UE111和112的示例包括蜂窝电话(例如,智能电话)、平板、电子阅读器(例如,电子书阅读器)、膝上型计算机、台式计算机、个人计算机、服务器、个人数字助理(PDA)、web装置、机顶盒(STB)、网络路由器、网络交换机、网桥、停车计时器、传感器以及其他设备。这些示例设备中的一些设备(例如,停车计时器)可以包括机器型通信(MTC)设备。MTC设备可能不需要用户交互来启动与网络(例如,无线通信网络100)的通信。
Node-B102可以作为地理区域(例如,无线通信网络100中的小区104)中的服务Node-B进行操作。图1示出了仅包括一个Node-B(例如,Node-B102)作为示例的无线通信网络100。然而,无线通信网络100可以包括多个Node-B(例如,类似于或等同于Node-B102的多个eNodeB)或者eNodeB等。多个Node-B中的每个Node-B可以为无线通信网络100中的特定小区服务,并且可以与Node-B102相邻或者可以不与Node-B102相邻。

Node-B102可以在下行连接114上与UE111和112进行通信,并且UE111和112可以在上行连接116上与Node-B102进行通信。上行116和下行114中的载波频率由绝对射频信道号(ARFCN)来标示。UE111和112以及Node-B102还可以各自支持3GPPLTE通信。Node-B102可以提供系统信息块(SIB)19(SIB-19)信号(例如,本文稍后将描述的“E-UTRA频率和优先级信息列表”信息要素),UE111或112将使用该SIB19来针对LTE进行潜在小区重选。
3GPP无线电接入网络(RAN)工作组目前已经引入对长期演进(LTE)网络的E-UTRA频带和演进型ARFCN(EARFCN)的扩展值范围的支持,从而支持对E-UTRA频带的不断增长的需求。EARFCN的传统值范围包括处于范围0-65535中的值,并且E-UTRA操作频带的传统值范围包括处于范围1-64中的值。EARFCN的扩展值范围包括处于65536-262143范围中的值,并且E-UTRA操作频带的扩展值范围包括处于范围65-256中的值,然而,实施例不应被理解为被限于针对EARFCN或E-UTRA操作频带的任何特定范围。
如果小区104的绝对频率落入多个重叠频带中,则MFSI信令允许Node-B(例如,Node-B102)在多于一个频带中进行广播。然而,在一些UMTS系统中,至少对于在SIB-19中的无线电资源控制(RRC)信令中通过信号发送的扩展EARFCN范围和扩展E-UTRA操作频带范围,MFBI支持存在模糊性和低效率问题。
例如,根据当前的RRC规范,3GPPTS25.331§10.3.7.115中给定的对信息要素(IE)“E-UTRA频率和优先级信息列表”的表格描述引用了不同于3GPPTS25.331§8.6.7.3c中所规定的对该IE的过程描述的IE。表格描述规定IE“多E-UTRA频率信息列表”和IE“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”的每个条目对应于“E-UTRA频率和优先级”IE中的条目。该关系在图2中以图例形式示出。从图2中可以看出,根据表格描述,来自传统202或扩展204E-UTRA频带范围C和D的MFBI信令不可能用于扩展EARFCN范围B。应当理解,图2(以及本文稍后将描述的图3)仅描绘了“E-UTRA频率和优先级”、“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”、“多E-UTRA频率信息列表”以及“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”的相关顶级IE以及由这些IE覆盖的EARFCN和E-UTRA频带的值范围,这些IE的其他字段、值或部分可被规定于3GPP标准族中的当前和未来版本的标准中。

在实施例中,Node-B102将通过信号发送IE“可适用EARFCN的数目”。UE111或112随后将基于IE“可适用EARFCN的数目”中所发送的值来连结IE“E-UTRA频率和优先级”(如框602和604中所示)和“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”(由框606、608和610所示)。换言之,IE“可适用EARFCN的数目”中所发送的值指的是IE“E-UTRA频率和优先级”的发生数目,并且IE“maxNumEUTRAFreqs”所表示的值减去IE“可适用EARFCN的数目”中所指明的值指的是IE“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”的最大发生数目。因此,在图6所示的示例中,应当理解的是,“可适用EARFCN的数目”等于2,以使得使用两个“E-UTRA频率和优先级”IE,并且IE“maxNumEUTRAFreqs”至少为五,以使得可以使用三个“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”IE。
此外,IE“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”612在一些实施例中将被首先考虑,从而提供“E-UTRA频率和优先级”和“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”的值。仅当“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”612中的列表要素被设置为空缺(例如,列表要素614、616、618和620)时,来自“多E-UTRA频率信息列表”626的相应条目(例如,列表要素622和624)被合并并且被用于生成经连结的“E-UTRA频率和优先级”和“U-UTRA频率和优先级扩展”列表中的条目。从图6中可看出,本文所描述的实施例将消除传统IE中使用EARFCN的预留值65535和E-UTRA频带的预留值64的需要,从而引用相应的扩展EARFCN和E-UTRA频带IE。尽管“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”被示出为不具有传统信息,但应当理解的是,在一些实施例中,“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”可以包括传统信息。类似地,除了或者代替传统信息,“多E-UTRA频率信息列表”可以包括扩展信息。

在一个实施例中,UE700接收包括MFBI列表的MFBI信令,如先前针对图5所描述的。MFBI列表包括对应于E-UTRA频带的要素,其中相邻LTE小区在该E-UTRA频带上进行操作。MFBI列表可以包括根据3GPP标准族中的标准定义的“多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表”和根据3GPP标准族中的标准定义的“多E-UTRA频率信息列表”中的一者或者两者。两个列表均可被用于通过信号通知与先前针对图5所描述的“E-UTRA频率和优先级列表”IE或“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展列表”IE中的条目相对应的重叠E-UTRA频带。如本文先前所描述的,“E-UTRA频率和优先级列表”和“E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展列表”中的每个条目定义EARFCN值和相应EARFCN的优先级值。

Node-B800可以发送MFBI信令,该MFBI信令被包括在上述“E-UTRA频率和优先级信息列表”中。天线701、801可以包括一个或多个定向或全向天线,例如包括偶极天线、单极天线、贴片式天线、环形天线、微带天线或适于传输RF信号的其他类型的天线。在一些多输入多输出(MIMO)实施例中,天线701、801可以被有效分离,从而获得空间分集的优势,并且可以得到不同的信道特性。

1.一种支持网络中多频带信令的用户设备(UE),所述UE包括收发器和处理电路,用于:

17.根据权利要求16所述的非暂态机器可读介质,其中所述MFBI列表包括根据第三代合作伙伴项目(3GPP)标准族中的标准定义的多E-UTRA频率信息列表,并且其中对应于至少一个E-UTRA频带的值处于1-64的范围之内。
18.根据权利要求16所述的非暂态机器可读介质,其中所述MFBI列表除了包括所述多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表,还包括根据第三代合作伙伴项目(3GPP)标准族中的标准定义的多E-UTRA频率信息列表,并且其中所述多E-UTRA频率信息列表中的值处于1-64的范围之内。
19.一种支持网络中多频带信令的方法,该方法包括:
接收多频带指示符(MFBI)信令,该MFBI信令包括MFBI列表,该MFBI列表包括对应于演进型通用陆地无线电接入(E-UTRA)频带的列表要素,其中相邻LTE小区在该E-UTRA频带上进行操作;以及
基于所述MFBI列表的列表要素中的信息来连接到相邻LTE小区。
20.根据权利要求19所述的方法,其中:
所述MFBI列表中的每个要素对应于E-UTRA频率和优先级列表或E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展列表中的条目;
所述E-UTRA频率和优先级列表和所述E-UTRA频率和优先级扩展列表中的每个条目定义演进型绝对射频信道号(EARFCN)值和相应EARFCN的优先级值;以及
所述MFBI列表包括根据第三代合作伙伴项目(3GPP)标准族中的标准定义的多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表和多E-UTRA频率信息列表,并且该方法还包括:如果多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表要素未被设置为指示该多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表要素为空缺的占位符值,则基于该多E-UTRA频率信息扩展列表要素来选择要用于相应E-UTRA频带的值,否则,基于多E-UTRA频率信息列表要素来选择值。
