Description
- Hintergrund der Erfindung
- Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf flüssige Reinigungszusammensetzungen mit erhöhter antimikrobieller Wirkung. Genauer gesagt bezieht sich die Erfindung auf eine Zusammensetzung oder auf Zusammensetzungen, die die antimikrobielle Wirkung von flüssigen Reinigungszusammensetzungen durch Puffern des pHs der Formulierung, so daß der pH unter Anwendungsbedingungen nicht höher als 5,0, vorzugsweise auf zwischen 3,0 bis 5,0, steigt (im Gegensatz zum anfänglichen pH) verstärken.
- Auf dem Markt herrscht ein großer Bedarf an milden flüssigen Reinigungsformulierungen, die außerdem eine antibakterielle Wirkung zeigen. Antibakterielle Reinigungsmittel werden bevorzugt, da sie Keime abtöten und milde Körperreinigungsmittel sollen vorzugsweise Hautirritationen, Trockenheit usw. minimieren. Die Kombination von milden Reinigungsformulierungen und starker antimikrobieller Wirkung ist jedoch schwierig zu erreichen. Daher sind Seifen, wenn sie antibakterielle Wirkungen bereitstellen, gegenüber der Haut nicht mild. Werden sehr milde Nicht-Seife-oberflächenaktive Mittel verwendet, wird die antibakterielle Wirkung stark beeinträchtigt.
- Der Balanceakt zwischen der Bereitstellung von Milde und effektiver antibakterieller Wirkung wird beispielsweise in der Internationalen Veröffentlichung WO 92/18100 ausgewiesen. In dieser Veröffentlichung wird gesagt, daß verbesserte klinische Milde durch die Verwendung eines wasserlöslichen kationischen Polymers bereitgestellt wird (siehe Seite 10, Zeilen 24 – 29). Anstelle eines zusätzlich ethoxylierten oberflächenaktiven Mittels wird offenbar ein kationisches Polymer verwendet, da der Prozentsatz an ethoxyliertem mildem oberflächenaktiven Mittel minimiert werden muß, um die antimikrobielle Wirkung nicht zu beeinträchtigen (Seite 7, Zeilen 4 – 6).
- Ein anderer Ansatz, Mildewirkung ohne die Beeinträchtigung der antibakteriellen Eigenschaften bereitzustellen, ist der, der anscheinend von Dial beispielsweise in Liquid Dial Plus mit Moisturizers Antibacterial Soap® verwendet wird. Hier werden Mildevorteile offenbar durch die Verwendung von Feuchthalteverbindungen, eher als durch die Verwendung von sehr milden oberflächenaktiven Mitteln allein, die, wie oben angegeben, antibakterielle Wirkung beeinträchtigen, bereitgestellt.
- In beiden Fällen ist ohne weiteres zu erkennen, daß es extrem schwierig ist, effektive antibakterielle Wirkung in Gegenwart sehr milder oberflächenaktiver Mittel bereitzustellen. Es ist eher notwendig, die Gegenwart dieser milden oberflächenaktiven Mittel zu verringern, größere Mengen an schärferen oberflächenaktiven Mitteln oder Seifen zu verwenden und die Wirkungen der Schärfe durch die Bereitstellung kationischer Mittel, die die Milde konditionieren (WO 92/18100) oder Feuchthaltemittel (wie in dem Dial-Produkt), zu maskieren.
- Es würde von großem Vorteil sein, wenn die antibakterielle Wirkung entweder durch die Bereitstellung einer Verbindung oder von Verbindungen, die allein oder zusammen den pH einer flüssigen Zusammensetzung bei einem pH puffern, der niedrig genug ist, um antibakterielle Wirkung für diese Zusammensetzungsformulierung bereitzustellen; oder durch die Bereitstellung einer Verbindung oder von Verbindungen, die allein oder zusammen den pH einer flüssigen Zusammensetzung puffern, die ein antibakterielles Mittel enthält, wodurch die Wirkung des antibakteriellen Mittels selbst in den Zusammensetzungen mit sehr milden Systemen aus oberflächenaktiven Mitteln erhöht wird (das heißt, verstärkt).
- Fettsäuren und deren Esterderivate sind verwendet worden, um antibakterielle Wirkung in Genußmitteln, Pharmazeutika und Kosmetika bereitzustellen (siehe zum Beispiel
EP 0,244,144 ;US 4,002,775 ;US 4,406,884 ;US 4,997,851 und Kabara in JAOCS, Vol. 61 Nr. 2 (Februar 1984)). - Die Verwendung von kurzkettigen Fettsäuren, im allgemeinen als Verstärker von Germiziden, ist ebenso bekannt. Diese Fettsäuren sind beispielsweise mit halogenierten Germiziden bei hohem pH und mit Isethiazolonen als Verstärker verwendet worden (siehe FR 2,223,049 und
EP 488,606 -
US 3,218,260 von Lewandowski offenbart Reinigungszusammensetzungen, die verschiedene organische oder anorganische Säuren enthalten. Der pH dieser Zusammensetzungen (kleiner als 2) liegt ebenso unter dem pH der Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung. - In keiner dieser Referenzen wird gelehrt oder vorgeschlagen, daß eine oder mehrere Verbindungen entweder zur Erhöhung der antibakteriellen Wirkung in flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen oder zur Verstärkung antibakterieller Verbindungen, die bereits in den flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen vorliegenden können, bei einem pH der durch die Ansprüche der vorliegenden Erfindung spezifiziert wird, verwendet werden.
- US-Patent Nr. 5,132,037 von Greene et al., lehrt wässerige Zusammensetzungen, in denen freie C8-C22-Fettsäwen verwendet werden können. Alle Beispiele (Palmitin, Stearin) sind deutlich auf langkettige Fettsäuren gerichtet und es gibt absolut keine Kennzeichnung der antibakteriellen oder verstärkenden Wirkung der kurzkettigen Fettsäuren.
- Unerwarteterweise haben die Anmelder nunmehr herausgefunden, daß eine oder mehrere Verbindungen kurzkettiger Fettsäuren verwendet werden können, um den pH einer Zusammensetzung auf innerhalb eines definierten niedrigen pH-Bereichs zu puffern und so:
- (1) die antibakterielle Wirkung von flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen zu erhöhen und/oder
- (2) die antibakterielle Wirkung von flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen, die bereits ein antibakterielles Mittel enthalten, zu verstärken.
- Kurze Zusammenfassung der Erfindung
- Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen, umfassend
- (1) irgendein mildes oberflächenaktives System (d. h., irgendeines oder mehrere oberflächenaktive Mittel, die allein oder zusammen milder sind als Seife selbst, wie durch klinische Tests veranschaulicht wird (z. B. Zeintest)) in einer Menge von etwa 1 bis 99 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 2 bis 85 Gew.-%, stärker bevorzugt 3 bis 40 Gew.-%;
- (2) 0,1 bis 10 Gew. %, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 5 Gew. %, stärker bevorzugt 0,5 bis 5,0 Gew.-%, einer Verbindung oder von Verbindungen, die den pH der flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzung allein oder zusammen so puffern, daß der pH unter Anwendungsbedingungen zwischen 3,0 und 5,0 liegt (d. h., 1 : 0,5 bis 1 : 100 Verdünnung, vorzugsweise 1 : 1 bis 1 : 25 Verdünnung des Produktes in H2O), wobei die pH-Pufferung ausgewählt ist aus: (a) unsubstituierten, gesättigten oder ungesättigten C4-C10-Fettsäuren; und
- (3) 1 bis 99 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 15 bis 97, stärker bevorzugt 60 bis 97 Gew.-% Wasser.
- In einer zweiten Ausführungsform der Erfindung umfaßt die flüssige Hautreinigungszusammensetzung weiterhin 0,001 bis 5 Gew. % eines antibakteriellen Mittels, und die Pufferverbindung oder -verbindungen agieren dahingehend, daß sie die antimikrobielle/antibakterielle Wirkung der Zusammensetzung verstärken.
- Ausführliche Beschreibung der Erfindung
- Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf flüssige Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen, umfassend 1 bis 99, vorzugsweise 2 bis 85, stärker bevorzugt 3 bis 40 Gew. %, eines milden oberflächenaktiven Mittels, das allein oder die zusammen darauf getestet wurden, daß es/sie milder ist/sind als Seife selbst, wie durch den Zein-Solubilisierungstest gemessen (Seife ergab 80 % solubilisiertes Zein.
- Bevorzugt ist die Milde so, daß die Zein-Solubilisierung im Bereich von 10 bis 60 % Löslichmachung liegt.
- Eine Vielzahl an anionischen, nicht-ionischen, kationischen und amphoteren oberflächenaktiven Mitteln kann in dem oberflächenaktiven System der Erfindung angewendet werden, vorausgesetzt natürlich, daß das oberflächenaktive Mittel, wenn es allein verwendet wird, oder das Gemisch aus oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, milder ist, als es Seife selbst sein würde, wie durch den Zein-Solubilisierungstest gemessen.
- Unter geeigneten anionischen Co-Wirkstoffen befinden sich Alkylethersulfate, Acylisethionate, Alkylethersulfonate, Sarkosinate, Sulfosuccinate, Taurate und Kombinationen hiervon. Unter geeigneten amphoteren Co-Wirkstoffen können sich Alkylbetaine, Amidopropylbetaine, Amidopropylsultaine und Kombinationen hiervon befinden.
- Alkylethersulfate werden die allgemeine Formel R-(OCH2CH2)nOSO3-M+ aufweisen, worin R im Bereich von C8-C10-Alkyl liegt, vorzugsweise C12-C15-Alkyl, n eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 40 ist, vorzugsweise 2 bis 9, am günstigsten etwa 3, und M+ ein Natrium-, Kalium-, Ammonium- oder Triethanolammonium-Kation ist.
- Typische kommerzielle Co-Wirkstoffe dieser Art werden in der nachstehenden Tabelle aufgelistet:
- Alkylethersulfonate können für die vorliegende Erfindung ebenso verwendet werden. Veranschaulichend für diese Kategorie ist ein kommerzielles Produkt, bekannt als Avenel S-150, verbreitet bekannt als ein Natrium-C12-C15-Pareth-15-sulfonat.
- Eine andere Co-Wirkstoff-Art, die zur Verwendung geeignet ist, sind die Sulfosuccinate. Diese Kategorie wird am besten durch die Monoalkylsulfosuccinate mit der Formel RO2CCH2CH(SO3-Na+)COO-M+, und die Amido-MEA-sulfosuccinate der Formel: RCONHCH2CH2O2CCH2CH(SO3-M+)COO-M+ dargestellt, worin R im Bereich von C8-C20-Alkyl, vorzugsweise C12-C15-Alkyl liegt, und M+ ein Natrium-, Kalium-,Ammonium- oder ein Triethanolammonium-Kation ist. Typische kommerzielle Produkte, die für diese Co-Wirkstoffe repräsentativ sind, sind die, die in der nachstehenden Tabelle aufgelistet sind:
- Sarkosinate können in der vorliegenden Erfindung als ein Co-Wirkstoff ebenso anwendbar sein. Diese Kategorie wird durch die allgemeine Formel RCON(CH3)CH2CO2-M+ dargestellt, worin R im Bereich von C8-C20-Alkyl, vorzugsweise C12-C15-Alkyl liegt, und M+ ein Natrium-, Kalium-, Ammonium- oder ein Tritehanolammonium-Kation ist. Typische kommerzielle Produkte, die für diese Co-Wirkstoffe repräsentativ sind, sind die, die in der nachstehenden Tabelle aufgelistet werden:
- Taurate können in der vorliegenden Erfindung ebenso als Co-Wirkstoffe verwendet werden. Diese Materialien werden im allgemeinen durch die Formel RCONR'CH2CH2SO3-M+ dargestellt, worin R im Bereich von C8-C20-Alkyl, vorzugsweise C12-C15-Alkyl liegt, R' im Bereich von C1-C4-Alkyl liegt und M+ ein Natrium-, Kalium-, Ammonium- oder ein Tritehanolammonium-Kation ist. Typische kommerzielle Produkte, die für diese Co-Wirkstoffe repräsentativ sind, sind die, die in der nachstehenden Tabelle aufgelistet werden:
- In der Kategorie der Amphotere gibt es drei allgemeine Kategorien, die für die vorliegende Erfindung geeignet sind. Diese umfassen Alkylbetaine der Formel RN+(CH3)2CH2CO2-M+, Amidopropylbetaine der Formel RCONHCH2CH2CH2N+(CH3)2CH2CO2-M+ und Amidopropylsultaine der Formel RCONHCH2CH2N+(CH3)2CH2SO3-M+, worin R im Bereich von C8-C20-Alkyl, vorzugsweise C12-C15-Alkyl liegt, und M+ ein Natrium-, Kalium-, Ammonium- oder ein Tritehanolammonium-Kation ist. Typische kommerzielle Produkte, die für diese Co-Wirkstoffe repräsentativ sind, sind die, die in der nachstehenden Tabelle aufgelistet werden:
- In der breiten Kategorie der flüssigen Co-Wirkstoffe sind die effektivsten die Alkylsulfate, Alkylethersulfate, Alkylethersulfonate, Sulfosuccinate und Amidopropylbetaine.
-
- Andere oberflächenaktive Mittel, die verwendet werden können, sind die Monoalkyl- oder Dialkylphosphat-oberlächenaktiven Mittel.
- Ein noch anderes mildes oberflächenaktives Mittel, das verwendet werden kann, vorzugsweise als primäres oberflächenaktives Mittel in Kombination mit den oben angegebenen Co-Wirkstoffen, ist Natriumcocoglycerylethersulfonat (Natriumcoco-AGS). Während dieses Co-co-AGS aufgrund seiner Mildeeigenschaften wünschenswerterweise verwendet wird, liefert es allein keine optimale Seifenschaumcremigkeit. Für die Cremigkeit ist eine Natrium 90/10 Kokosnuß/Talg-Alkyl-AGS-Verteilung bevorzugt. Andere Salze als das Natriumsalz, wie TEA-,Ammonium- und K-AGS und andere Kettenlängenverteilungen als 90/10 Kokosnuß/Talg sind bei moderaten Niveaus verwendbar. Es kann ebenso etwas Seife zugegeben werde, um das Seifenschaumvolumen und die Schäumgeschwindigkeit zu verbessern. Bestimmte sekundäre Co-Tenside, die in Kombination mit AGS verwendet werden, können ebenso einen cremigeren und stabileren Schaum liefern. Diese sekundären oberflächenaktiven Mittel sollten ebenso im wesentlichen mild sein. Ein sekundäres oberflächenaktives Mittel, das als besonders geeignet befunden worden ist, ist Natriumlauroylsarkonsinat (zum Beispiel Hamposyl L, hergestellt von Hampshire Chemical).
- Die amphoteren Betaine und Sultaine, die oben angegeben wurden, können als das alleinige oberflächenaktive Mittel verwendet werden, werden aber stärker als ein Co-Tensid oder ein Co-Wirkstoff bevorzugt. Nicht-ionische Stoffe sollten in diesen Produkten im allgemeinen nicht als das alleinige oberflächenaktive Mittel verwendet werden, wenn Formung auf hohem Niveau gewünscht ist; sie können jedoch als ein Co-Tensid einbezogen werden.
- Nicht-ionische und kationische oberflächenaktive Mittel, die verwendet werden können, umfassen irgendeines derer, die in US-Patent Nr. 3,761,418 von Parran, Jr. beschrieben werden.
- Seifen können bei Niveaus von etwa 1 bis 10 % verwendet werden. Seifen können auch bei höheren Niveaus verwendet werden, vorausgesetzt, daß das Gemisch aus oberflächenaktiven Mitteln milder ist als Seife. Die Seifen können in reiner Form zugegeben werden oder in situ durch die Zugabe einer Base, zum Beispiel NaOH, zu einer freien Fettsäure hergestellt werden.
- Wie oben angemerkt, sollten Seifen als Co-Tenside selbstverständlich nur in dem Ausmaß verwendet werden, daß das oberflächenaktive System milder ist als Seife allein.
- Ein bevorzugtes oberflächenaktives System ist eines, in dem Acylisethionat 1 bis 15 Gew.-% der Gesamtzusammensetzung, ein anderer anionischer Stoff als Acylisethionat (zum Beispiel Ammoniumlaurylethersulfat) 1 bis 15 Gew.-% der Gesamtzusammensetzung und ein amphoterer Stoff 0,5 bis 15 Gew.-% der Gesamtzusammensetzung ausmachen.
- Pufferkomponente
- Die zweite wichtige Komponente der flüssigen Zusammensetzung der Erfindung ist die Verbindung oder die Verbindungen, die allein oder zusammen den pH der Formulierung unter Anwendungsbedingungen so puffern, daß der pH bis zu 5,0, vorzugsweise 3,0 bis zu 5,0, am stärksten bevorzugt 3,5 bis weniger als 5,0, beträgt.
- Unter Anwendung ist die Verdünnung von 1 : 0,5 bis 1 : 100, vorzugsweise 1 : 1 bis 1 : 25, des Produktes in Wasser während der Verwendung zu verstehen.
- Bevorzugte Verbindungen, die bei niedrigem pH puffern, sind kurzkettige Fettsäuren. Die Fettsäure kann eine unsubstituierte, gesättigte oder ungesättigte Fettsäure mit einer Kettenlänge von C4-C10 sein. Ohne sich an die Theorie zu binden, wird angenommen, daß längere Kettenlängen mit erhöhter Solubilisierung besser fuktionieren (zum Beispiel höhere Substitution). Im allgemeinen werden jedoch längere Kettenlängen bevorzugt. Die Fettsäure wird im allgemeinen etwa 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung ausmachen.
- In einer zweiten Ausführungsform der Erfindung umfassen die flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung ein antibakterielles Mittel. In dieser Ausführungsform der Erfindung können die oben beschriebenen Pufferverbindung oder -verbindungen an sich nicht nur antibakterielle Wirkung liefern, sondern ebenso die antibakterielle Wirkung des antibakteriellen Mittels erhöhen (verstärken).
- Das antibakterielle Mittel kann bei einem Niveau von etwa 0,001 bis etwa 5 Gew.-%, typischerweise von 0,01 bis 2 Gew.-% und bevorzugt von 0,01 bis 1,5 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung vorliegen. Das Niveau wird so ausgewählt, daß das gewünschte Niveau an antibakterieller Wirkung bereitgestellt wird und kann je nach Bedarf modifiziert werden. Das bevorzugte antibakterielle Mittel ist 2-Hydroxy-4,2',4'-trichlordiphenylether (DP300). Andere antibakterielle Mittel werden nahstehend angegeben. Viele antibakterielle Mittel, die dem Fachmann bekannt sind und beispielsweise in den US-Patenten Nr. 3,835,057 und 4,714,563 offenbart werden, können verwendet werden.
- Antimikrobiotika
- Geeignete antibakterielle Mittel, die in der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendet werden können, umfassen:
- 2-Hydroxy-4,2',4'-trichlordiphenylether (DP300);
- 2,6-Dimethyl-4-hydroxychlorbenzen (PCMX);
- 3,4,4'-Trichlorcarbanilid (TIC);
- 3-Trifluormethyl-4,4'-dichlorcarbanilid (TFC);
- 2,2'-Dihydroxy-3,3',5,5',6,6'-hexachlordiphenylmethan;
- 2,2'-Dihydroxy-3,3',5,5'-tetrachlordiphenylmethan;
- 2,2'-Dihydroxy-3,3'-dibrom-5,5'-dichlordiphenylmethan;
- 2-Hydroxy-4,4'-dichlordiphenylether;
- 2-Hydroxy-3,5',4-tribromdiphenylether und
- 1-Hydroxy-4-methyl-6-(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)-2(1H)-pyridinon (Octopirox).
- Andere geeignete Materialien umfassen:
- Benzalkoniumchlorid;
- Benzethoniumchlorid;
- Phenol;
- Cloflucarben (Irgasan CF3; 4,4'-Dichlor-3(trifluormethyl)carbanilid;
- Chlorhexidin (CHX; 1,6-Di(4'-chlorphenyl-diguanido)hexan);
- Cresylsäure;
- Hexetidin (5-Amino-1,3-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-5-methylhexahydropyrimidin);
- Iodophore;
- Methylbenzethoniumchlorid;
- Povidon-iod;
- Tetramethylthiuramdisulfid (TMTD; Thiram) und tribromiertes Salicylanilid.
- Zusätzlich zur milden oberflächenaktiven Verbindung oder Verbindungen , der pHpuffernden Verbindung oder Verbindungen, Wasser und gegebenenfalls (oder wie in einer Ausführungsform erforderlich), antimikrobiellem Mittel, können die flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen optionale Komponenten umfassen.
- Optionale Komponenten umfassen organische Lösungsmittel, wie Ethanol; Verdickungsmittel, wie Carboxymethylcellulose, Magnesiumaluminiumsilikat, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylcellulose oder Carbopole; Duftstoffe; Maskierungsmittel, wie Tetranatriumethylendiamintetraacetat (EDTA), EHDP oder Gemische in einer Menge von 0,01 bis 1 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,01 bis 0,05 Gew.-%; Färbemittel, Trübungsmittel und Perligmacher, wie Zinkstearat, Magnesiumstearat, TiO2, EGMS (Ethylenglycolmonostearat) oder Lytron 621 (Styren/Acrylat-Copolymer); von denen alle zur Erhöhung der Erscheinungs- oder kosmetischen Eigenschaften des Produktes nützlich sind. Die folgenden Konservierungsstoffe können in den flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzungen der Erfindung ebenso verwendet werden: Konservierungsstoffe des flüssigen Hautreinigers

- Antioxidationsmittel, wie zum Beispiel butyliertes Hydroxytoluen (BHT), können vorteilhafterweise in Mengen von etwa 0,01 Gew.-% oder höher, wenn geeignet, verwendet werden.

- Verdickungsmittel, die verwendet werden können, umfassen Americoll Polymer HM 1500 (Nonoxynyl Hydroethyl Cellulose); Glucan DOE 120 (PEG 120 Methylcglycosedioleat).
- Sofern nicht anders angegeben, beziehen sich die Prozentsätze in der Beschreibung, den Beispielen und den Ansprüchen auf das Gewicht.

- Für die Messung der antimikrobiellen Wirkung in den folgenden Beispielen wird der in-vitro bakterizidr Tötungstest verwendet. Das Verfahren für den Test wird nachstehend angegeben:
- In-vitro bakterizider Tötungstest
- Ein in-vitro bakterizider Tötungstest wird verwendet, um die antibakterielle Wirkung der Produkte auf Staphylococcus aureus ATCC #6538 während einer kurzen Kontaktzeit zu bestimmen. Ein Milliliter (etwa 108 Zellen) an Bakterien wurde für eine Minute einer 1 %igen Lösung aus einer flüssigen Hautreinigungszusammensetzung ausgesetzt. Die Probe wurde zu zusätzlichem Wasser zugegeben, gemischt und weiter in 0,1 % Pepton verdünnt. Gegenproben entsprechender Verdünnungen wurden auf einem Neutralisationsmedium angelegt. Außerdem wurde die Bakterienkultur angelegt, um die tatsächliche Anzahl von nicht okulierten Organismen zu bestimmen. Die Platten wurden bei 34 °C für 48 Stunden inkubiert und gezählt. Die CFU/ml (Kolonie-bildenden Einheiten pro Milliliter) aus den Verdünnungen mit Plattenzählungen im Bereich von 30 bis 300 wurden gemittelt, um die endgültigen CFU/ml zu erhalten.
- Die Ergebnisse können als der log der CFU/ml ausgedrückt werden. Die Kulturkontrolle zeigt die tatsächliche Anzahl der inokulierten Bakterien an, während die Wasserkontrolle die Anzahl der in Abwesenheit des Produktes rückgewonnen Organismen widerspiegelt. Je niedriger die Anzahl, um so effektiver hat die Lösung die Bakterien abgetötet.
- In diesem Assay ist ein Probenfehler von ungefähr 0,5 log wahrscheinlich, daher sind Unterschiede von 0,5 log zwischen den Produkten nicht signifikant. Im Ergebnis sollten die Daten im Hinblick auf Tendenzen angesehen werden und nicht als absolute Zahlen.
- Beispiel 1
- Die Anmelder testeten die Wirkung von 2 % Hexansäure in (1) Wasser; einer vollständig flüssigen Hautreinigungsformulierung, wie nachstehend angegeben, mit und ohne Triclosan (DP300). Die Ergebnisse werden in der
1 angegeben. - Die folgende Formulierung wurde verwendet:
- Wie aus
1 ersichtlich, erhöht die Hexansäure die antimikrobielle Wirkung in der gesamten Formulierung sowohl mit als auch ohne Triclosan. - Beispiel 2
- Zein-Solubilisierungs Assay
- In vitro „Milde"-Test/Einschätzen der Milde
- Allgemein wird angenommen, daß die oberflächenaktiven Mittel Reizstoffe sind, da sie die Hornschicht der Haut durchdringen und dann mit den inneren Zellen der Epidermis reagieren.
- Traditionellerweise war die Studie der perkutanen Absorption auf die Messung der Diffusion von Chemikalien durch die Hornschicht der Haut gerichtet.
- Wir haben Informationen auf die Mildepotentiale der Zusammensetzungen der Erfindung durch die Verwendung von In-vitro-Tests erhalten, von denen gezeigt wurde, daß sie mit Invitro-Tests gut korrellieren.
- Cotte in Proc. Int. Cong. Surface Active Subs., 4. Aufl. Brüssel (1964) 3, 83 bis 90 und Schwinger in Kolloid-Z.Z.Poly., (1969), 233, 898, haben gezeigt, daß die Fähigkeit, Zein, ein nicht lösliches Maisprotein, zu solubilisieren, mit dem Reizpotential gut korrelliert.
- Genauer gesagt, je größer die Zein-Solubilisierung, um so größer das Reizpotential einer Zusammensetzung.
- Um das Reizpotential zu testen, wurde eine 1 %ige Lösung (bezogen auf das Gewicht des Wirkstoffes) eines oberflächenaktiven Mittels (30 ml) zu 1,5 g Zein zugegeben und bei Raumtemperatur eine Stunde gerührt. Das resultierende Zein wurde durch Zentrifugation gesammelt und unter Vakuum auf ein konstantes Gewicht getrocknet. Unterschiede zwischen anfänglichen und restlichen Gewichten wurden verwendet, um den Prozentsatz an gelöstem Zein zu berechnen.
- Die Zeinauflösungswerte für einige Hautreinigungsformulierungen, die allgemein mit Seife verglichen wurden, werden nachstehend angegeben:
Seife (Ivory®) 82,4 % Dove® Beauty Bar 55,0 % Liquid Lever 2000® 41,9 % - Unter Verwendung des Zein-Solubilisierungs-Assays zeigten alle Formulierungen der Erfindung Prozentsätze, die gut unter dem von Seife liegen. Genauer gesagt wies die Zusammensetzung aus Beispiel 1 eine Löslichkeit von etwa 28 % auf. Wenn eine Octansäure verwendet wurde, betrug die Löslichkeit etwa 31 %.
- Beispiel 3
- Um die Wirkung der Kettenlänge auf die antibakterielle Wirkung der Verbindung oder der Verbindungen der Erfindung zu sehen, testeten die Anmelder verschiedene gesättigte und ungesättigte C2-C20-Fettsäuren in der flüssigen Reinigungsformulierung aus Beispiel 1, um deren Wirkung zu bestimmen. Die Ergebnisse werden in der
2 angegeben. - Wie aus
2 ersichtlich ist, führt eine kürzere Kettenlänge zu erhöhter antibakterieller Wirkung. CFU steht für Kolonie-bildende Einheiten und eine Verringerung der CFU/ml ist zu einer höheren antibakteriellen Wirkung äquivalent. - Beispiel 4
- Hexansäure wurde zu der flüssigen Reinigungsformulierung aus Beispiel 1 bei verschiedenen Konzentrationen zugegeben, um die Konzentrationswirkung auf die antibakterielle Wirkung zu bestimmen. Die Ergebnisse werden
3 gezeigt. - Wie aus
3 ersichtlich, ist eine Wirkung bei Konzentrationen bei mindestens 0,5 % zu sehen. - Beispiel 5
- Um die pH-Wirkung zu bestimmen, wurde Hexansäure bei verschiedenen pH-Bereichen zu der Formulierung aus Beispiel 1 zugegeben. Der pH der flüssigen Reinigungsformulierung aus Beispiel 1 wurde unter Verwendung von 1N HCl oder NaOH eingestellt.
- Wie in
4 zu sehen, wird die antibakterielle Wirkung bei einem pH unter 5 signifikant erhöht. - Beispiel 6
- In diesem Beispiel wurde die Wirkung von Hexansäure in kommerziell erhältlichen Zusammensetzungen getestet. Die Ergebnisse werden in
5 angegeben. Zusammensetzung 1 war die Zusammensetzung aus Beispiel 1. - Die berechnete Zusammensetzung oder die Liste von Inhaltsstoffen für die kommerziell erhältlichen Zusammensetzungen in

- Wie aus der Figur zu erkennen ist, arbeitet die Hexansäure in verschiedenen unterschiedlichen Zusammensetzungen effektiv, ob nun ein Germizid vorhanden war oder nicht.
- Beispiel 7
- Um zu bestimmen, ob die Pufferverbindung oder -verbindungen der Erfindung eine negative Wirkung; auf die Schaumhöhe hatten, wurde die Zusammensetzung aus Beispiel 1 mit verschiedenen Fettsäuren getestet. Die Schaumhöhe wurde durch das in ASTM D1173-53 beschriebene Verfahren in der vorliegenden Anmeldung gemessen. Bevorzugter wird die Schäumfähigkeit von 1 %igen flüssigen Hautreinigungsformulierungen durch das Tropfen von 200 ml einer Lösung aus einer Miles-Pipette auf 50 ml der Lösung in einen Glaszylinder, wie in ASTM D1173-53 beschrieben, gemessen. Die Schaumhöhe-Ablesungen wurden nach einer Minute bei 25 °C vorgenommen. Wie in
6 ersichtlich, blieb die Schaumhöhe fast immer gleich. - Beispiel 8

Claims (5)
- Hautreinigungszusammensetzung, umfassend: (1) 1 bis 99 Gew.-% eines oberflächenaktiven Systems, umfassend ein oder mehrere oberflächenaktive Mittel, die allein oder zusammen milder sind als Seife selbst, wenn bezogen auf Prozent an gelöstem Zein gemessen wird; (2) 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-% einer Verbindung oder von Verbindungen, die den pH der Zusammensetzung so puffern, daß der pH bei Verdünnung mit Wasser bei Bereichen von 1 : 0,5 bis 1 : 100 Verdünnung zwischen 3,0 und 5,0 liegt, wobei die pH-puffernde Verbindung ausgewählt ist aus: (a) unsubstituierten, gesättigten oder ungesättigten C4-C10-Fettsäuren; und (3) 1 bis 99 Gew.-% Wasser.
- Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, die ferner 0,001 bis 5 Gew.-% eines antibakteriellen Mittels umfaßt.
- Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei das oberflächenaktive System 2 bis 85 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung ausmacht.
- Zusammensetzung nach einem der vorherigen Ansprüche, wobei das oberflächenaktive System 1 bis 15 Gew.-% Acylisethionat umfaßt.
- Zusammensetzung nach einem der vorherigen Ansprüche, wobei die pH-puffernde Verbindung Hexansäure ist.
