Abstract

"MéTODOS PARA A PRODUçãO DE FERRO E AçO". Ferro fundido é preparado ao (1) prover óxido de ferro e um agente redutor carbonáceo; (2) preparar um produto moldado a partir do agente redutor carbonáceo e o óxido de ferro; (3) preparar ferro reduzido sólido a partir do produto moldado, onde o ferro reduzido sólido tem uma metalização de pelo menos 60%, uma gravidade específica de pelo menos 1,7, e um teor de carbono de pelo menos 50% da quantidade teórica necessária para reduzir o óxido de ferro remanescendo no ferro reduzido sólido; e (4) antes de ocorrer um resfriamento substancial, aquecer o ferro reduzido sólido em um forno de fusão do tipo de aquecimento por arco, a uma temperatura elevada. o ferro fundido pode ser preparado eficientemente a partir de minérios de ferro tendo teor de ferro relativamente baixo, sem causar a erosão dos refratários, com elevada energia e elevadas eficiências de redução, e por uma operação simples em uma instalação simples.
