed below the platen roller 8 through the insertion channel 6.
  • the recording medium 1 is applied to the platen roller 8 by the contact plate 5 assigned to the channel 6 below the write head 37.
  • the contact plate 5 acts as a pressure roller and takes over part of the transport forces.
  • the hold-down device 17 With the pivoting of the profile shaft 32 by abutment of the carriage 36 against the direction of the arrow shown in FIG. 2 and the resulting rotation of the angle lever 38 with simultaneous displacement of the slide 44, the hold-down device 17 is pivoted forward via the bracket 33, whereby the front end of the Hold-down device 17 is lifted off the platen roller 8.
  • the pressure rollers 16 remain in contact with the pressure abutment.
  • the recording medium 1 is fed to the platen roller 8 via the underside of the conveyor 2. It is deflected by the transport rollers 7 and by the trough 4 around the platen roller 8. The further insertion of the record carrier 1 (in this case an endless form) beyond the writing area takes place in the manner described in FIG. 3 for a single form. Since a baffle plate 23 is provided in the present example, the recording medium 1 is diverted upwards by this. The pressure roller 16 is now pressed by the torsion spring 30 against the platen roller 8. The axis of the pressure roller 16 is lifted off the hold-down device 17 by appropriate design of the webs 14.
  • the leg spring 40 of the angle lever 38 will initially follow the movement of the carriage 36 until it has assumed its position shown in broken lines.
  • the actuating nose 47 comes against the underside of the slide 44 and lifts it against the tension spring 11 into the position shown in dashed lines.
  • the profile shaft 32 is pivoted and the hold-down device 17 is returned to the position shown in dashed lines, in which the front end rests on the pressure roller 8.
  • the angle lever 38 is not pivoted.
  • one end of the angle lever 38 can be designed in such a way that the lugs 42 and 47 are constantly in contact with the slide 44.
  • the slide 44 is then inevitably pulled down by the nose 42 and in the dashed position inevitably pulled back again by the nose 47.
  • the leaf spring 43 and the tension spring 45 can be omitted, since the slide 44 is inevitably actuated in both directions.
  • Writing units in booking machines are often designed in such a way that different types of recording media have to be clamped or guided around the pressure abutment in different ways.
  • an account card has to be passed vertically past the platen, while an endless form is diverted from the transporter to the platen, where it is returned to the transporter.
  • the continuous form is inserted by hand.
  • the guide brackets of the transporter are brought into an open position and closed again after inserting the continuous form.
  • a plug-in device is provided on the writing mechanism for transporting an account card.
  • levers 18 are provided on both sides of the device, which are firmly connected to one another by a shaft 19.
  • This shaft 19 is mounted in the side walls 26 of the writing mechanism.
  • At least one of these levers 18 is firmly coupled to a hand lever 49 which has three locking positions I, 11, 111.
  • a resilient extension 50 is provided with three notches, in which a stationary pin 51 engages. If the hand lever 49 is moved, the levers 18 pivot the bolts 22 of the holding lever 24 and thus the housing 15.
  • FIG. 3 shows the position of the device in the position II of the hand lever 49. It is set when the recording medium 1, for . B.
  • the hold-down devices 17 are operated in the manner described above by the profile shaft 32 and by the end position of the carriage 36.
  • the tub 4 is mounted with its neck 52 in a slot 53 of the lever 18. In this Position II is the tub 4 on the pressure abutment 8. Another bearing point of the tub 4 including the pressure rollers 7 is the axis 54, which, in contrast to the attachment 52, is stationary.
  • the retracted record carrier 1, z. B. a single form or form sets can be aligned manually, as is usual with typewriters.
  • This position is shown in Fig.
  • the shoulder 52 of the trough 4 slides in the guide slot 53 of the lever 18 to the bottom right.
  • the tub 4 rotates about the axis 54.
  • the pressure rollers 7 attached to the tub 4 are thereby removed from the pressure abutment 8.
  • the bolts 55 fastened to the lever 18 push the side parts 20 and 21 of the housing 15 forward, so that the entire device is rotated clockwise around the bolts 22 and the pressure rollers 16 are also lifted off the pressure abutment 8.
  • the device is moved backwards and is deactivated.
  • a plug-in device can be attached above the pressure abutment 8 in a manner known per se, but not shown, through which, for example, account cards are inserted between the print head 37 and the pressure abutment 8 and after the front spring plate 5 has been pivoted away and are fed to the channel 9.
  • the introduction of an endless Formulares of the underside of a conveyor 2 is' possible to back platen and back to the top of the transporter. 2 This possibility can be seen from FIG. 8 in connection with FIG. 4 when the deflector plate 23 is removed.
  • Another advantage is the resulting wide paper channel 57 between the tub 4 and the pressure abutment 8 and the wide open pressure rollers 7, so that a good paper transport is possible, especially for continuous form sets.
  • the only function remaining is the spring bar 5, which only slightly abuts the recording medium 1 against the pressure abutment 8.
