Abstract
本发明涉及一种压敏粘合剂,其包括:至少一种聚异丁烯,至少一种(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物,和任选的添加剂。在所述压敏粘合剂中聚异丁烯的含量为至少10wt%,基于压敏粘合剂的重量。
Description
本发明涉及压敏粘合剂,制备该压敏粘合剂的方法,以及该压敏粘合剂的用途。
包含聚异丁烯的压敏粘合剂(PSA)是本领域已知的。聚异丁烯的性质根据其分子量而变化。所有聚异丁烯均具有约-65℃的橡胶状玻璃化转变温度。然而,聚异丁烯的老化和耐候性能明显比天然橡胶稳定,因为聚异丁烯具有饱和特性。
如天然橡胶的情况一样,聚异丁烯通常与增粘树脂共混,此时优选使用高分子量和低分子量的聚异丁烯的混合物。基于聚异丁烯的PSA通常具有和天然橡胶PSA类似的性质。另一方面,基于聚异丁烯的PSA的老化稳定性更像丙烯酸酯PSA。
基于高分子量聚异丁烯的PSA除了在室温和低于室温的温度倾向于具有不利的流动性能(冷流)之外,其没有用电子束交联的可能性也是特别不利的。聚合物通过电子束交联在下文称为电子束固化(EBC),其确保欲交联的PSA组分的分子量增加,并由此确保在组分之间具有强内聚力而没有不利地影响PSA的粘性和抗分离性。由于聚异丁烯的饱和特性,它们不能通过电子束固化进行交联,这导致基于聚异丁烯的PSA的内聚力不足,在低于室温的温度下尤其是这样。
本发明的目的是消除现有技术中的缺点。本发明尤其是要详细说明基于聚异丁烯的PSA,该基于聚异丁烯的PSA尤其在低于室温的温度下表现出优异的流动特性和高的内聚力。本发明的另一方面是要详细说明制备该PSA的方法,和该PSA的用途。
所述目的通过权利要求1、15、19和20的特征得以实现。本发明有用的实施方式从权利要求2-14和16-18的特征中明显可得。
本发明提供一种压敏粘合剂,其包括至少一种聚异丁烯,至少一种(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物,和任选的添加剂,在所述压敏粘合剂中的聚异丁烯含量为至少10wt%,基于压敏粘合剂的重量。
本发明的PSA相对于丙烯酸酯PSA的显著区别在于即使在低温下也具有高的粘结强度。这尤其适用于低于室温的温度(如5℃或更低的温度)。在低温下,丙烯酸酯PSA失去粘结强度,而本发明PSA的粘结强度实际上升高。此效应归功于聚异丁烯的柔性,该柔性依次又基于聚异丁烯非常低的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)。本发明PSA即使在低温下也具有的高粘结强度,这使得其特别适合应用于户外区域。
另外,本发明的PSA在长的储存期间显示出在基底上比较一致的粘结强度(长期粘结)。相反,使用丙烯酸酯PSA在长期粘结中粘结强度有增加。当欲将包含这些PSA的胶带再次移除时,这是不利的。另一方面,本发明的PSA确保以该PSA为特征的胶带具有基本上不变的粘结强度,这便于有目的地选择PSA用于特定的粘结应用。
此外,本发明的PSA具有高的耐老化性。这归功于聚异丁烯组分和(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物组分两者的饱和特性。
而且,本发明的PSA即使在高温下也具有良好的加工性能,这归功于它们的粘度和高粘结强度,它们甚至和粗糙基底也具有高粘结强度。
在压敏粘合剂中的聚异丁烯含量优选为至少25wt%,更优选为至少45wt%,甚至更优选为至少60wt%,每种情况均基于压敏粘合剂的重量。
在压敏粘合剂中添加剂含量优选为0~10wt%,基于压敏粘合剂的重量。
在一种优选实施方式中,聚异丁烯和(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物的重量比为5∶1至1∶5,更优选为2∶1至1∶2,还更优选为1.5∶1至1∶1.5,基于在压敏粘合剂中聚异丁烯和聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物的总重量。
在一种实施方式中,本发明的压敏粘合剂包括基于压敏粘合剂重量的
(a)40~60wt%的聚异丁烯;
(b)60~40wt%的(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物;和
(c)0~10wt%的添加剂。
在第二实施方式中,本发明的压敏粘合剂包括基于压敏粘合剂重量的
(a)45~55wt%的聚异丁烯;
(b)55~45wt%的(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物;和
(c)0~5wt%的添加剂。
在另一实施方式中,本发明的压敏粘合剂包括基于压敏粘合剂重量的
(a)45~55wt%的聚异丁烯;
(b)55~45wt%的(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物;和
(c)0wt%的添加剂。
优选本发明的压敏粘合剂不含任何增粘树脂。
在一种优选实施方式中,对本发明的压敏粘合剂进行电子束固化。
聚异丁烯优选为高分子量聚异丁烯。聚异丁烯的重均分子量优选大于或等于500000,更优选大于或等于800000,甚至更优选大于1000000。
可以使用具有不同分子量和摩尔质量分布的聚异丁烯的混合物。
所述PSA的粘合活性基本上源自聚异丁烯和(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物的混合物,因此不需要向PSA中添加任何增粘树脂。
作为(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物,可以使用所有用于丙烯酸酯PSA制备的聚合物和/或共聚物。(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物可以由例如式CH2=CH(R1)(COOR2)的丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸酯制备,其中R1为H和/或CH3且R2为H和/或具有1~30个碳原子,4~14个碳原子,优选4~9个碳原子的烷基链。不受该列举的限制,具体实例为丙烯酸正丁酯、丙烯酸正戊酯、丙烯酸正己酯、丙烯酸正庚酯、丙烯酸正辛酯、丙烯酸正壬酯、丙烯酸月桂基酯、丙烯酸硬脂基酯、丙烯酸二十二烷基酯,这些化合物的支化异构体,例如丙烯酸2-乙基己酯。
对于添加剂,可以将PSA混合有本领域技术人员已知的用于制备聚异丁烯PSA和丙烯酸酯PSA的任何添加剂,实例为填料、颜料、流变添加剂、促粘剂添加剂、增塑剂、弹性体、老化抑制剂(抗氧化剂)、光稳定剂、UV吸收剂,和其它辅剂和助剂如干燥剂(例如,分子筛沸石、氧化钙)、流动和流动控制剂、润湿剂(表面活性剂)或催化剂。
对于填料,可以使用所有细磨的固体辅剂,例如白垩、碳酸镁、碳酸锌、高岭土、硫酸钡、二氧化钛或氧化钙。其它实例为滑石、云母、二氧化硅、硅酸盐或氧化锌。也可以使用所述物质的混合物。
所用的颜料本身可以是有机的或无机的。所有类型的有机或无机彩色颜料均是合适的,实例为白色颜料如二氧化钛,例如用于改进改进光稳定性和UV稳定性,还有金属颜料。
流变添加剂的实例为热解法二氧化硅、层状硅酸盐(膨润土)、高分子量聚氨酯粉末或蓖麻油衍生物粉末。
促粘剂添加剂例如可以为选自聚酰胺、环氧化物或硅烷的物质。
增塑剂的实例为酞酸酯,偏苯三酸酯,含磷酯,己二酸酯,和其它无环二羧酸酯,脂肪酸酯,羟基羧酸酯,苯酚的烷基磺酸酯,脂族、脂环族和芳族矿物油,烃,液体或半固体橡胶(例如,丁腈橡胶或聚异戊二烯橡胶),丁烯和/或异丁烯的液体或半固体聚合物,丙烯酸酯,聚乙烯基酯,基于也是增粘剂树脂基底的原料的液体树脂和增塑剂树脂,羊毛蜡和其它蜡,有机硅,还有聚合物增塑剂,例如聚酯或聚氨酯。
合适的树脂是所有天然和合成树脂,例如,松香衍生物(例如,由歧化、氢化或酯化形成的衍生物),香豆酮-茚树脂和多萜烯树脂,脂族或芳族烃树脂(C-5,C-9,(C-5)2树脂),混合的C-5/C-9树脂,所述类型的氢化或部分氢化衍生物,苯乙烯或甲基苯乙烯的树脂,以及还有萜烯-苯酚类树脂等,如Ullmannsder technischen Chemie(4th edn.),volume 12,pp.525-555,Weinheim中所列出的。通过该树脂可以调节和控制本发明的促粘剂的工艺性质。此外,这些树脂可以充当相介质(phase mediator)。
合适的弹性体例如为EPDM橡胶或EPM橡胶,聚异丁烯,丁基橡胶,乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯,二烯的氢化嵌段共聚物(例如,通过氢化SBR、cSBR、BAN、NBR、SBS、SIS或IR,这些聚合物称为例如SEPS和SEBS)或丙烯酸酯共聚物如ACM。
使用其它组分如填料和增塑剂配制本发明的粘合剂也是现有技术。
本发明的PSA可以通过电子束固化(EBC)进行交联。可以使用的典型的辐射装置包括线性阴极体系、扫描仪体系或分段阴极体系(segmentedcathode system),其中使用电子束加速器。在Skelhorne,Electron BeamProcessing,in Chemistry and Technology of UV and EB formulation forCoatings,Inks and Paints,vol.1,1991,SITA,London中可以找到现有技术状态的详尽描述和最重要的工艺参数。典型的加速电压的范围为50kV至500kV,优选为80kV至300kV。采用的散射剂量的范围为5~150kGy,更具体为20~100kGy。
电子束固化的作用是交联本发明PSA中的(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物。这导致本发明PSA温度稳定性显著提高,正如通过加速的温度试验(SAFT,accelerated temperature test)所显示的。
最后,本发明涉及上述粘合剂用于单面或双面胶带的用途,所述胶带由至少一层载体和PSA层构成。
对于胶带来说,用于本发明PSA的载体材料例如为本领域技术人员常见和熟悉的材料,如膜(聚酯、PET、PE、PP、BOPP、PVC、聚酰亚胺),无纺布,泡沫体,机织织物和机织织物膜,以及还有离型纸(玻璃纸、HDPE、LDPE)。另一实施方式使用PSA制备遮蔽带(masking tape)。此列举是非穷尽的。
因此,根据本发明,还提供制备本发明压敏粘合剂的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
(a)提供所述聚异丁烯、所述(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物、和任选的所述添加剂;
(b)混合步骤(a)提供的各组分,得到均匀的混合物;和
(c)使步骤(b)中获得的混合物成形。
步骤(b)可以在合适的混合装置如行星式滚筒挤出机或双螺杆挤出机中进行。优选挤出机的温度大于130℃,更优选为130℃,挤出机在混合或输送操作中的旋转速度大于50转/min,更优选为75~100转/min,并且有效地选择PRE的温度分布(热处理循环次数为1、2和3)。
然后将步骤(b)中获得的混合物(在下文也称为共混物)通过辊涂机成形,形成压敏粘合剂层。为此,有效地将混合物以15~200g/m2的层厚,优选以50g/m2的层厚施涂至载体,该载体优选为纸或膜。
优选对该混合物进行电子束固化(EBC)。随后有效地进行此方法步骤,以使混合物成形。
在下文参考附图并使用实例更详细地阐述本发明。在附图中:
图1显示的图说明在本发明的示例性PSA与丙烯酸酯PSA相比较的粘度、粘结强度、和加速的温度试验(SAFT)的结果;和
图2显示的图说明例如本发明的PSA和丙烯酸酯PSA相比较的在80℃温度之后粘结强度随时间的变化。
实施例
制备表1所示的本发明的PSA。这些PSA均不含添加剂。
如下制备所述PSA:在行星式滚筒挤出机(PRE温度分布(加热循环次数1、2和3))中在130℃混合高分子量的橡胶状聚异丁烯(Oppanol B 100,重均分子量为1100000)和含水的弱氨性的(ammoniacal)丙烯酸酯共聚物分散体(Primal PS 83 D)。挤出机在混合和输送操作中的旋转速度为75~100rpm。将如此得到的本发明的PSA经辊涂机成形,在膜载体上形成50g/m2的压敏粘合剂膜。

线性下降的曲线显示PSA的粘度,而呈抛物线上升的曲线显示PSA的粘结强度。显然,在本发明PSA的优选的混合比例中,即使没有添加任何树脂,也可以获得3~4N/cm的粘结强度。这种粘结强度是常见的,例如,在遮蔽带的应用领域中。
此外,通过丙烯酸酯的EBC交联,可以获得本发明PSA在耐热性方面的显著提高。这由加速的耐热性试验(SAFT)可显示。
表2显示,对于不同PSA,在室温(RT)、5℃时的粘结强度,以及在施涂并存放14天后在室温的粘结强度。

从表2明显看到,分别在施涂之后和在温度影响下粘结强度的变化。在存放时间后PSA在基材如钢上的粘结强度取决于聚异丁烯和丙烯酸酯共聚物的所选重量比。尽管纯丙烯酸酯PSA表现出显著增加的粘结强度,但在采用重量比为1∶1的聚异丁烯和丙烯酸酯共聚物的本发明的PSA中,粘结强度基本上保持恒定。本发明PSA在长期粘结和随后将含本发明PSA的胶带根据需要除去时的优势明显。
进一步明显可见的是低温粘结强度(例如,正如在户外区域粘结的情况中)可受聚异丁烯和丙烯酸酯共聚物的重量比影响。尽管纯丙烯酸酯PSA在低温失去粘结强度,但采用本发明的PSA,根据聚异丁烯的含量,在低温下粘结强度实际上可以增加,这是由于聚异丁烯因其非常低的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)特性而具有挠性所致。
图2显示本发明PSA的耐老化性。明显看到,本发明的PSA(89wt%聚异丁烯/11wt%丙烯酸酯共聚物;18wt%聚异丁烯/82wt%丙烯酸酯共聚物)表现出相对于纯丙烯酸酯PSA的优势。由于聚异丁烯和丙烯酸酯共聚物两者的饱和性,本发明PSA的耐老化性即使在长时间后也相对稳定。这适合大范围的聚异丁烯/丙烯酸酯共聚物重量比。

Claims (13)
1.压敏粘合剂,其包括:至少一种聚异丁烯,至少一种(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物,和任选的添加剂;
其中所述压敏粘合剂包括基于压敏粘合剂重量的
(a)40~60wt%的聚异丁烯;
(b)60~40wt%的(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物;和
(c)0~10wt%的添加剂;
其中所述聚异丁烯的重均分子量大于或等于500000。
2.权利要求1的压敏粘合剂,其特征在于,在所述压敏粘合剂中聚异丁烯的含量为至少45wt%,基于压敏粘合剂的重量。

8.制备权利要求1-7任一项的压敏粘合剂的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括以下步骤:
(a)提供所述聚异丁烯、所述(甲基)丙烯酸酯聚合物或共聚物、和任选的所述添加剂;和
(b)混合步骤(a)提供的各组分,得到均匀的混合物;和
(c)使步骤(b)中获得的混合物成形。
9.权利要求8的方法,其特征在于,将步骤(c)中的混合物施用至载体和在该过程中将其成形为层。
10.权利要求8或9的方法,其特征在于,使混合物经受电子束处理。
