Abstract

COMPARTIMENTO FLEXìVEL PARA UM MóDULO DE AIR-BAG. Trata-se de um módulo de air-bag (10) que pode possuir um dispositivo de inflação (42), uma bolsa de ar (40) e um compartimento (46) que contém o dispositivo de inflação (42) e a bolsa de ar (40) . O compartimento possui uma parede externa formada de um material flexível e um suporte angular projetado para ser ligado a um veículo. Durante a aplicação, a bolsa de ar é expelida para fora do compartimento através do suporte angular. O dispositivo de inflação permanece no compartimento e o gás de enchimento é conduzido para a bolsa de ar através do compartimento. O dispositivo de inflação pode ser retido por abas envolvidas ao redor do dispositivo de inflação, e seguro junto a um difusor orientado de forma perpendicular do dispositivo de inflação. De forma alternativa, o difusor pode se estender através de um orifício formado em uma parede de tecido dentro do compartimento, e as partes de retenção da parede externa podem ser envolvidas ao redor do lado oposto do dispositivo de inflação. O módulo de air-bag pode ser montado em um painel de instrumentos para proporcionar proteção contra impacto no lado do passageiro no assento dianteiro sem requerer um compartimento de módulo rígido.
