Die Umsetzung der Aldehyde mit den Aminen erfolgt zweckmässig durch Erhitzen in einem organischen Lösungsmittel...
Als kupferabgebende Mittel verwendet man vorzugsweise die Salze des zweiwertigen Kupfers, beispielsweise Kupferchlorid,
Kupfersulfat und insbesondere Kupferacetat. Geht man von den ο'-Hydroxy-o-alkoxy-azomethinen aus, so findet gleichzeitig
mit der Kupferung eine Entalkylierung statt. In diesem Falle findet die Reaktion zweckmässig in einem organischen
Lösungsmittel, beispielsweise Glycolmonomethyl- oder -äthyläther, Dimethylformamid oder N-Methylpyrrolidon, bei Temperaturen
Über 10O0C, vorzugsweise zwischen 140 bis 1800C, statt.
Dank ihrer Unlöslichkeit im Reaktionsmedium können die Kupferkomplexe durch Filtrieren isoliert werden.
Die neuen Farbstoffe stellen wertvolle Pigmente dar,
welche in feinverteilter Form zum Pigmentieren von hochmolekularem organischem Material verwendet werden können, z.B.
Celluloseethern und -estern, wie Aethylcellulose, Nitrocellulose j Celluloseacetat, Cellulosebutyrat, Superpolyamiden bzw.
Superpolyurethanen oder Polyestern, natürlichen Harzen oder ,Kunstharzen, wie Polymerisationsharzen oder Kondensationsharzen, z.B. Aminoplasten, insbesondere Harnstoff- und MeI-amin-Formaldehydharzen,
Alkydharzen, Phenoplasten, Polycarbonaten, Polyolefinen, wie Polystyrol, Polyvinylchlorid,
Polyäthylen, Polypropylen, Polyacrylnitril, Polyacrylsäureester, Gummi, Casein, Silikon und Silikonharzen, einzeln oder
in Mischungen.

Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob die erwähnten hochmolekularen Verbindungen als plastische Massen, Schmelzen oder
in Form von Spinnlösungen, Lacken,Anstrichstoffen oder Druckfarben
vorliegen. Je nach Verwendungszweck erweist es sich als vorteilhaft, die neuen Pigmente als Toner oder in Form von
'■Präparaten zu verwenden.
Die neuen Farbstoffe zeichnen sich durch hervorragende Lichtechtheit, insbesondere in Lacken und auf Tiefdrucken,
eine ausgezeichnete Migrations-, Ueberlackier- und Wetterechtheit
aus.
In den nachfolgenden Beispielen bedeuten die Teile, sofern nichts anderes angegeben wird, Gewichtsteile, die
Prozente Gewichtsprozente, und die Temperaturen sind in Celsiusgraden angegeben.

18,0 Teile ^Acetylamino^-amino-l-methoxybenzol und
12,2 Teile Salicylaldehyd werden in 100 Volumenteilen Glykolmonomethyläther
auf 120° erhitzt, 1 Stünde bei dieser Temperatur gerührt, dann auf 85° abkühlen gelassen. Nun wird mit
10 Volumenteilen Alkohol-Wasser (1:1) und dann mit 100 Volumenteilen Wasser verdünnt, auf 25° abgekühlt und der ausgefallene
gelbe Niederschlag abgesaugt. Der Rückstand wird mit Alkohol-Wasser
(1:1) und mit destilliertem Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet.
Das so erhaltene gelbe Kristallpulver (21,2 Teile oder 75% der Theorie) schmilzt bei 166 bis 167°.
8,5 Teile dieses Produktes und 6,0 Teile Kupfer-II-acetatmonohydrat
werden in 100 Volumenteilen Glyko 1-monome thy 1-äther-Dimethylformamid
(l:l) unter kräftigem Rühren auf 135° erhitzt, 2,5 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gerührt, auf 50° abkühlen
gelassen und-warm abgesaugt. Das Nutschgut wird nacheinander
mit einer 1:1-Misehung aus Glyko1-monomethyläther
und Dimethylformamid, Methanol, destilliertem Wasser und nochmals mit Methanol gewaschen und getrocknet. Das1 erhaltene Pigment
stellt ein hellgrünes Pulver dar und entspricht der Formel

Die Ausbeute beträgt 7,0 Teile (70% der Theorie),
Der neue Kupferkomplex färbt Polyvinylchlorid in grün-gelben Tönen von sehr guter Licht- und Migrationsechtheit.
4-Acetylamino-2-amino-l-niethoxybenzol kann wie folgt
hergestellt werden:
1. 4-Acetylamino-2-nitro-anisol
48 Teile 70%-iges 4-Amlno-2-nitro-anisol werden in 350 Volumenteilen Chlorbenzol und 31 Volumenteilen Pyridin
gelöst und mit 18,8 Teilen Acetylchlorid versetzt. Die Temperatur steigt dabei auf 60°. Die schwarze Lösung wird 3 Stunden
bei 95° gerührt und auf Raumtemperatur abkühlen gelassen. Der dabei ausgefallene Niederschlag wird abgesaugt, mit Petroläther,
Alkohol-Wasser (1:1) und heissem Wasser gewaschen und
getrocknet. Man erhält 29,4 Teile (70% der Theorie) eines gelben Pulvers vom Schmelzpunkt 147 bis 148 .
2. 4-Acetylamino-2-amino-anisol
Man suspendiert 21 Teile 4-Acetylamino-2-nitroanisol in 300 Volumenteilen absolutem Alkohol und hydriert
mit Wasserstoff und Raney-Nickel während 13 Stunden bei

25-50 . Die entstandene Lösung wird vom Raney-Nickel
filtriert, mit 4000 Volumentellen Petrolather verdünnt, der ausgefallene Niederschlag abgenutscht und im Vakuum
getrocknet. Er stellt ein graues Kristallpulver dar, das bei 102 bis 103° schmilzt. Die Ausbeute beträgt
15,8 Teile (88% der Theorie). ' . · ' '

teilen Glykol-monomethyläther auf 120 erhitzt, 2 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gerUhrt und abgekühlt. Der entstandene
ockergelbe Niederschlag wird abgesaugt, mit je 300 Volumenteilen Alkohol und destilliertem Wasser gewaschen
und getrocknet. Man erhält 9,5 Teile (77% der Theorie) eines ockergelben Pulvers vom Schmelzpunkt 245
bis 247°.

9,4 Teile dieses Produktes und 4,4 Teile Kupfer-Xl-aeetatmonohydrat
werden in 80 Volumenteilen Glykolmonomethyläther- dimethylformamid (1:1) unter kräftigem
Rühren auf 132° erhitzt, 2,5 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gerührt und heiss abgenutscht. Das Nütsehgut wird
nacheinander mit Dimethylformamid, Methanol, destilliertem Wasser und nochmals mit Methanol, gewaschen und getrocknet.
Das erhaltene Pigment stellt ein khakifarbenes Pulver dar und entspricht der Formel

Die Ausbeute beträgt 7,2 Teile (70% der Theorie). Der neue Kupferkomplex färbt Polyvinylchlorid in gelben
Tönen von sehr guter Licht- und Migrationsechtheit.
9,0 Teile 4-Acetylamino-2-amino-anisol und 10,1
Teile l-Phenyl-S-methyl^-formyl-pyrazolon-(5) werden
in 100 Volumenteilen Glykol-monomethyläther analog Beispiel 1 umgesetzt. Man erhält 17,1 Teile (94% der

10,9 Teile dieses Produktes und 6,0 Teile Kupfer-Il-acetatmonohydrat
werden in 100 Volumenteilen eines Gemisches bestehend aus Glykolmonomethylättier und Dimethylformamid
im Volumenverhältnis 1:1 gemäss Beispiel 1 entmethylierend
gekupfert. Das erhaltene Pigment der Formel
OCCM,
färbt Polyvinylchlorid in sehr grünstichig-gelben Tönen
von guter Licht- und Migrationsechtheit.
9 Teile 2-Amino-4-acetylamino-anisol, 9,6 Teile
3,5-Diehlorsalicylaldehyd und 10 Teile Kupferrll-acetatmonohydrat
werden in 160 Volumenteilen eines Gemisches bestehend aus Glykolmonomethyläther und Dimethylformamid
im Volumenverhältnis 1:1 unter kräftigem Rühren auf 130° erhitzt, 3 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gerührt, auf
110 abkühlen gelassen und heiss abgesaugt. Das Nutschgut
wird nacheinander mit D5.methylformanid, Methanol und
heissem Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Das erhaltene Pigment stellt ein hellgrünes Pulver dar und entspricht
der Formel

Die Ausbeute beträgt 12,3 Teile. Der neue Kupferkomplex färbt Polyvinylchlorid in gelben Tönen von sehr guter
Licht- und Migrationsechtheit.
In der folgenden Tabelle sind weitere Farbstoffe angeführt, die auf dem angezeigten Weg erhalten werden.
Kolonne I gibt den Aldehyd, Kolonne II die anstelle des 4- Acetylamino -2-amino-anisols verwendete Base und Kolonne
III den Farbton der mit dem Kupferkomplex gefärbten Polyvinylchloridfolie an.

Das A-Benzoylamino-2-amino-anisol kann wie folgt
dargestellt werden:
1. 4-Benzoylamino-2-nitro-anisol
38,6 Teile 87%-iges 4-Amino-2-nitro-anisol werden in 350 Volumenteilen Chlorbenzol und 31 Volumenteilen
Pyridin gelöst und mit 33,5 Teilen Benzoylchlorid versetzt. Die Temperatur steigt dabei auf 55°. Die schwarze
Lösung wird 3 Stunden bei 95 gerührt und Unter Rühren auf Raumtemperatur abkühlen gelassen. Der dabei ausgefallene
Niederschlag wird abgesaugt, mit Petroläther, Alkohol-r
Wasser (1:1) und heissem Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Man erhält 49,2 Teile (90% der Theorie) eines khakifarbenen
Kristallpulvers vom Schmelzpunkt 141 bis 143°.
2. 4-Benzoylamino- 2- amino-anisol
Man suspendiert 40,8 Teile 4-Benzoylamino-2-nitroanisol in 400 Volumenteilen absoluten Alkohols und
hydriert mit Wasserstoff und Raney-Nickel während 4 Stunden
bei 25°. Die entstandene Lösung wird vom Raney-Nickel filtriert, mit 1400 Volumenteilen Wasser verdünnt, der
ausgefallene Niederschlag abgenutscht und im Vakuum getrocknet. Das Produkt stellt ein graues Pulver dar, das
bei 135 bis 136° schmilzt. Die Ausbeute beträgt 30,9 Teile (857o der Theorie).

Beispiel 27 , '
10 g TiiaiMÜioxydl und 2 g des nach Beispiel 1 laerge- stellten
Pigmentes wurden mit SS g einer Mischung von 26,4 g
lcdkosalfcydharza 2430 g Melamin-Formaldehydharz (5öX Festk'örpergehalt)
, 8.s 8 g Äetnylengl5'rlcDlinonomethylMt32er land 28,8 g
Xylol 'während 48 Stunden in einer Kugelmühle geinalhlen.
Ein Lackfilm T^urde auf Karton aufgetragen und während
30 Minuten bei 120° eingebrannt. ,
Die Ue"berlaeklerungsechthelt wurde bestimrats Indem
man den PiIm auf dem Karton mit einem weis sen Lack über lackierte,
der 20% Titandloxyd enthielt, und man brannte während 30 Minuten bei 120° erneut ein. Die entstehende Färbung des
weissen Films -wurde dann bewertet. Die Hitzestabilität wurde
bestimmt, nachdem man Proben der Lackfilme 30 Minuten bei 120° und 15 Minuten bei 180° nochmals einbrannte. Die Lichtechtheit
wurde bestimmt, indem man die Probe dem Licht einer Xenon-Bogenlampe
aussetzte, durch Vergleich mit der Blue Wool Scale [British Standard 1006 (1961)]. Es wurde gefunden, dass die
Lichtechtheit, die HitzeStabilität und die Ueberlacklerungsechtheit
ausgezeichnet sind.

Der Dihydroxyazomethin-kupfer-II-kompley gemäss
Beispiel 1 wurde in eine Emulsionsfarbe eingearbeitet.
Eine Paste wurde gebildet, die aus 20 Teilen des Pigments, 80 Teilen Wasser und 2,5 Teilen Natriumdinaphtylmethandisulfonat
bestand und 48 Stunden mit 60 Teilen groben Quarzsandes vermählen. Der Sand wurde durch Absieben ent-

fernt. 0,3 Teile dieser Paste wurden mit 30 Teilen Polyvinylacetatemulsion
vermischt und gertlhrt, bis man eine homogene
Mischung erhielt, und ein Film dieser Probe wurde auf Karton aufgebracht. Man erhielt eine hellgelbe Pigmentierung mit
ausgezeichneten Eigenschaften.
15 Teile des Produktes gemäss Beispiel 1 wurden in 500 Teile Dimethylformamid eingerührt bis eine gleichmässige
Dispersion erhalten wurde. Diese Dispersion wurde, mit 8000 Teilen Dimethylformamid verdünnt. Zu dieser Dispersion gab
man 1500 Teile Polyacrylnitrilpulver und rührte die Mischung mit hoher Geschwindigkeit bis man einen gleichmässigen Lack
erhielt.

Nach der Luftentfernung war der Lack geeignet zur Herstellung von Folien und Filamenten, da das Pigment in hochdispergierter
Form vorlag und man keine grossen Teilchen sehen konnte. Man zog Folien von einer Dicke von 0,05 cm (20/1000 inch) auf
Glas und trocknete sofort 15 Minuten bei 120°. Man erhielt so helle, feste, transparente gelbe Folien, die ausgezeichnete
Lichtechtheit aufwiesen. .
65 Teile stabilisiertes Polyvinylchlorid, 35 Teile Dioctylphtalat und 0,2 Teile des gemäss Beispiel 1, Absatz 2,
erhaltenen Farbstoffes wurden miteinander verrührt und dann auf einem Zweiwalzenkalander während 7 Minuten bei 140° hin-·
und hergewalzt. Man erhielt eine gelb gefärbte Folie von sehr guter Licht- und Migrationsechtheit.

Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man von einer Schiff'sehen Base der FormelNHCOR1angeht, worin R-, eine Alkyl- oder Alkoxygruppe enthaltend 1-4 C-Atome, eine gegebenenfalls durch Halogenatome, Alkyl- oder Alkoxygruppen enthaltend 1-4 C-Atome substituierte Benzvl·-, Phenyläthyl-, Styryl-j Phenylaminogruppe oder einen heterocyclischen Rest, X, und Y.,, Z, und Z2 Wasserstoff- oder Halogenatome, Alkyl- öder Alkoxygruppen, enthaltend 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatome,' oder Nitrogruppen bedeuten.6. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man von einer Schiff'sehen Base der Formel30982 0/1054ausgeht, worin X- und Y, die. angegebene Bedeutung haben, R-2 eine Alkyl- oder Alkoxygruppe enthaltend 1-4 C-Atome, eine gegebenenfalls durch Halogenatome, Alkyl- oder Alkoxygruppen enthaltend 1-4 C-Atome substituierte Phenyl-, Benzyl-, Phenyläthyl-, Styryl- oder Phenylaminogruppe oder einen heterocyclischen Rest bedeuten.7. Verfahren gemäss den Ansprüchen 4-6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man als kupferabgebendes Mittel ein Salz des zweiwertigen Kupfers verwendet,8. Verfahren gemäss den Ansprüchen 4-7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Kupferung in einem inerten organischen Lösungsmittel durchfuhrt.9. Verfahren zum Pigmentieren von hochmolekularem organischem Material, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung der Farbstoffe gemäss den Ansprüchen 1 bis 3.10.
