Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"COPOLìMEROS DE TRIBLOCO INCORPORANDO UM COPOLìMERO DE ESTIRENO/ISOOLEFINA DE BLOCO INTERMEDIáRIO"<D>. Inovadores copolímeros de três blocos são apresentados. Os copolímeros de três blocos têm um bloco intemediário que é um copolímero de um monómero de isoolefina e um monómero de vinila aromático. Preferivelmente, o bloco intermediário é um copolímero de isobutileno e alquilestireno. Os blocos das extremidades do copolímero de três blocos são ou um homopolímero de um monómero aromático de vinil ou um copolímero de um ou mais monómeros selecionados do grupo consistindo em aromáticos de vinila, estireno, metilestireno, butilestireno, haloestireno, p-alilestireno e p-butenilestireno. Além disso, é apresentado um processo para o preparo um copolímero de três blocos. O processo envolve: (a) partida de uma polimerização "viva" de um monómero de isoolefina (monómero A) e um primeiro monómero aromático de vinil (monómero B) em um recipiente de reação usando condições de polimerização carbocatiónica e um catalisador capaz de polimerizar carbocationicamente monómero A e Monómero B; (b) deixar a polimerização continuar por um período de tempo T~ 1~, durante o qual mais monómero A e/ou monómero B adicionais podem opcionalmente ser adicionados; (c) ao completar o tempo T~ 1~, continuar a polimerização adicionando apenas o monómero ativo A por um período de tempo T~ 2~; (d) ao completar o tempo T~ 2~, continuar a polimerização adicionando um segundo monómero aromático de vinil (monómero C) por um período de tempo T~ 3~; (e) ao completar o tempo T~ 3~, extinguir a polimerização; e (f) recuperar o copolímero de três blocos.
