Definitions
- the invention relates to a profile part for the closure of roof edges, in particular flat roofs, with a U-shape in cross-section for placement on strip-shaped edge closures, the legs of the U projecting downward and covering openings and gaps to be sealed.
- Roof edge closures are known which generally consist of metal sheets, such as copper, aluminum or zinc, and of asbestos cement. Due to the material, only certain lengths can be obtained with such materials manufacture that must be assembled when laying on the roof. These sections are connected by soldering, riveting, gluing or by sealing profile parts or the like, especially with asbestos cement. These seams are critical in the known roof finishes. Weather and temperature influences cause this connection to leak, sometimes even to rupture, due to length extensions and shifts in the roofing. A tight edge seal is not guaranteed. Destruction of the roof edge with all its consequences is possible. A constant control or maintenance of such roof edge connection is difficult and hardly feasible. Even the clean and exact laying and processing requires special skilled workers and is expensive.
- the object of the present innovation is therefore the creation of a profile part of the type mentioned at the outset, with which a tight and dimensionally stable roof edge finish can be created, preferably even without special skilled tradesmen and in a clean, exact installation.
- the elastomer is a vulcanizable unsaturated ethylene-propylene rubber which contains dienes as the tert component, for example dicyclopentadiene, hexadiene, etc.
- dienes for example dicyclopentadiene, hexadiene, etc.
- EPDM elastomers are notable for good aging, ozone and and cold resistance.
- EPDM is the abbreviation of the English ethylene propylene and D iene, where M is the symbol for polymethylene.
- the elastic material is a thermoplastic
- the abovementioned exhaust gases, smog or the like cannot have any deleterious effects on the new profile part, and the introduction of moisture, wetness, etc. is desirable impossible.
- Another advantage of using an elastomer - or an elastic material at all - is the inclusion of length extensions of the roof edge, as they are z. B. result from temperature influences and the like.
- the web connecting the legs of the U has an anchoring foot for anchoring to a groove wood fastened to the edge of the roof or if bracing lips are preferably provided on the outside of the anchoring foot.
- These lips can advantageously provide sealing lips on the inside of the legs of the U for a firm clamping connection or a tight fit against the edge of the roof and thus for an optimal roof seal.
- These lips cooperate with the pretension of the legs of the U-shaped profile part as well as with the elasticity of the profile part material, so that the above-mentioned length extensions are absorbed elastically in the special anchoring (such as protrusion-type anchoring feet), so that no displacements, Deformations or the like may occur.
- the corner connection of two abutting profile parts can also be joined together by miter cuts with an elastic adhesive connection or cold vulcanized.
- Profile parts created in this way are, according to the invention, very easy to manufacture and, if appropriate, can simply be slipped over the strip-shaped edge closure.
- one leg of the U is longer than its other leg.
- the profile part on the side facing the facade can sealingly reach over the column that arises from the attachment of the edge strip, usually called the lower batten, while on the opposite side, on which the shorter leg of the profile part is provided, such a gap does not need to be covered, especially since it is sealed by a roof sealing skin.
- the same profile part according to the invention can be used in all three roof structures shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
- a roof 1 which according to FIG. 1 is provided with a facade cladding 2 and according to FIGS. 2 and 3 with additional intermediate layers 15 and 16 or 15 and a raised edge 16, a lower batten 4 is nailed or screwed, thus creating the strip-shaped roof edge described above.
- the roof seal 3 is laid over it.
- the groove wood 5 is nailed or screwed onto the lower batten 4 and thus also the roof seal 3 is simultaneously held and fixed.
- the profile part according to the invention here consisting of an elastomer, is simply slipped over the strip-shaped edge closure 4, 5 during assembly and clamped in the groove 9 by the bracing lips 8 of the anchoring foot 7.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 und 3 ähnliche Dachrandabschlüsse bei anderen Ausführungsformen.
