Description

  • Verfahren zum Engermachen von Wäschestücken. Es hat sich in letzter Zeit das Bedürfnis herausgestellt, Wäsche, die sich beim Tragen als zu weit erwiesen bat, enger- zu machen. Bisher ist , nichts über chemisch-technische Verfahren zum Engermachen -von derartiger Wäsche bekanntgeworden. Es wurde nun beobachtet, daß durch die Behandlung - von Wäsche aus pflanzlichen Fasern mit Natronlauge in solcher Konzentration und bei Temperaturen, wie sie beim Mercerisationsprozeß üblich sind, die Faser einschrumpft, und daß dadurch die gewünschte. Verengerung der Wäschestücke eintritt. Von besonderem Vorteil ist dabei, daß die Einschrumpfung abgestimmt werden kann, und zwar durch Regelung der Temperatur und der Zeitdauer einerseits, und anderseits.durch bestimmte an sich bekannte. Zusätze, wie Glykol, Glyzerin tsw., zur Natronlauge.
  • Die Ausübung des Verfahrens gestaltet sich sehr einfach. Das Wäschestück, z. B. der Kragen, wird mit Natronlauge von 25° Be einige Minutenlang kalt behandelt, herausgenommen, abgequetscht, evtl. - geschleudert und dann gespült. Statt Natronlauge kann man auch ähnlich wirkende Mittel, wie Kalilauge, Schwefelnatrium, Aluminate und Zinkate, verwenden: Es ist bekannt, daß "baumwollene Gewebe durch-den bekannten Mercerisationsprözeß in Länge und Breite gekürzt werden: Neu ist aber die Anwendung dieses Verfahrens zum Engermachen von Wäschestücken,- welche meist aus Leinen bestehen. Sie bedeutet auch, besonders bei der jetzigen Wäscheknappheit, einen wichtigen technischen Fortschritt.

Claims (1)

  1. PATENTANSPRUCH Verfahren zum Engermachen von Wäschestücken, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man sie mit starker Natronlauge oder ähnlich- wirkenden Substanzen, zu denen evtl. noch Mittel, welche die Einschrumpfung vermindern, zugesetzt worden sind, behandelt.
