Background
Blood orange (New scientific name: Citrus sinensis 'blood orange') is a cultivar plant of sweet orange of the genus Citrus of the family Rutaceae. The branches of the arbor have few thorns or nearly no thorns. The leaves are usually slightly smaller than the pomelo leaves, the winged leaves are slender, the leaves are oval or oval, the leaves are rarely needle-shaped, the flowers are white, the back of the leaves is rarely purplish red, the inflorescence has a small number of flowers, the fruit is spherical, oblate or oval, the fruit is orange-red, the fruit peel is difficult to peel or is easy to peel, the color of the mesocarp is red or dark purple-red, but the immature fruit is not colored, the fruit center is full or semi-full, and the fruit pulp is orange-red or purple-red when mature, sweet or slightly sour. Blood orange is responsible for north africa and south europe of the mediterranean coastal countries. There are a lot of cultivations in every part of China. The main producing areas in China are Sichuan and Jiangxi. Blood oranges are warm, light and wet but not resistant to waterlogging.
Because the water and fertilizer are very important in the planting process of the blood oranges, the water and fertilizer are not properly managed, the growth of plants is not facilitated, and the yield of the blood oranges is also influenced; according to the traditional planting method, a planting hole is formed in a planting ground, a certain amount of base fertilizer is paved in the planting hole, and seedlings are planted on the planting hole after a soil layer is covered; in the later management, the special water and fertilizer management basically depends on manual fertilization, and a large amount of labor force is consumed; and slope planting is not beneficial to water and fertilizer retention, so that water and fertilizer loss is large, particularly in a zone with poor planting field, soil is not improved, the fertility of soil in the later period is insufficient, the nutritional requirement of blood orange plants is difficult to maintain, and in addition, a large amount of chemical fertilizer is applied in the fertilizing process, so that soil hardening is easily caused, the growth and the result of blood oranges are influenced, and the yield of blood orange fruits is not high.
