Description
Additional patent for main patent no. <B> 158243. </B> Process for the representation of a high ocular salfosilure. It has been found that new, water-soluble condensation products can be achieved by subjecting solid, acid-condensed synthetic resins based on formaldehyde to a treatment with phenol, its homologues or substitution products and the resulting homogeneous Mass treated with sulphonating agents.
The present invention now relates to a process for the preparation of a high molecular weight sulfonic acid, characterized in that a synthetic resin obtained by condensation of a technical mixture of 2,1- and 2,6-dichlorophenol and urea with formaldehyde using acidic catalysts is used dissolves in a technical mixture of o- and p-chlorophenol and of 2,4- and 2,6-dichlorophenol and up to water solubility; treated with sulfonating agents.
The new body, in the form of its alkali salt, is a weakly colored, amorphous mass. In addition to being a tanning agent, the product can also serve as a wall reserve in Ila.Ibwollfärberei.
<I> Example: </I> <B> 55 </B> parts of a resin, obtained by condensation of <B> 105 </B> parts of dichlorophenol, <B> 26 </B> parts of urea, <B> 100 parts formaldehyde solution and 15 cm sulfuric acid 4% are mixed with 4.5 parts chlorophenol and 55 parts dichlorophenol. Stirred at <B> 85 '</B> until a homogeneous solution of the resin has formed. Between <B> 60 </B> and <B> 95 '185 </B> parts of oleum II% are now allowed to flow in and stirring is continued until a sample in the same volume of water is clearly soluble even in the cold.
After the excess acid has been blunted with sodium carbonate, she lets the soluble resin be obtained as a weakly colored, amorphous mass by salting out with sodium chloride or by evaporation; her solutions have a strong precipitating effect on basic dyes , have strong glue-precipitating properties and turn a reddish blue color with ferric chloride.
