Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a hand-held belt grinder with a guide frame according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a hand belt grinding machine is known from DE-U-1 964 108, the housing being mounted with pins in oblique slots in brackets which are connected to the guide frame.
  • a spring is provided between the housing and the guide frame, which presses it into a lifting position, so that the grinding belt is located behind the contact surface of the guide frame.
  • the housing is pressed against the action of this spring in the direction of the workpiece, the grinding depth is therefore dependent on the pressing force of the operator.
  • the housing is pressed unevenly against the workpiece, that is, tilted. This results in an unclean sanding pattern, thin veneers can be sanded through and damaged.
  • the guide frame is connected to the housing by means of parallel leaf springs. In the normal position, the grinding belt protrudes over the contact surface.
  • a lifting device is provided between the housing and the guide frame, with which the housing can be raised against the guide frame. When this lifting device is released, the housing and thus the sanding belt return to the original sanding position.
  • the hand-held belt sander is to be placed on a surface during short work interruptions or at the end of sanding work, this can only be done without damaging the sanding belt or surface if the sanding belt has come to a complete standstill.
  • the operator is undesirably forced to hold the hand belt grinder until the grinding belt comes to a standstill, which leads to a delay in the further work process.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to create a hand-held belt grinder with a guide frame which can be shifted as quickly as possible into a working position that recedes against the grinding surface and a lifting position that is superior to it and can be locked there.
  • the guide frame can be brought quickly into a lifting position projecting beyond the grinding surface in order to set the machine down, so that the machine can be put down safely.
  • the adjusting device is connected to a coupling member which is screw-mounted as an adjusting screw in the adjusting rocker.
  • this adjusting screw is connected to brackets which are adjustably attached to the housing. This allows the bearing surface of the guide frame to be adjusted once to the effective grinding surface of the grinding belt during assembly. This exact setting of the guide frame is necessary in order to achieve a perfectly clean sanding pattern.
  • a grinding belt 2 with an effective grinding surface 3 is mounted in a housing 1 and can be driven by a motor, not shown, via a gear.
  • the housing 1 is surrounded by a guide frame 4, which has a support surface 5.
  • brackets 6 and 7 are provided, which are fastened to the housing 1 in an adjustable manner (FIGS. 4 and 5).
  • the housing 1 with elongated holes 8 reach through the screws 9, which are mounted in holes 10 of console 6 and are provided with nuts 11.
  • the brackets 6 and 7 have eyes 12 and 13 into which adjusting screws 14 are screwed. These touch with their end face 15 a contact surface 16 of the housing 1.
  • the brackets 6 and 7 are provided with outwardly directed storage pockets 17 which run essentially at an angle to the support surface 5 of the guide frame and open downwards.
  • the guide frame 4 is provided with bearing blocks 18, on which the pin holder 19 is fastened with screws 20 in the direction of the housing 1.
  • the pin holders 19 are provided with elongated holes 21.
  • Guide pins 22 connected to the pin holders 19 engage in the bearing pockets 17, with a spherical and conical design of the guide pin 22 a point contact between the guide pin 22 and the bearing pocket 17 arises. This ensures accurate and safe guidance of the housing 1 on the guide frame 4.
  • an adjusting screw 24 is screwably mounted on a narrow side of the guide frame 4 in an adjusting rocker 23.
  • the free end: of adjusting screw 24 is provided with a pin 25 which extends through a bore 26 of a coupling axis 27 and is secured by a nut 28.
  • the two coupling pins 29 of the coupling axis 27 engage in upwardly open pockets 30 of the bracket 6 and are secured by a form spring 31 which is fastened to the bracket 6 with screws 32.
  • an adjustment device 33 is provided which is pivotably mounted on an axle 34 fastened to the guide frame 4. (See also FIG. 3) It consists of the adjusting rocker 23 and the eccentric lever 35 which is pivotably mounted at the free end of the adjusting rocker 23.
  • the adjusting rocker 23 is pivotably mounted on the axis 34 with the two brackets 36, one of which is also on this axis 34 mounted double-leg torsion spring 37 acts on the adjusting rocker 23 in a counterclockwise direction.
  • An axle body 39 with an axis 40-40 is rotatably mounted in bores 38.
  • Axle body 39 is provided at both ends with collar pins 41 on which the eccentric lever 35 is pivotally mounted. He is provided in the region of the collar pin 41 with contact surfaces 42 and 43, each having different distances from the axis 40-40 and of which in the example shown, the contact surface 42 is supported under the action of the torsion spring 37 against the contact blocks 44 of the guide frame 4. If the eccentric lever 35 is pivoted from the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 1 to the position shown in dash-dotted lines, then the contact surface 43 lies against the contact block 44, whereby the axis 40-40 and thus the adjusting rocker 23 is pivoted away from the contact block 44.
  • Housing 1 is thereby shifted upwards via adjusting screw 24 and brackets 6 and 7 with their oblique pockets 17 in the guide pin 22 of the guide frame 4 and thus assumes a lifting position which is superior to the grinding surface 3 and in which the hand-held belt grinding machine can be placed despite the grinding belt 2 running.
