Abstract

技术领域
本发明一般涉及针对路况自动调节最大速度限制值,并且涉及自动将车辆的速度降低到经调节的限制之下。
背景技术
电子路侧标志被设置来公告速度限制。由于标志可由远程设施控制,因此,可以容易地改变所公告的速度限制。然而,如在这里所明白的,这些标志相对较大并且需要大量基础设施和成本。
发明内容
一种可以被运载在车辆中的移动计算机被配置来接收位置信息。该计算机还可以被配置为传送与位置信息相关联并且考虑到路况而被调节的速度限制,以使得车辆自动地将速度降低到经调节的最大限制之下。
该移动计算机可以被配置来访问速度限制数据库。其还可以被配置来与路况的发送者通信并且从其接收路况。该计算机可以被配置为将规则应用到路况并且输出与位置信息相关联的经调节的速度限制。
或者,该计算机可以被配置为从基站接收针对路况而调节的速度限制。为此,可以在计算机中设置高级电视系统委员会(ATSC)调谐器。
另一方面,一种有形计算机存储介质可由处理器读取来:响应于通过应用与路况有关的规则而修改的速度上限,自动地限制车辆最大速度,以使得车辆能够以上至但不超过速度上限的任何速度行驶。
在又一方面,一种方法包括:接收地理位置,以及访问速度限制数据库以确定与地理信息相关联的标称(nominal)速度限制。该方法还包括:针对速度限制而访问当前路况信息。如果当前路况信息成为调低速度限制的根据,则调低速度限制以呈递经修改的速度限制。

具体实施方式
首先参考图1,总地标示为10的移动计算机被示出,该移动计算机包括处理器12和有形的数字存储介质14,该有形的数字存储介质14可以是但不限于磁或光盘驱动器、诸如随机存取存储器或只读存储器或闪存之类的固态设备、可移除记忆棒介质(stick medium)或可移除软盘等。介质14和处理器12可以被存放在如与显示屏18一起示出的计算机外壳16中,显示屏18例如是但不限于高清晰(HD)矩阵显示屏或标准清晰阴极射线管显示屏。处理器12可以向显示屏18以及向一个或多个音频扬声器20输出信号,并且其可以从诸如小键盘、键盘、鼠标等中的一种或多种的输入设备22接收输入。
如图1所示,在一些实施例中,移动计算机10还可以包括向处理器12输入位置信号的诸如全球定位卫星(GPS)接收机之类的位置接收机24。移动计算机10的一些实施例还可以包括单向接收机26,例如是但不限于高级电视系统委员会(ATSC)调谐器。处理器12可以使来自接收机26的信号被呈现在显示屏18上。在所示实施例中,为了简略地进行公开的目的,ATSC接收机26还可以接收非视频数据。
在图1所示的非限制性实施方式中,移动计算机10另外包括远距离无线收发机28,例如WiFi收发机、WIMAX收发机,或者诸如全球移动通信系统(GSM)收发机、码分多址(CDMA)收发机之类的电话收发机或者变体等等。收发机28与处理器12通信。
在一些实施例中,移动计算机10还可以包括蓝牙收发机30或者用于与车辆34的经互补配置的接收机接口32通信的其它短距离接口。以这种方式,可以从移动计算机10将信号发送到引擎控制模块(ECM)36或车辆34中的其它计算机。ECM36通常从车辆34的车载速度传感器38等接收信号,用于在巡航控制模式中控制例如车辆34的引擎油门40。
移动计算机10可以经由接收机26和收发机28中的一个或多个从一个或多个无线基站42接收信息,一个或多个无线基站42的每个通常具有通信接口44、处理器46和计算机可读介质48。
图2示出了根据本原理的可由访问一个或多个上述计算机可读介质上的计算机可读指令的一个或多个上述处理器执行的逻辑。从块50开始,关于移动设备10(因而是其被恰巧放置于的任何车辆34)的当前地理位置的信息由位置接收机24接收。在一些实施例中,接收机24可以直接被安装在车辆上而不安装在移动设备10上,在这种情况下,可以例如使用蓝牙收发机30将位置从ECM36发送到移动设备10的处理器12。
在块52中,速度限制数据库被访问以确定在块50中接收的当前位置的所公布的速度限制。为此,处理器12可以访问移动设备10内的介质14,或者当数据库可能存储在例如基站42中的介质上时,基站处理器46可以访问该数据库。基站42随后将相关的速度限制(即,当前位置的速度限制)发送到移动设备10。
前进到块54,当前路况信息(包括影响路况的天气信息)被访问。为此,基站42可以经由例如调谐器26或远距离收发机28将路况信息发送到移动设备10,或者可以在基站42内部执行块56处的后续逻辑。在任意情况中,可以从例如因特网上的州道状况信息服务器或国家海洋和大气局(NOAA)天气信息站点或其它适当源访问路况信息。
在块56中,所公布的(“标称”)速度限制可以根据在块54中接收到的路况信息而被调节。通常,所公布的最大限制针对差于最优路况而被减小;所公布的最大限制从不被增加。用于调节速度限制的规则可以是通用的,或者规则可以针对各条道路或一组道路而不同。规则可以是基于统计的或者以经验为依据。
作为非限制性示例,对于具有65mph的公告速度限制的任何以及所有道路,当在块54中指示了下雨的任何时候,65mph的所公布的速度限制可以被减小10mph。或者,当指示下雨时,可以针对一条道路将限制减小5mph而针对另一不同道路将限制减小10mph。冻雨可能导致对速度限制的更大幅度的减小。
再次,如果对一道路的统计表明大多数事故发生在速度超过50mph时的下雨时,而对另一道路的统计表明大多数事故发生在速度超过40mph时的下雨时,则对第一道路的速度限制可以被调低到45mph,而对第二道路的速度限制可以被调低到35mph。
作为另外的非限制性示例,如果路况表明附近的单条车道关闭,则可能引起速度限制被减小10mph,而两条车道关闭可能导致减小20mph。统计可以用来建立这些减小量,例如,如果统计显示在65mph的公路上,单条车道关闭引起55mph及更高平均速度时的事故急剧上升,则针对该道路上的单条车道关闭的速度限制可以被调低到50mph(即,从“标称”限制被减小15mph)。如上所述,这种规则可以通用地被应用或者逐条道路被应用。
块56中的逻辑可以由移动设备10来执行,在这种情况下,处理器12在块54中从例如基站42接收路况信息。或者,块56中的逻辑可由基站42来执行,并且经调节的速度限制利用上述传输路径随后被发送到移动设备10。
在块58中,经调节的限制被呈现在显示屏18/扬声器20上。以这种方式,不需要大型路侧标志牌,并且速度限制可以被动态地改变并被呈现给驾驶员。此外,不仅政府机构可以直接改变所公布的“标称”速度限制,而且本原理预想了基于差于最优路况而自动减小被呈现给驾驶员的速度限制。
还是在块58中,车辆34的速度可以自动被减小到不大于经调节的速度限制。为此,移动设备处理器12可以利用例如蓝牙收发机30将经调节的速度限制传送到ECM36,ECM随后控制油门40以确保如速度传感器38所指示的车辆速度不超过如在块56中针对路况而调节的速度限制。

Claims (5)
1.一种移动设备,包括:
处理器,被配置成接收路况信息并根据该路况信息调节标称速度限制,其中,当所述路况信息表明单条车道关闭时,所述标称速度限制被减小第一量,当所述路况信息表明多于一条车道关闭时,所述标称速度限制被减小第二量,并且统计被用来建立减小量;以及
显示器或扬声器,被配置成呈现经调节的标称速度限制。
2.如权利要求1所述的移动设备,还包括蓝牙收发机,其中,所述处理器被配置成利用该蓝牙收发机将经调节的标称速度限制传送到引擎控制模块,以便自动防止车辆超过所述经修改的经调节的标称速度限制。
3.如权利要求1所述的移动设备,其中,所述处理器被配置成从基站接收路况信息。
4.如权利要求3所述的移动设备,其中,所述路况信息是从高级电视系统委员会ATSC调谐器接收的。
5.如权利要求3所述的移动设备,其中,所述移动设备确定所述经调节的标称速度限制。
