Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>''EXPRESSãO AUMENTADA DA PROTEìNA INSETICIDA CRY3B EM PLANTAS''<D>. A presente invenção refere-se a processos e composições que compreendem um grupo de novos cassetes de expressão que fornece níveis significativamente aumentados do acúmulo das seq³ências de aminoácidos de Cry3B e de variante de Cry3B inibidoras de Coleópteros quando estas são expressas em plantas. As modalidades preferidas da invenção fornecem níveis pelo menos até dez vezes maiores de proteína controladora de inseto em relação aos níveis mais altos obtidos utilizando as composições anteriores. Em particular, o milho transgênico expressando níveis maiores de uma proteína projetada para exibir toxicidade aumentada para pragas de Coleópteros espalha níveis superiores de proteção contra os insetos e menos provavelmente são responsáveis pelo desenvolvimento de populações de insetos alvo que são resistentes à proteína ativa como inseticida.
